yup, it sucks. I've already decided when the new house is ready I'm totally building 2-3 shelves around my office for display purposes. The only time I have had figures on a book shelf was in one apartment, and even then that bookshelf was in the back corner of a closet...just no room, and that was 9 years ago. I have a huge collection of figures from Star Wars, Gi Joe (not so much vehicles to either) MU and ML and nothing has ever been displayed due to room constraints. So sad.

Unless it is a BAF (which makes sense), I'm scared to buy loose figures these days. A lot of sellers don't tell you when the figure has loose joints and they say it is in mint condition, but you get it and there turns out to be paint scuffs on the figure that they never bothered to mention.

Seems to me MOST sellers list things like that..and provide pretty decent close ups!! (usually). I've had great luck with loose figures.
Also...ya gotta remember some figures are loose RIGHT OUT THE PACKAGE..
BUT it seems the furniture polish trick works..

AND...super SIDE NOTE: I've been low-balling a lot of "buy it now" auctions of late on ebay......and THEY ACCEPT with the quickness(of course not all). I used to feel some kind of way about offering too low a dollar amount, .... but hell it's business and that's a negotiation....if they accept ..FINE.

Speaking of too loose, my Namor (which arrived last week from Walgreens online), has extremely tight joints. so much so that when I move his arms/legs they make a clicking sound. Anyone else encountering this? I've had other figures with stiff joints but not quite that bad. I'm almost afraid I'm going to break him.

Mannnnn......this shit right here.......
Me: <<moving a figures joints for the first time>> come on...come on... 'it's an action figure..that's what it does..it'll turn' come onnnn...*snap* FUCCCCCCCCK!!...then then head shake...then.."why did i not just loosen it up"
Sometimes i don't care because I'll take it RIGHT back to the store..BUT..when it's a not easy to come by figure then GRRRRRRRR!!!

My mark (?? ) Iron man from the Thanos wave...popped right off at the wrist..and not in the good way.
My Christopher Reeve(s) Superman is now armless at the shoulder and I cant find those anywhere to replace it.

Yeah, I sometimes leave the join in between where it clicks to try loosening it up a little. But I usually only do that if heating it up with a hair dry doesn't work.

Yeah i have also had excellent luck on loose figures aswell some are in better condition than right after i take mine out of package. Some of those people on ebay are smoking something because they want outrageous prices for inexpensive figures. Most of my figures are in storage boxes cuz I don't have a nuf space either Lol

As result of something Kain said (I think it was him) years back, when I receive a fig in the mail in the winter months, I'll give it the hair dryer treatment before attempting to move joints...as a result of buying some of the pricier Gothitropolis figs (secondary market), I go the hair dryer route, regardless of the season, once I encounter a stubborn joint...on any fig...loose or MOC. Can't hurt.

If the seller neglects to tell you major defects like that, then you should be able to get a refund.

I ordered the Giant-Man Series Thor a while back and the seller didn't tell me that the ankle joint was broken and had been superglued back. I contacted the seller and they gave me a full refund and I was even allowed to keep the figure.

Damn...smh. I give my mail-people Christmas gifts...A) because I receive a shitload of packages, and B) to ensure against just the sort of apathy you mentioned. One year, I gave my mailman a fifth of Vodka...he's was very happy with that lol...but now, I have two to three rotating mail-people, so I leave an X-mass card with a twenty spot...just to let them know I appreciate them and respect that they are doing a bit more with my deliveries...they ring the doorbell and if I'm not home, they will obscure the package behind my front door planter or leave it on the back deck out of sight...

I bet he was happy with that Vodka. I probably should have started giving them gifts a long time ago. I had a package stolen once lol they left it out in plain sight. Thats mighty nice of you to give them gifts man. And your spiderman pics are so badass their poses are the best in all your pictures!

You can achieve the same effect with superglue, but if not done correctly, you risk freezing the joint.

Sure man! The most basic things to get would be styrofoam, insulation wool, and some grey spraypaint. If you just want cluttered pieces of concrete about your battle set-up, cut the styro after doing some rubble Googling, where you can see that concrete breaks in basic shapes, so there's no "craft" involved, and spraypaint it.

A lot of others shade the rubble with white, black and various grey tones, but to be honest, rubble is usually just one basic colour. You can use the paint again to gently spray clumps of the insulation wool and make your own "dust cloud" effects. Again, takes a couple of minutes, but it's pretty handy. You can even lightly glue small chunks of your debris onto the wool to give the effect of pieces of the ground flying into the air.

It's all dead simple, and is surprisingly more fun than you'd think.

Welcome to the collection, Namor...I've been waiting to separate the 'minnows' from the 'Monarchs!' lol
Okay, BM, A) That Tiger Shark is perfectly posed. DTL's spot on when he calls you the master of naturalistic figure formation. B) How on earth are you balancing that Obitsu in such a concertina fashion?! That is a skill you can take to the bank, my friend. Finally, C) I have seen many people utilise the blue flames as an insinuation water, and none to a convincing effect, but with the scene you've set out and the way you've placed them, this bloody well works!

Mattycollector is doing just that. Monday they put up limited amounts of items in the Mattycollector store. It is something new they are trying this year. Hasbro never seems to put out any info about their SDCC sale, so I was asking if anyone heard a date? They have done stuff before on the Monday after SDCC and other times they waited a couple days or a week after.

Last year HTS did announce an actual date when they would put stuff up, just not an actual time, they're servers were able to handle it sort of I believe...not sure if this year they will again...
