Thanks for the heads-up! After looking at the announcement, looks like the real fight will be between Songbird and Typhoid Mary. Both are great choices, but I'm more partial to Songbird.

FINALLY got around to doing a minor alteration to a figure I had been meaning to for a long time, modding my MCU Ant Man's helmet to give the appearance of his breather. While it's not perfect sculpt-wise, I think it came out alright, was simple to do, and most importantly, it gets rid of that open faced look that bothered me so much on the original figure, without having to resort to buying a custom casted head.

So I just finished reading up to 108 in the X-Men Omnibus and except for one moment, everything has been great. Things have gotten a tad bit confusing, especially because the exposition didn't help matters, but that also could be because I saw the cartoon adaptation first, so I'm so used to that that this version was confusing. Neverthless, I have been having a blast reading all of these issues except for what was issue 106, it felt like it didn't belong there. I mean, at the end of 105 Phoenix and the X-Men travel through the stargate.
However, 106 just jumps with them in the danger room and everything ends up being a dream essentially created by an evil version of Xavier, but it just doesn't make any sense because there is no transition to this happening. Not to mention Phoenix isn't even present in the issue one bit and yet, somehow Xavier's darkside manage to fly across the entire cosmos to fight them in a dream? Did they arrive out of the stargate and just stare at the Imperial Guard the entire time they fought their imaginary predecessors? I just don't understand how that issue fits into the overall narrative. That aside, like I said, everything else has been great. I thought the issue with Magneto's return (from being transformed into a baby??) was wonderful. I am surprised how little the Starjammers were featured in this arc though and that it was already revealed that Corsair is Scott's father, especially since nothing is even resolved on that front. We don't even see the duo's farewell. With that said, I'm trying to sell some stuff so I can buy Volumes 2 and 3 because god damn, I want to continue reading this stuff in order as far as I can. Although, it is weird that the cover to Volume 1 is like a reprint of the original Giant Sized cover while 2 is a new version of a previous cover and Volume 3 is completely new artwork that doesn't even resemble the covers to 1 and 2. Your not alone brotha... my list of needs has grown as of lately even though i've already got black panther i still need 1 Nick Fury 2 walgreens Namor 3 Rogue 4 wolverine 5 deadpool 6 walgreens punisher and im sure as all of you have heard me numerous times south florida is like the worst when it comes to new toy releases. |

I"m exactly the same and I hope eventually all four get made. I could care much less about White Rabbit than the rest but it only seems fair to wish for all four instead of just three. But yeah, Songbird'll definitely have my vote.

@Dr Kain: Great shots as always! My MCU Spider-Man finally arrived today, and while I still have some issues with this costume, all in all, it's not a bad figure, even if the proportions feel a bit off. In the meantime, I thought I'd see how he'd hold up against some movie Spiderman villains from days past. "Can Spider-Man come out to play?..." ![]() "Brilliant...but lazy..." ![]() "You knew it would come to this...." ![]() "End of the line, Spider-Man!" ![]() "Never wound, what you can't kill..." ![]() "This is my gift. Whoever worked at Hasbro that was responsible for that Sandman figure really needs to get a job in the mailing room. I forgot how horrible it was, and after tonight, I can't unsee it again... |

That one is the gimmick one from the original Spider-Man 2 line from ToyBiz, though Hasbro did an un-gimmick version of it (along with much less in the way of paint apps) when they re-released it with the Sandman BAF from Spider-Man 3. There is also an un-gimmick version of Doc Ock from the ToyBiz line (which I have, but didn't feel like digging up,) but it's a bit harder to find (i.e. more expensive) and it has slightly less in the way of articulation when compared to the gimmick one.

That MCU spiderman looks cool but he doesn't really look like the Suit in the movie. My Toy s r us finally got back in the Sam wilson and Female Hawkeye 3-packs.

Thanks! It's a surprisingly easy mod to do for anyone interested. All it requires is an exacto to separate the breather from the chin (since it's a part of the mold and is glued to it) and a little silver and black paint coupled with a gentle push to get the breather further up over the mouth.

@Dr Kain: Nice team shots!
@Trivial: Some cool thinking recreating those scenes with MCU Spidey, and those last shots would make a funny Spider-verse tie-in. |

Just wanted to note only one of my MCU Black Panthers I picked up on Friday is spoken for. I still have another, if anyone is interested just PM me, we'll work out the payment/shipping details. I would be able to ship it on Wednesday.

Anwyay, bought some green posterboard to see how doing green screened backgrounds would work. ![]() ![]() Unfortunately, I can't figure out any way for it to not effect the characters that wear green. :-(

Hmmm, good question. I was going to say Puck wave Wolverine and Rocket wave Scarlet Spider as part of a haul that put them to about $12 each. However, I think from a sheer price perspective it was probably the entire Ultimate Green Goblin wave (with Carnage and Black Cat, not the sub figures) along with the (at the time) nearly brand new Agent Venom as a lot for about $50 bucks.
____ Some appreciation for today's pick up. To be honest, I was VERY mixed on buying this set and if it had been $60 like the Civil War set instead of $50 I would have left it there. The lack of wings for Sam is really annoying but not surprising for a multi-pack set. There is a peg hole in the back there they could have fit. He is also probably 60% reused Now Cap but that is also not surprising. Overall he's a solid figure and figuring out some wings for him will really make him a great figure. He could have easily sold as a single card figure in a wave if he also had the wings. Kate would have been much better in her first costume. I would have much preferred her right hand in a bow string grip instead of the fanned hand but meh. Something about the head sculpt just bugs me but I am not sure what. Vision is a solid figure for basically being a repaint. The cape stays put a LOT better than the white and movie versions. He will work for any modern lineups. Be careful with QC issues if you find the sets. The first one I picked up had really solid paint apps and I was about to take it until I realized it looked like Kate's leg was broken. Most of the paint issues seemed to be with Vision's chest emblem region and a few spots otherwise on Vision and Cap. ![]() Last edited by Kirathis; 08-07-2016 at 05:30 PM.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Nice! Way better than my job...I just used the exacto knife, painted the mouth area and placed it over his mouth. No glue, it holds well just on its own. |
