@darktremere
Thanks for the compliment...No sweat dude, those pics are old making it easy to re-post them to answer your question. I wish I had the variant "screaming" Magneto for a more complete comparison... @Robb wow...I really typed "they're" instead of "their"...full fail. SMDH |

Went out to get a haircut, and on the way home I stopped by the Walgreens that I first found Namor at to find a proverbial goldmine. This was all I needed to come home with though.
![]() I say goldmine, because I also ran into two each of Kanan and Ahsoka for the Star Wars Black Series figures (which I didn't need fortunately, but were on sale for 14.99) as well as some of the new WWE Elite figures (I might pick up the Rock for a custom project in mind...) and some of the newer 3.75" DC figures (I almost picked up Knightfall Batman, who looked sweet and was clearance priced at 3.99) In addition to 5 of Frank here sitting on the shelf, there were several Giant Man figures on the shelf, but sorry folks...no Black Panther. I haven't got him out of the package yet, but I'll get those comparison pics to the Nick Fury hands for you Dr. Kain. |

Has anyone on here ordered these bootlegs? The seller says that they're 17 cm which is 6" but the foreign eBay bootleg descriptions aren't always accurate so I'm unsure about the scale.

^Wow, those are some of the better bootlegs that I've seen. I definitely wonder how they scale with Legends.

I really dig the version of Falcon that those bootlegs have. I'm on the fence about getting one, just so I can have the wings to better customize my Sam Wilson Cap...The deco on the Falcon I think is actually better than the Legends version (although the sculpt could still use some work.)
Finally got to opening up Frank and messing around with him, and while I don't think he exactly is the definitive version, he still scratches that itch for the classic black and white spandex look for the Punisher that we've yet to receive, making it a pretty good figure, but far from perfect. For some reason, both of the heads feel too small for the larger body mold the figure incorporates, but that might just be me. The lack of trigger fingers really hurt the figure, and while I modded mine to have them, even then, the way the other fingers are sculpted can make getting a weapon into his hands a bit more of a chore than it should be. Also, on the left hand on my figure, I had to actually seperate the thumb from the rest of the fingers, as the thumb was stuck to the knuckle of the index finger. I highly recommend using a heat treatment on the hands to better shape them before trying to put anything in them, as it will make working with the figure a lot easier. The weapons are a lot less gummy and flimsy than the recent Deadpool weapons, although I will admit, the SMAW that came with my figure was pretty badly warped in the packaging. Thankfully, the quality of the M-60 was much better than previous versions of the weapon we have received in the past. Another thing of note, and I believe Glenn Webb pointed it out in his review as well, but the paint or whatever the type of plastic his hands are made of can actually stain when placing a weapon or accessory in them, which I thought was rather weird. This has never happened with any of my other Legends figures that have been casted with white plastic, so I'm wondering why this issue is suddenly prevalent with this one. Here's a few shots...sorry about the quality of the lighting, I'm also in the process of a move. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The final arsenal of weapons I decided to give my Punisher. Frank has always had a preference for larger caliber rounds than that of the standard issue NATO types, so I think these work well for him. You can also see how badly warped the bazooka was straight out of the packaging. ![]() @Dr Kain: While I didn't do an entire hand swap of the figures, as you can see from the photos, the Punisher's hands are actually a good deal larger than that of Fury's. I haven't inspected the peg size yet to see if they fit, but if you do switch them, you're gonna have to do both, otherwise you'll end up with a figure with one hand noticeably larger than the other. ![]() Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 08-21-2016 at 09:15 PM.. |

Speaking of that discussion about Mags, I've just realized that none of the A-listMarvel villains have particularly good Marvel Legends figures, outside of Spider-Man villains of course. But you think of guys like Doom, Magneto, Loki, Thanos, Red Skull, etc., all of their Legends figures are just varying degrees of suck lol.
There's a few exceptions, but honestly, the B-list and C-list villains have better offerings than most of the staple Marvel villains. |

There's a few exceptions, but honestly, the B-list and C-list villains have better offerings than most of the staple Marvel villains. While most of the figures you mentioned aren't that great, I think most of the Loki's we've received thus far have actually been pretty good. Any issues with them come more from a matter of taste with the various looks we've gotten as opposed to it being a bad figure. There also have been several good villain figures put out as well, such as Stryfe, Baron Zemo, Baron Strucker, Mr. Sinister and Kang. Many others are pretty good too, it just depends on your definition of A-lister. Many of the A-list villains have been presented in BAF form, and most of them are actually pretty good, such as Galactus (both the BAF and the Universe versions) Apocalypse (who has a decent Legends figure as well,) both Onslaught BAFS, MODOK, Mojo, and of course the Sentinel, who also had a great Universe figure. This does however bring up a bigger issue, in that Legends DOES have a serious villains issue (or lack of...) and while many of us just want them to keep pumping out X-Men waves, and Hasbro is content to give us even more of Spider-Man and Cap, I'd personally like to see another all villains wave like what we got with the Toybiz Onslaught series... |

I think that it's more of a character selection issue than it is the villain figures getting a raw deal. When it comes to Legends, the amount of heroes we've received far outnumber the amount of villains.

Hasbro could probably just release X-Men, villains and Females for the next two years and 90% of us would not complain.....I know I would be fine with that with the exception of wanting Justice. |

shhh need to save my wallet from abuse ... if hasbro gives us more x-men related characters, that were treated like the avengers, with the amount of waves we are getting, then yes they would get my money.

So, has anyone done up a 'checklist' of the various body-molds that Hasbro's currently using a lot, and who uses them? Like the Bucky Cap, the Grim Reaper, etc.
I'm starting to do some toy reviews on Tumblr and Facebook, and this would be a really good resource to have for reviewers in general, as a sort of 'shorthand' for talking about certain figures.

John Tensen? That guy was nuts, but I liked him too. I'm sure Nash meant Vance Astrovik, likely in his Initiative garb (or maybe New Warriors?). We are getting Vance Astro's Guardians (Major Victory) outfit, which I'm excited about because it opens a door for other original Guardians. Starhawk would be awesome..."take the word of one who knows." lol Uhhh, bad Starhawk humor. Current continuum Vance should be added at some point which would open Initiative or New Warriors possibilities.

They are doing a good deal of mixing and matching, lately. Von and I had been comparing some notes as waves came out, but with SDCC's reveals, any such list would take a good amount of effort. During the SDCC coverage, I mentioned the fact that Hasbro was cultivating an impressive amount of variety in molds. They'll surpass Toy Biz soon, if they haven't already...
@Nite Ha! Yeah, I was a Star Brand and DP7 guy!

the only exposure I have to The NU was when the Exiles visited it in their world tour. I remember seeing ads for it when I was younger but I just never checked it out, maybe I should, as I wasn't too put off by it from the Exiles storyline.

I've started to notice some things at my stores. People have been buying A marvel legends figure or black series and Returning other figures in their place like i saw a package with 1st appearance Daredevil at my Walgreens and someone returned the nemesis wave Daredevil in his place. I know people have done this for ever but it seems like it's gotten worse because there are multiples at each store. The best one i saw was someone stuck a Small little Gi joe in the place of a Star wars black series General Hux I don't see how the employees don't notice this shit.
