Exactly !!!! That's why i don't even bother talking to any walmart,TRU,or target employees. Im sure if i ask for anything it'll be the usual "whatever is on the shelf" line.

I meant no disrepect to retail employees as a whole. It does not really bother me if a retail employee does not know about version of characters, differences in packaging, or being able to tell Kitty Pryde from Deadpool. That's just not being familiar with specifics of the brand. I don't expect them to recognize when a previously released Daredevil is returned in new Daredevil's packaging either. Of course when they are familiar with the brand specifics that's always a bonus.

But it does annoy me when things like missing figures are not caught. That is not specific to the brand. That should be retail training with all parts of a retail store, from toys to groceries. I mean, would the grocery department find it acceptable to put out a 6 pack of cupcakes that only has half of the cupcakes in it?

So no, I don't knock retail employees in general. Just the lazy ones.

In defense of retail employees, a lot of these big name stores are notoriously understaffed (walmart is especially known for this), to the point where there's no realistic way any of these stores can do everything they should with the numbers they have. So you gotta cut corners, and toys are a relatively low importance item in the scheme of target/walgreens/walmart. Clothes/Appliances/Electronics, that's where these stores are making their money, that's where they're gonna tell their employees to focus.

It depends. I have had great luck at Target over the last two weeks. I just walked up to the guy, said, "Hey, your scanner says you might have these guys in the stockroom," and they have gone to check. That is how I got the entire X wave.

I call bullshit! Best Buy was understaffed at times and I still did my job. In fact, when we were understaffed the expectation was to work twice as hard and that is what I did. Plus, stores are like a restaraunt, you can tell when they are working their butts off due to the lack of staff to not wanting to put effort into their job.

Really? So why is there more & more exclusive figures for these stores??
They want to drag the toys collectors in, so logic is they should be able to provide services for this type of customers, or at least try harder.
Just my 2cts...

do retail workers get tips like restaurant staff do?

If I were being paid what US retail workers get paid, I would do the very bare minimum to avoid losing my job. Want more than that? Pay me more.

Precisely. In many cases, when you pay bananas and peanuts, you can expect to hire apes...

It's once again the simply fact, is that they hate being where they're at and of course being underpaid.... i brought back 3 power rangers 5 inch legacy figures about a weekend ago. there is a line of 6 to 8 people while two employees are at the return counter only one is actually working... that was the first peeve, finally 15 mins later my fiance then hands the figures to them and tell them we would like to return them. ( the figures were complete. nothing missing, just decided i no longer wanted them because the new line came out). they said sure, and then they with out a care to their store's product literally threw the items in a cart behind them without even worrying if it would damage them or not..... hell i've had walmart cashiers tell us the register is broken at the moment so they can't ring us up. i mean really ???

Bottom line there is no excuse to being shitty and miserable at work including with your costumers. if you don't like what you do for a living GET ANOTHER JOB....

Honestly sounds more like accusing people as a whole of being lazy rather than just sharing his personal viewpoints, but whatever.

Really. Really. As if people can afford that luxury in this economy.

I mean, I agree with you on that. I do. But right now, your average retail worker is likely working at least one other job to make ends meet, and I'm not talking about living some lavish, expensive lifestyle. Hell, I make $12/hr and honestly, after making sure the bills are paid and doing some necessity shopping, we end up living paycheck to paycheck. Imagine what it's like when you're paid less than that - it doesn't matter if you hate your job, because when it comes down to working a job you hate that pays for crap and has you dealing with rude, irate people for an entire 8-hour shift (if you're lucky enough to get an entire shift), or not eating, making rent, or keeping the lights on, a lot more people are gonna choose to keep the job. Because the job market isn't exactly a lively place, no matter what your skill level or desired position is.

And yeah, there's still an amount of 'obviously the employees don't care,' but the environment doesn't promote caring. You don't get any incentive to care when you work retail, unless you have some REALLY good supervisors and/or benefits. Because, yeah, for all the customers who point out how helpful you've been, or mention you positively to a manager, or whatever, there's at least two dozen more who think you're inept, who blame you for problems beyond your control, who tell your managers that you were rude to them, all that jazz. Because retail employees, as evidenced from some of the experiences mentioned here, are treated like crap from entitled customers who have 'the customer is always right' branded into their brains and think that gives them free agency to be dicks.

All right, I'm done with my rant, can we please get back to talking about toys now.

That's a good question. I'll be honest, now that I have the X-Men and Spider-Man wave, I'm looking forward to not needing the entire Cap and Strange wave. I hopefully won't have to go too crazy trying to find the ones I need.

I really hope when the TV series rolls around, they give it a faithful re-telling of "Welcome Back Frank," which wasn't given proper justice with the Thomas Jane attempt. I fear that a self narrated Punisher series would eventually run out of steam and become boring and depressing, and that properly representing Joan, Spacker Dave, and Mr. Bumpo, as well as his crusade against the Nuccis would make for familiar, but an entertaining TV series. (They've already done scenes from the story in Daredevil, and the Punisher would need supporting characters, so why not?)

You could easily fit in the sub-plot with the copycat killers, The Holy, Mr. Payback and The Elite, (which would fit in with the "Devil Worshipper" theme that was introduced and hinted at in Season 2 of Daredevil) as well as introduce the hapless Detective Soap, and cap it off with an encounter with The Russian (who in an awesome passing the torch type moment, could be played by Dolph Lundgren.) With the Nuccis eventually dispatched, we could find out they've been supported by the Kingpin, and it could possibly introduce us to another character, maybe a supervillian, like Tombstone (which in turn could intro us to the Tinkerer, who is set to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming.) I'd watch all 13 episodes in one sitting easy.
Holy hell, that'd be freakin' awesome. You're right though, DD Season 2 did seem to set up a lot for that storyline.

And I'd probably watch all 13 episodes regardless lol. Seriously, the Netflix stuff has been amazing. Speaking of which, I wonder what Danny's costume is gonna look like.

Man i agree with you 100 percent!!! Walmart is the worst of the Bunch anyway when it comes to employees i have never had anyone go check the stock room for a action figure, Target on the other hand usaasally always goes and checks and thats how i got 90 percent of my Stat wars black series figures. The main problem with The employees is that they don't give a flying fuck.

No, they don't, most make far more than minimum wage. When I was at Best Buy, I started at $9 an hour, which was in 2006. Minimum wage at that time in CO was $6.75. When I left BB I was making $12.50 an hour, which was in 2011.

If you don't like the pay, don't work there. That is why I am against a $15/hour wage for fast food workers. They have no business making that amount of money because they aren't doing $15 worth of work. $10 an hour is the most they need, which is still beyond damn generous.

Exactly.

Anyway, I finished X-Men Evolution today and overall, it was an average series. Hell, most of the series was more of a high school drama than a super hero show. It also never made sense at times because we had one episode where the second door to Apocalypse was opened, but then the next episode has the team on a cruise. WTF?! Yeah, let's forget that the world is close to coming to end so we can have a trip to the Bahamas.

Also, except for the Brotherhood, none of the villains were every truly developed and there were a lot of loose plot threads that were left hanging. Like what was the point of introducing Legion and having him leave saying he would be back if he actually wasn't? Oh, and while I liked the stuff with Apocalypse as a whole, the main attraction was barely on screen and pretty much did nothing. In fact, he was just as bad as the current movie version we have. WOW!! The Four Horsemen didn't even make sense because there was nothing in their powers to make them resemble the characters. Magneto was probalby war, but Xavier, Storm, and Mystique do not fit the bill for the other three Horsemen.

Another thing I didn't like was how Wolverine stopped using his brownish orange costume to suddenly wear a black, maskless outfit. What the hell was up with that? It was a pointless change and didn't fit when no one else changed their costumes.

The animation was pretty good for the most part though and the music was adequate. Some of the voices were completely miscast though while others, like Kitty, were purrfect. Although, since I had just come of watching Gundam Seed and Destiny I couldn't help but make references to the characters they voiced there (like Moonstar being Flay and the Hydra Scientist being Ramius).

In the end, this show was a mixed bag. It had a lot of entertaining moments, but there was just way too much fluff and filler without enough super heroing around. My favorite episodes would have to include Dark Horizons, Walk on the Wild Side, Self-Possessed, and Ghost of a Chance. My least favorite episodes are really anything that featured Spyke as the main focus and Sins of the Son. I'm just glad I didn't spend money to see this series over again.

Oh, and Hulu also seems to have the 90s Spider-Man cartoon on it, so I guess I've got a little less than a month to get through it before my free trial ends. Why can't they just put it out on DVD?

@Dr Kain, I forgot to mention on your write up of X-Men 145-150. Yeah I kind of felt that a lot of that was low points in Claremont's run, too, with the exception of issue #150. You are so close to the original Brood saga (most of the 160's). Such a fantastic story. I honestly rank it as #3 or #4 of the approximately first half of Claremont's run (prior to Mutant Massacre when all the crossovers start coming in.) Definitely DOFP and Dark Phoenix are #1/2 and debatable which is which, and I'm torn on the Brood Saga and the original Phoenix Saga being #3 and #4. After the Brood saga comes the Morlocks and introduction of Rogue to the team, but after that it kind of goes more into a more characterization/less action mode, still great stuff especially by today's standards but not quite as intense, especially as there is not a particular single storyline/arc but rather 30 odd issues that don't have a set story, if you get what I'm saying.

Enjoy the reading though man, the first Claremont run is IMO the gold star of comics, the best you can get. Good times good times.

And this is the same reason i got into with you last time.... NO ONE is forced to work in retail and accept low high school, college kid, retiree wages. It's by choice. as far as you trying to shoot off saying customers are unreasonable and ask for too much. sorry to bring to light to you that's part of the job when working in super markets, retail stores etc. there is no acceptable reason to being unprofessional when that's what your job REQUIRES you to do with customers on a regular. keep in mind retail is definitely not for everyone.

I agree with you 100% on your statement. There is no excuse for being a crap employee.... We all have to make a living to support ourselves family members, hobbies etc. however If someone just does not like working where they are at or doesn't feel the wages are good enough. then i believe it's time to start looking for something that you like and will make the good money. no need to take it out on the customers and make yourselves look bad.

Amazon has the Captain America wave 3 figures up. It's not a care for me, mine have already been shipped/delivered (and I'll see them soon yay!!!) but for those interested:

Wonder Man - https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Inch-L...el+legends+eel

Eel - https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Legend...1MCWX4812N180P

Scarlet Witch - https://www.amazon.com/Captain-Ameri...KSC6GG5DVMMX9E

Captain France...err America (sorry, injoke on my planned custom) - https://www.amazon.com/Captain-Ameri...QKN9TG9617D3VS

Iron Skull - https://www.amazon.com/Captain-Ameri...D2PQJV5V4BXJ7G

Captain Britain - https://www.amazon.com/Captain-Ameri...JTQV1HZ95K6J1J

These are from third party sellers. Ranging from mid $20's to mid $30's pricing, except for one being higher (doesn't take a genius to figure out which one), so I'd hold off until Amazon directly gets them in stock . Just providing links so you can add to your wishlist since I haven't seen them on here yet and if I have, I'm sorry for the duplicate information.
