I love the set...best Hasbro set in a long time...all are a ten to me...even though that Vision is a retread...he is my favorite...interesting what great paint apps, a new cape, and small change to the head sculpt can do for a figure...

My local grocery store got the Space Venom wave (seems they've completely skipped the Giant-Man and X wave) and they were only $14.95 each so I scooped up Hobgoblin.

@Symbi
Can't argue the idea of "great minds." lol The two characters represent an interesting fight that could have totally happened. I always considered Adrian's story to be a more realistic approach to an ultra-violent vigilante hero. Eventually the wanton violence will have you spiraling into madness, and very possibly, end with suicide just as it did with Vigilante. Cool take on a flawed class of heroes, in my opinion. |

A Legends score at the local grocery store is always a good way to start, or finish the day.

HEB which is a Texas local grocery chain. Since it's not national the fact that it even gets toys is nice and frequently (again since they aren't national) they put the wrong price on items which is usually a deal but then they're never certain to get anything at any one time. So it's sorta like a gamble but every now and then they pay off. When the Legends line kicked off its new style with the ASM2 wave I got Carnage for $12, or when they did the Infinite 4" line I got that Wasp for $2, but then they don't stock new stuff until like the next quarter (if even) and the pegs collect dust.
It's always nice to go in for some necessities like milk and produce but to also walk out with a toy of a maniac.

I like HEB even just as a grocery store they have good prices on the more basic things like milk, produce, and meat. Some of the best steaks I've ever had have come from HEB. The toy section used to be this little half-aisle deal but I found many MU figures there. They didn't start getting 6" toys until recent-ish when my local store upgraded into an HEB-plus so now it has a full toy aisle.

Generic Error Generic Error They have some others for super cheap, but they only offer free shipping on orders over $50. Also they (Hasbro Toy Shop) sell directly on Ebay, but they already sold all the Hulkbuster figures last week. They might add more since they are still available on their site. |

Thanks, I like 'em dynamic lol @Lapu Thanks, man. I just photoed him. Although, you are right, he's glaringly missing from my Defenders 'founding fathers' picture. As much as I love my TB Surfer (all of my TB figs, really), a conversation on another toy-site has reignited the burning fire I have to get a new Surfer figure. Mini-boycott, I guess? It won't last long. I've been champing at the bit to do something I've had in mind with Surfer and that set-up with Imperiex was sort of a dry run. I doubt this idea can wait for Hasbro to deliver a new Radd... ol-skool Edit: ![]() |

@Jmacq1
Thank you. This sincerely made me "lol." I have always considered the original Defenders to be so much more powerful than the original Avengers. Even with the extended teams, the Avengers only have the 'numbers' IMO. I couldn't have summed it up any better than you have already...awesome observation. |

Finally got some photos cropped, so here's a quick shot of the fantastic results from last week's TRU sale.
![]() I always figured that the difference was that the Avengers acted more like a team/squadron, with defined roles and and enough mutual trust/understanding that they could perform well in most combat and large-scale circumstances, while the Defenders were more like a bunch of guys who are kind-of friends being like, "there's this thing going on, we should deal with it," but not really being able to work together in the long-term.

@BB
Not really a referendum on which team was/is better, more precise, or most effective. Just an observation between two, apparently, like minds of straight up power. That said, I don't see any feat that the Avengers could accomplish that the Defenders couldn't manage just as easily...if not more easily given the abilities of the sorcerer supreme and that ole' pesky power cosmic. Also, discord and distrust have been features of many an Avengers squad...and...I'm not even certain I would call the Defenders friends. Hah! Not the 'popular' opinion, to be sure, given the movies and bandwagon fans. I view it very much as I do JLA vs JSA. The JSA is the far more potent squad (IMO), while also not being the 'favorite' among readers... |
