Found this today at TRU. This makes the 5th AIM/Hydra goon someone has stolen in my area (that I know of). Whatever ass did this much be a real sick puppy.

I took it up to the service desk when I found it. The lady went from a cheerful expression thinking I was buying something to a "what the hell is this look".

Yup. And they are stock right up front! Literally 12 feet from the cash registers.

Keep an eye out on forums for anyone from your area posting pics of their "awesome" Hydra/Aim army builds or continuously selling loose goons on ebay... chances are that's your culprit.

I imagine it's a nightmare running any kind of security in a store that size, but how could a person quietly and discretely fish a figure out of a package like that? Crazy.

I never see anyone from my city on any of the sites I go to. I know there are collectors here as stuff gets bought. I've ran into some of them at stores and through kijiji deals though.

That's just it. The box is right there on the pegs behind a few others. I did some LP stuff for Best Buy when I was a teenager and they needed someone to work the camera. Typically a thief would pick up the figures and then go to a dark corner and do their deed. At that point I would expect the boxes to get hidden on a shelf or in the top stock or something. Not put right back on the peg.

Man, that really, REALLY blows. At my Toys R Us, the Captain America ML's are on a top peg, and I'm a shorter guy, so I see the Marvel Now Cap's/Agents of AIM/Hydra names on the bottom of the package first. I'd be so cheesed if I saw that, got excited, then found out it was empty.

Anyways, getting back to more positive note, I got my second AIM soldier from Ebay today (at a markup, ya can't win 'em all, I guess, haha.) Check out the display, ya'll!

I hope the retailers complain to Hasbro about this. As much as I like the packaging, it needs to be more secure. I found this last week at TRU and turned it in to the cashier. Had to explain to her that it should be one of the two figures shown on the back of the package. Another collector friend found that someone swapped either Black Cat or Spiderwoman for a DC Catwoman.

Well, if it's the HYDRA soldier they're swiping, I can't really blame 'em. Those weapons are gosh-awful, lol.

this is deplorable as well but i dont understand why spider-man infinite series and captain america infinite series have different prices. im assuming thats the reason this person swapped the internal packaging of the beetle with the hydra fig

They're actually the same price now, before they weren't.

Well, they might've done it 'cause the AIM soldier/Zemo figure that used to be in the package is loads better than that Beetle figure, and the Beetle is relatively easier to find. It's also been noted that the Captain America figures don't have the folding tabs taped down, making it a lot easier for someone to swap out figures, especially since both the Spidey and Cap waves' packaging is the exact same shape.

Ya, I caved and bought 3 AIM soldiers on ebay for about 35-40 dollars. I gave up combing stores for them.

It really sucks that there are people stealing figures that we collectors would happily pay for, but in a way, it shows you how popular the new ML lines are. It still sucks though

cause if the fastest selling ones get stolen they won't show up as sales and maybe it doesn't get reordered.
