Why pay $25 at F&S for the figures that aren't rare? You could have gotten at least half of them for retail or less online with ease. I got Marvel Now Cap for $13 shipped and Spider-Man for $9. I think it's mostly the army builders, Widow, and a couple of the ASM swaps that are harder to get. $25 is a fair price for some of them right now. Unless you don't like waiting for shipping. I get that some people are fine paying more to have it now.

Yeah thats sadly me. I cannot stand waiting for shipping. Especially recently as I have been out of the house a lot the new mail carrier has been so awesome as to leave my packages on the porch or on the path leading up to my porch. One day my wife was home and I wasn't she heard the mail truck pull in front of the house so she started for the door and when she was standing in front of the door (still inside though) she sees our wonderful mail carrier chuck a package from the truck to our porch all without ever getting out also came home to a 100+ anime figure already opened for me on the porch. Luckily the would be thief probably assumed it was just some stupid toy and left it

although I will admit I have felt a little burned with the recent figures as I have found all of them at retail minus the wave 2s of caps or Spidermans. I jumped the gun on those ones cuz I thought it was gunna be like Avengers wave all over again. I never saw even one of those at retail =/

That happens. I feel most of these have hit retail pretty well and I've seen just about everything. I'm not much into Legends so I didn't buy the stuff. It just sells really fast at first. Even at the $27 TRU here is charging everything but Spidey and Cap sold quickly the first few cases. At least if you know they are still shipping then you can usually count on finding something eventually.

I still kick myself for being stubborn and not wanting to pay over retail on red Marvel Legends Deadpool. Saw one at at local toy show for $35 and I laughed it off.

"I'll find it eventually" I said. "Soon...I should find one soon." I said a few weeks later.

After a month I gave up because they were $80 on eBay.

I'm a jackass. Some stuff is just not worth driving around and wasting gas over. Yes, the thrill of the hunt is always a great feeling but it's fine to spend a little extra and avoid all the hassle if you have a busy life and such.

So, uh, anyone know what this is? I only ask because I've never seen it before, and it actually looks kind of slick in those colors.

Looks like a fake.

I've seen tons of figures like that since Fall of last year.

Gold Ultron figures for $20 from Hong Kong...LOL

I don't think it's real. Look at the silver one (the other one he is selling) between the torso joint you can see some red and at the arm/shoulder joint as well. My guess is it is just some repaint to make it seem more valuable. Also on the white one they painted the belt some silver colors...and from what I have seen the manufacturer never does that especially on this figure that is an older model. There's also some inconsistencies that tell me it was just painted and not molded in those colors. They probably did use lead paints of some sort though so it will probably last.

When you're shopping on ebay, its easy to see the difference between honest sellers and scalpers. Its the same when you go to conventions. The was a convention here on a Saturday just after the Rocket Racoon BAF wave came out and sellers inside wanted $15 more per figure than TRU across the street, I already had mine from BBTS, but it's ridiculous to think that paying through the nose at any time is acceptable.

IMO, TRU is scalping in Canada with the Infinite waves, I'm sure not everyone feels the same, but hey, if that's their business practice then so be it. My suggestion to those that can't find these or other figures at retail is to buy the case online and sell or trade the ones you don't want. In the end it may turn out that you spent a little more for the 1 per case figure, but you know you have it. I used to be a regular with BBTS, but their prices went a little screwy lately, so between that and the shipping and the drive to the border to pick them up, I just order from my LCS and pay roughly the same amount overall.

It may not be your option, but if you can, establish a good relationship with your LCS and have the figures held for you. But between WM, Target, Kmart and TRU is the USA, a lot of you lucky buggers don't have to worry as much and or pay as much.

Toyark is a great forum with lots of good people looking out for each others wants/needs. If you're looking for a certain hard to find figure someone here probably has it, so when you're out and about and you find something that may be worth a shot at a trade - go for it, because even if you can't get it now, there are other hard to finds coming down the track later and it could be you that finds more than the one or two that you need for your collection.

a lot of those figures from Hong Kong or China aren't fakes so much as rejected factory stock or perhaps test figures. The higher the price though and I do start to worry about knock-offs. I feel like making a figure and everything in this way wouldn't be cost effective for them.

I know the Gold Ultron I have is not fake. It is molded in gold and the detail looks like a typical ML figure.

How am I in the wrong for doing that when rather I do it or not they will still scalp.

Trust me I know MOST of the F&S vendors have ebay stores. I know EXACTLY who it who pays employees to hold stuff for him, heck I was behind him at toys r us when he had them hold a series of toys that were hitting soon and trust me you don't shop in LA without know when one of Toy arenas folks are in the store with you. I am not saying they are right what I am saying is I don't feel I am in the wrong.
Ah ok cool cool. I understand now, and that is crazy, and I'm glad I don't hunt in LA any more...Also the Avengers legends were poorly distributed because they were Walmart exclusives only, heck I barely saw them where I live as well and we barely have scalper's here. And we all know how well Walmart gets there ish together

I'm kind of surprised you don't just buy the cases from BBTS then? Considering you can either get the single ones that they sell and probably still save $ or even the bigger cases and sell them off to board member's here? That's what I used to do when I lived in LA, I knew majority of the time I wouldn't find jack, so I opted for BBTS and pay a lil while saving on gas and time. Cause yeah that's another reason I hated to hunt in LA, long ass lines!

I still classify them under fakes/bootlegs.

I've bought a few bootleg DC Universe, Minimates & other figures just because they were dirt cheap. Most have been complete crap and regrettable purchases.

I'd say the only exception are the bootleg Lego's. Since there's not as many parts or that detailed, they're pretty close to the real things. $10-12 for a set of 8 Marvel or DC Lego's (or as I call them L3G0's)...can't beat that.

Y'know, I'd guess that this and that silver/black one are bootlegs, but the paint looks like a factory job. Kinda hard to explain, but it looks like the ROML X-Force Deadpool I have.

That's probably because they used factory paints.

I've gotten a dozen DCUC figures from China and the only problem I ever basis if a leg or something was broken. Always got a replacement sent for free and the figures move and look just as good as the store bought ones. If they didn't come out of the same factory I would be surprised. For 1/4 of the price I'll never complain.

The only thing I suggest you NOT get from China are Figma figures or similar to those. They are crappy quality and look nothing like the original. Trust me.

Man I have to find this f*#&&$ing Black Widow.

My girlfriend just found out about the Hot Toys figure. At $189.99...Yeesh. The Marvel Legends one should be enough to distract her for a few months.

The paint is bang on, not so much with the silver and black one. I've never bought any figures from China directly, but I must say this one has me tempted...
