Same here. Well I got the first movie Star-Lord because I overall like the trench coat + satchel look and the comic set had yet to go cheap enough for me to bite. Once Hastings was dying I got it for $70 and was very happy.

That's the first time I'v heard that. I loved the movie and I usually hate comic movie adaptations, hate may be harsh, but I think they usually suck. Maybe because I didn't know to much about Guardians in the way I do X-Men or Avengers.

My mom hated the movie too, but then, she hates most things that are actually remotely entertaining. Part of it was because she can't stand music from the 70s while the other half is just that she is an emotionless bitch.

As obvious it sounds I loved the movie, the story the music. I love 70's music. I mean I will wholeheartedly listen to 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's music. I just remember to listening to the radio with my father when I was a kid which made it nostalgic. It was also fucking hilarious. Most people didn't know about Guardians from a comic standpoint but when I heard about it and saw featurettes before the movie even came out. I'm like damn this sounds like IT'S GOING TO BE AN AMAZING MOVIE. Also I am a Sci-Fi fan so it appealed to all the parts of myself.

Yeah that is the Only MCU movie I didn't like.My Personal Favorite is Winter Soldier or Civil war I don't count those Terrible X men movies but The main reason I didn't like it because of Chris Pratt himself. Like if it was any other actor playing Star Lord i probably would have loved the movie. But yeah I know I am for sure in the minority on this one lol.

Unfortunately for many of us who knew and loved the Guardians before the movie it is kind of a love/hate thing. Seeing the Guardians on the big screen and getting a lot of outstanding Marvel Cosmic Legends due to its success...AWESOME. As an adaptation of the Annihilation/DnA era Guardians (as stated was their goal)....WAY OFF.

I personally love the movie when I can step out of the "but that's not this way" attitude. Thankfully I generally fall into the "HELL YEAH Groot is on the big screen!" mentality. That being said, aspects of the movie thoroughly annoyed me such as Star Lord's overall attitude. It was just so contrary to every way he was depicted up to that point that it felt out of place. I would have also much preferred a villain other than Ronan as I prefer the sort of anti-hero to superiority obsessed jackwad version of him.

I am still very optimistic about GotG2 and already love what I saw in the trailers. I just hope that (should he appear at all) James "I hate Nova" Gunn does not ruin Richard. He already made a joke of the Nova Corps.

More cosmic based Legends...WIN!

Is Nova supposed to be in this one or just the nova Corps. Either way I'm going to see it in theaters cuz I'm all in with these MCU movies. Might change after the Spider-Man homecoming though lol

Nope. Gunn stated when he made the first one he hates rick rider nova ( and appearantly starlord being half spartaxan which is kinda f&$king crucial to his character so way to cock that one up gunn ) and as long as hes ruining, i mean directing, gotg movies rick wont show up, its why despite my enjoying the films i hate james gunn and wish he would not have been chosen to direct them,

No word on Nova at all as far as I have heard. It is possible he might show up but I kind of doubt it. If he did, I would expect a younger version and not the Nova Force equipped Nova Prime (used for the Legends figure for those not aware) version. Particularly as (as I last read/heard) Marvel is billing Carol as their most powerful hero going into Infinity War and a fully powered Nova Prime version of Rich (following comic grades of power) would probably fall too close her level. That really depends on how closely they adhere the source though.

On another note....yay pre edit quoting! I really should learn to fully read my posts and make changes BEFORE I submit them LOL!

Haha thanks man. I wonder why they wouldn't put him in the Movie even a Cameo would do for me.

Ha my thoughts exactly he needs a Solo movie. They also need to get The Netflix guys to at least cameo in one of the Movies. Preferably Daredevil

The way I look at it is another GotG film success opens more doors for further cosmic based characters in film and as Legends. The upcoming Sue figure is a good sign that we may get more characters that would fall into Fox's film rights even without a companion film. Since a fair number of cosmic races/characters (Skrulls and Silver Surfer) are most likely also part of that split it is encouraging to see that we may not have to suffer in the Legends department despite companion film tie-ins.

I will be honest, I just want a really well done Cosmo. I love that dog. Slap him riding on the front of Surfer's board with Nova flying beside and I can call it a day LOL!

Yeah man that's awesome. The better GOTG performs the better chance of getting less famous or Obscure characters in or their own movies Like I was Super happy that Ant man got his Own movie and a sequel since he is one of my favorites.

This has been the one aspect where the MCU has failed if you ask me. Now I can understand why heroes like Cap and Thor would have little interest in the goings on in downtown NYC, yet at the same time, it would also be nice if they were actually mentioned by name in the shows, or to even have a cameo appearance of some sort, be on a show newscast or actually showing up to greet the up and coming heroes. How cool would it have been to seen Daredevil spotting Spider-Man on his way home from a night of crime fighting with his radar sense, or Tony Stark showing up to try and get Luke off the hook and recruit him for his upcoming battle with Cap as he was being taken away...

Agents of Shield has especially failed at this, and it feels like it's own entity, as opposed to running along side by side with the MCU. I mean, shouldn't Coulson have appeared by now in one of the MCU films since, at least to say hi to his friends who probably still think he's dead? The MCU connection was why I started watching AoS in the first place and the lack of that same MCU outside of the occasional rrference has been the reason I have since tuned out.

Where did you see this? I only ever saw Gunn say that he wanted Peter to be the only Earthling in the movie and that Nova would tie things too much to Earth/diminish Peter's loneliness.
