See, now that's interesting. It took me a little bit to warm up to the Enchantress sculpt, I wasn't crazy about it at first. I've come around a bit since buying her, but so far I think the prettiest female sculpts in the Legends line are Magik and:
![]() Congrats on the haul, by the way. One thing is for sure though, lady action figure quality has come a very long way since I was a kid. And the selection has grown exponentially. What with more ladies buying them up and parents getting them for their daughters (and sons!). It's fantastic. Also, Medusa is mandatory. She's inevitable. Obviously. I'd simply prefer to have one sooner than later. ![]()

Same. The bit with the eyes was obvious, but I didn't know the entire thing was CGI. Not quite as snugly nestled within the uncanny valley as CGI Tarkin was, for me. Last edited by Brownfinger; 02-13-2017 at 02:46 PM.. |

It's his figure and he can sell it how he feels, but asking for a best offer, only to counter with an offer that's pennies less than his original one is really shrewd. Yeah...it's a better price, but seriously...does he think that he's a Walmart? That's practically a rollback...

The ENTIRE costume was CG, not just the eyes. They had a parkour stuntman wear a green suit, and used CG to fill in the details in post production. Thanks to the Sony/Marvel deal taking place so far into production, there wasn't time to get a finished physical product ready, plus the super secretive nature of getting Spidey into the film itself.
![]() It's the same with Black Panther; they CG'd over an actual costume instead of a green suit, partly so they could get it to look as right as possible lighting- and other visual properties-wise by having a reference for them in each frame, instead of having to guess those properties. |

Wow that looks like a great sculpt job! It's going
to be awesome once it's finished. Heck it's awesome now!!! Question though, if they do reveal a JF Thor during Toyfair are you still going to finish it up or leave it? I can see either, you put some work into it already but at the same time it's like putting all that work into it for something similar you can buy. Of course, yours may well be better than the official one. |

When is Toyfair? Mine will be done by the end of the month. Normally the When Legends are released the don't have near the detail they had when first shown. There are very Few exception that can all be counted on 1 hand missing a Thumb and Finger that hold up to there Prototype showing paint and detail wise.

Actually, if you look at behind the scenes stuff for Civil War, you'd know that the suit theu CG'd over wasn't green, but was actually the preliminary suit design that we see on the ML figure, incorrect emblem and all:
![]() It's the same with Black Panther; they CG'd over an actual costume instead of a green suit, partly so they could get it to look as right as possible lighting- and other visual properties-wise by having a reference for them in each frame, instead of having to guess those properties. Still didn't change the fact that it looked REALLY CG to me...Maybe I'm jaded... @En Sabah Nerd: While Tarkin looked off, I think it had more to do with the fact that they kept having him doing this ominous look while they played with the lighting to make him look even more sinister. It threw the whole thing off. Now the Carrie Fisher shot...that blew my mind, because I could have sworn we were looking at footage of Carrie from 1977. As you said, one of those cases of so close...yet so far away to go... Since this is my 2000th official post here on the Ark, what better way to celebrate it with a Walgreens Legends haul! ![]() The best part was the price...see those little orange clearance stickers on Nova and Starlord?...They honored that for all of them! I originally wasn't planning on getting kid Nova or Darkhawk...but at that price, I said why not, since I'm building Titus anyways. If only they had Yondu and Drax as well. ![]() And no...you can't see the rest of the receipt, can't let the wife see what I got her for Valentine's day...(other than the kid's gallon of milk...) lol ![]() |

So...of course...I come back for post 2001 with a HUGE grievance over the new Legends wave, which is really starting to bother me, as I've noticed a steady increase in QC issues that last couple of waves...
First off...Starlord...why in the world did they use two different colored plastics for the bottom half of the figure, one for the hips, and one for the pants? It's really off putting, and on top of that, the plastic is very stiff and rigid compared to previous releases, and feels hollow and rigid... Which brings me to my next grievance...stuck joints. Usually this has never been an area of problem for me, as I have literally not had an issue with this involving Marvel Legends since the Toybiz days. Yet, Starlord had a stuck ankle right out of the package, and with the newer, cheaper feeling plastic that they used for the sculpt...this happened... ![]() I didn't even get a chance to apply heat to it before it snapped, because it did so right at the slightest bit of pressure AS I WAS PULLING HIM FROM THE PLASTIC TRAY. Be VERY careful with this figure when taking him out of the package... In addition...I have ANOTHER stuck joint, only this time on the Titus BAF piece for his right leg. It's the same mold as the Space Venom leg, only again, made of a cheaper feeling plastic, only on this piece, the calf rotation is completely stuck. I've tried heat and cutting, and still can't get the damn thing to rotate. Kinda kills the mood I was feeling having found these at such a great price, as I now might have to replace the leg, as well as the Starlord figure. I'm starting to become a little bit concerned that the increased rate in which Hasbro is shipping these out is starting to affect the QC, as these figures are starting to feel more and more rushed as of late. The issues first started to rear their heads with the Abomination wave, and then again with the Sandman wave, and now here they are again with Titus. I understand that Legends demand is at an all time high, but it would really benefit them in the long run if they would slow down the pace a little bit and make sure these things are up to par heading out the gate. I don't want to be having to treat Legends figures the way I already treat NECA figures...as precious, delicate relics guaranteed to fall apart in your hands should you so much as look at them funny... |

^ That kid Nova figure is tiny. And at first I thought my Iceman didn't even have thigh swivels it was so tight.
That Mockingbird and Hawkeye pic is awesome. |

Whoot! no time for pictures but my house is safe - it now has Guardians in it! LOL. And like a true OOB collector short on space, opened them, assembled BAF and moved them to a box..now on to the next thing!
Sometimes I think that what someone said in the last few pages is right, it's oftentimes not so much the having as the anticipation. As soon as I get something I've been "dying" to get, instead of enjoying what I got, it's always about what's next. There's always a handful of exceptions but that's pretty typical of me. Always on the lookout for the future. Then again, the X-wave has eclipsed everything else for me since July, so there's no surprise I've moved on to the next thing, when that IS the next thing, aside from the exclusives that should be hitting between now and then. The stock joint on the Titus leg really has me concerned though. It is literally the same exact mold as the Space Venom, yet it has no rotation at the calf. There aren't many reviews of this figure up yet online, but I did manage to find an early review on YouTube and I noticed on their figure, the calf did not rotate either when the reviewer attempted to rotate it. I am wondering if they eliminated that joint all together, or if this is really a QC issue with the figure? It would seem odd to remove articulation from a figure mold that already had it. Of course I don't have the left leg to compare it to, because I could care less about Vance Astro, and am not willing to pick that figure up just for the part. If anyone else has the right leg of Titus I would be curious to know if the calf joint is also frozen on theirs as well. It would most certainly help my sanity a bit.
