apparently the new spidey wave isn't available everywhere yet.... i still haven't seen any updates on BBTS.com and they tend to sometimes get things in slower then retail stores.
I need a Spider-man 2099 Mayday Parker possibly spidey depending on how i feel about his look. Does anybody know when the walmarts, targets, toys R us stores restock their shelves or get new shipments in? i might try hunting some down soon, just to see if they are around my way in Florida yet. It probably varies per location as to when they start. I know both Wal-Marts around me start bringing boxes out between 11pm-12am. Meijer on the other hand is closer to 2am. They may not start stocking until later but you can usually open a box and take what you want. Just be courteous if you go that route and do not leave a mess. If you un-stack a pallet to get a box, stack it back up when you are done. Stuff like that. Jin Saotome has a good write-up on his site about going around during stocking hours. I would suggest anyone who wants to go that route give it a read. If stores are not 24 hours, like Toys R Us and some Targets, their stock times could vary greatly. Some do stocking after they close, some before they open and some do some stocking during the day. As for when they receive trucks, sometimes you can ask an employee and they will tell you. If you have the patience, you can also figure out what time they tend to bring out inventory and drop in throughout a week to see when the toy section has pallets. I'll throw in my 2 cents with what I've seen thus far.
I am super happy with the Odin wave, and the 1st spidey wave will be bought in due time. The second spidey wave is hit and miss for me, I'm not familiar with some of the characters, and thus the desire to have them isn't so great. As a big Iron Man collector, I will need to acquire Mark 43, that new War Machine, Iron Man Now costume and Hulkbuster. I AM PISSED WE DIDN'T SEE RESCUE!!!!!!!, I will also need to get Bulldozer to finish off the Wrecking Crew. I want to get MS Carnage to go beside my MS Venom, I also want MS Cable to go with my MS Deadpools and regular Deadpool collection. I can tell Hasbro has been paying attention to the market by releasing the unmasked versions of Hawkeye,Cap and a Banner figure, gonna take away from Glassman custom's sales a bit. however I think his qc is better then Hasbro's . |

I get my advice on upcoming stuff from a lower level Hasbro employee things could be delayed by bad weather ect but east cost soon.
Just what I know from someone who knows more than me who has access to things I do not. Anyhow, very excited for the next two waves of legends and spidey...I hate to admit it, but Hasbro knowcked it out of the park. Between legends and Icons....I am a happy...boy! |

I might consider jumping on the MS Ant-man and if i do that'll be the only movie version figure that is on my shelf..... after just literally looking on Ebay, the new spidey wave is already available, and not just the loose ones but also the sealed in their package ones... This just in: new Spidey figure can indeed stand on one hand... =) Some down time in my office today, so I thought I'd find out if he could.

you also have to account for the fact that you can usualy move greater quantities of 3.75" figures. so a consumer who would hesitate to spend 40$ on two unique figures might prefer to get two for 20-24$ and even by jmacq's math that's a 50% better profit for the manufacturer. also, the price of plastic has very little to do with production cost. the PVC composites toys are made of cost less than a dollar a pound. so your average figure of any scale is only a couple cents worth of plastic. the paint costs more. but your big expense is in tooling her there are two issues that make 6" figures more cost prohibitive to produce, size, as a large mold costs a lot more to produce (more metal, and more actual tooling) and, well... size again as you can fit fewer molds into an injection machine per shoot, so you get fewer parts per press, which means more man hours to produce the same number of 6" units as opposed to 3.75", or now 2". you could also factor in things like amount of paint, and detail required to produce something that looks good in 6" scale (the bigger you go the more detail you need), plus there is no way around it, you need more packaging for bigger figures. I just can't see how Hasbro makes the 6" scale more economically viable than 3.75.
All I'm saying is that this business is still run by money. If the 6" figures weren't more economically viable, then Marvel Legends would still be withering on the vine rather than thriving and 3.75" figures would still be ruling the roost instead of getting downgraded or minimized. Yeah, Dev teams can have their preferences, but all the preferences in the world can't make the bean counters agree with them, and the bean counters are the ones with the real power in any corporation. If Dev Teams genuinely pulled the strings, the toy market would look VERY different, since most Dev Teams are genuinely made up of people who are as much fans of the toys as we are. |
