Yep. He and Star Lord were supposed to come back from the alternate reality where they were trapped. However, Marvel cancelled the run before that could be explained to make way for the new Benids GotG and Loeb Nova. Then Bendis gets to decide what happened and up and kills him off instead of bringing him back. All while blaming DnA saying they killed him off. Andy Lanning sat down with fans awhile back and talked about the original plans. It would have been awesome.

I didn't know all that. *Tries very hard to resist commenting on a particularly writer's phone-in quality and blissfully ignoring that there is a whole universe going on outside of his own books (and failing somewhat)*

I was actually very content with the deaths at the end of the Thanos Imperative because it was one of those noble sacrifice moments. Nova and Star-lord died killing Thanos to stop him from destroying the main universe. It was heroic and clean plus they got a nice statue and the comic inevitability that nobody stays dead forever unless they're uncle Ben or Batman's parents. Except that when Thanos and Star-lord made their returns Nova was nowhere to be found and later when Bendis tried to explain what all went down he turned a heroic sacrifice into "whoops, only one of us died and it wasn't even the villain."

I feel we're treading way off-topic.

I think we need some of those Revengers from the maw or whatever it was...from The Realm Of Kings. Who doesn't want "dark mirror" versions of their heros. Customizers...customize away!

I've been thinking about it, and I wish Hasbro and Marvel worked closer together to put out figures that tie in with the current storylines in comics. Similar to the Hobgoblin wave being released near the Spider-Verse arc. (Though I suspect this was a coincidence.) Secret Wars has been a fun ride, and there are tons of figures I'd love to see. If they can create and put out movie figures to correspond with the films, why can't they do it for the comics??

Because way more people will go to see the movies than will read the comics so it's a safer move to match up your toy line with the movies than with the comics.

I agree !!! after reading the current secret wars title and tie ins here's my list of wants that probably would never be made or just no time soon

1 Old Man Logan
2 Devil Dinosaur his current look
3 Maestro
4 Marvel Zombies whom have their tie in book right now as well. i know MS made a few but om talking about a whole wave of them like in marvel zombies Vs age of ultron.

hell why not a box set of the X-men (92) looks.

If they were to even think about making any of these characters i would probably go nuts !!

Oh, I understand the movie waves, but lately we have been getting waves (Rhino, Hulkbuster, Ultron) full of random characters that are paraded under a movie banner that give little to no support for the actual movies. I'm not asking for an end to all of the movie waves. I just think there should be atleast one wave a year focused on a current storyline. In my opinion, it would be better than waves of randompalooza!

Warning, barrage of pictures incoming. Too late. :-)

Scarlet Spidey - A LOT better than I was expecting. He has the same hands as Pizza Spidey, but the joints are nice and tight unlike that figure and the paint apps rock.

Kraven - The sculpt is amazing, however, the eyes on mine are jacked up and he has loose joints. I'm going to keep my eye out for him in stores to get a replacement.

White Tiger - Aside from the fact that she can't stand up for ****, she is a really nice looking figure. I do wish her hair could rotate though.

Misty Knight - I think she has messed up eyes too, but it could be the lighting. Like Tiger, she can not stand up on her own either. I had to have her on a DC stand for some of my pictures. I just don't get why Hasbro can not make their females stand up because none of them seem to be able to do so.

Superior Venom - The worst figure in the wave. The pain apps are sloppy, the tentacles don't stay attached, and overall, the figure is just stupid.

Chameleon - Wow, this is probably the best one in the wave. I love him. Three different guns and three different heads. Unfortunately, the neck peg is bigger than most, so the Spidey heads don't sit on them very well, nor does Coulson's since his neck's peg is smaller than Chameleons. I love that one of the guns has a removable cartridge, but it really doesn't stay in that well, so it might have been better had it been one piece. Unfortunately, he doesn't photo very well with the flash on.

Ghost Rider - Love him, especially the movable jaw. Sadly, he just seems out of place without a bike and the lack of any weapons is quite disappointing. The sculpt is excellent though.

Rhino - This dude is big, amazingly big!! He also has a great range of articulation for his size and is probably the best BAF I own from Hasbro at this point in time. Not sure what is up with the masked head, but whatever. It is nice to have options.

The "masked" Rhino head is from Ends of the Earth, I quite fancy it overall.

I really liked how Rhino died, I've been a fan of Rhino for a long time but his emotional development from Rage of the Rhino and its sequel story was a nice new take on his identity and then his "I don't want to live anymore" attitude in Ends of the Earth made him pretty great to read. I'd also think a Silver Sable toy would've been good in this wave since it builds Rhino and she's fairly under-appreciated as is so any toy would be nice.

lol

Speaking of GR, I've spent some more time with him I have come to realize that his joints are quite loose, especially in the waist. I think I will definitely have to exchange him because I worry that it he is going to gain spinning waist action in the future.

Also wanted to mention that if you are looking for the Ant-Man wave in stores, check Walmart's clearance isle. I was looking for some storage boxes and came across a clearance toy isle on the other end of the store and there were four pegs full of the Ant-Man figures.

I've noticed the same thing in my area.
From the looks of it, at Wal-Mart, the Ant-Man wave is supposed to be displayed in a large four-sided cardboard display in the center of the main aisle in front of the toy area, like the GotG Legends displays from last summer.

However, I've only seen one Wal-Mart display them properly like that. The others all just shoved the Ant-Man wave into either the clearance area (even though they still ring up at full price) or their overflow section.
Frankly, I'm just glad to have found them on shelves, instead of strewn about the floor, like most items in Wal-Mart's toy area

A Silver Sable figure would be awesome. Always wanted to add her and maybe a few Galactus' Ex/Heralds. Of course another Silver Surfer would be nice since the older one is really small compared to the Legends nowadays.

I would LOVE a silver sable. but she's gotta be SUPER shiny. I have good reason to believe she will show up one day.

Yeah, Rhino has always been labeled as the dolt lackey of Spidey's rogues. It was interesting to see him change roles and experience more complex emotions albeit sinister as they were.

More than likely, she'd be cast in Ultron swirly silver plastic with highlights and accessories coated with shiny silver paint. No complaints, though. I just want her.

You know, I just thought of something. Blaze's original Ghost Rider design, the one the toy is based off of, did not actually have any chains around his body, right? If so, they should have made that chain into a whip instead.

Yeah man, it's like a weird mash up of Blaze and Dan Ketch. I can help but wonder why they did it like this.
