I just bought series 1 ToyBiz Iron-Man. I know a lot of people prefer the Hasbro one and I even got recommendations to get the Hasbro one instead, but I do like the bulkier look of the original a bit more, even despite the gorilla arms. Plus he fits in very well with the War Machine I already have.
My core Avengers are coming along pretty nicely. I'd still like a classic Giant-Man/Ant-Man, classic Hawkeye and a classic Thor. And I'm still craving a Black Widow on the Moonstone body mold. |

@SymbiSpidey
If you are looking for a classic Ant-Man, there was one in the Walmart Giant Man wave a few years back. I'm not sure how pricey he is these days. If you're into customizing, I know a lot of people have picked up the exclusive Black Ant/Ant-Man and painted it to look like original Pym. The Hawkeye that came out last year is a decent stand in for a classic Hawkeye, or at least I think he is. And I agree, Black Widow on the Moonstone buck would be great! |

![]() I loved this issue. It was my second year collecting and my first introduction to DD and Falcon. (The Netherlands had a limited number of titles that were being offered.) I get where you're coming from. Still, I have the feeling that Spider-Man got more and more powerful as the years went by. When he started out, he would have trouble defeating the Enforcers (facepalm) and around the time of #287 he needed an entire day to defeat Firelord. As I recall, the Avengers, upon arriving remarked that they hadn't realized Spidey was capable of such feats. If you take into consideration all of the circumstances surrounding the Spidey vs DD fight, I think it ended fast and decisively enough not to hinder the underlying story of "what is right/justice". Sure, Spidey was pulling his punches and Daredevil was prepared and commited to delay him. Let's not forget that if this issue had been published today, it would have been a blood-fest. Different times. |

Was there a classic Giant-Man/Goliath 6 inch in the SDCC pack? Perhaps someone is selling it loose on ebay.

Picked up my Taskmaster, Mockingbird and Sharon during a random stop into TRU on my way into work today. Grabbed the last Mockingbird on the peg. I think every Cap and Cottonmouth are still there.
After watching both Anthony's Customs and Shartimus Prime reviews on Sharon last night I spent probably 10 minutes standing there trying to decide if I wanted her. It really is a rather bleh buck. Might have to use the head and come up with a new body for her. On the other hand, Mockingbird looks better than I expected. |

I read on another forum that the X-men Line is going to have another figure in the wave not shown. I'm guessing some sort of Wolverine version since the leaked list was correct. Also that Rogue will have an extra set of un-gloved hands.

It seems like the scalpers are going crazy in my area because I cant find him anywhere. Also, about that same guy I mentioned in my last post. Not only was he trying to scalp right in front of TRU, but he even tried guilt tripping me by saying: "C'mon dad, you don't want this awesome figure for your son?". "You won't find him anywhere else" It's sad that this hobby sometimes brings the worst out of people. I'll keep looking but thanks for also keeping an eye out for me. Let me know if you find anything. Thanks bro |

OH yeah, the Wolverine was on that list. Not that too many people were probably upset he was missing. I hope he's not the missing figure, and it's someone really fantastic (and new! and green-costumed!

Not sure....I can't remember back that far. LOL. If we do get a standard Wolverine it would be nice to get a Wolverine with claws out and an extra set of hands with claws in. maybe even an extra hand with the two side claws only, so he can be extra threatening to "pop the claw." . And of course as you said the mask on and mask off, which that at least sounds likely.
I think he had two sets of hands with the Forge two pack but to be honest I'm not sure.... |

I'm actually quite fond of the hands they've been using in recent years. The ones with the removable claws.
There are a lot of flaws with the current Wolverine mold, but those hands can stay as far as I'm concerned. |

@Daetrin
Please don't take my criticisms personally, you weren't writing for Spider Man at the time and are not the source of my aggravation...and... I'm "ranting," so this opinion should be taken with a healthy grain of salt. ![]() The story for 287 was a good one, I just disliked the way that fight panned out. Your post brought me right back to that moment in time. lol (not your fault...I've got problems ![]() I did it again...I'm ranting, aren't I? LOL Sorry, I can't help myself... My first time seeing/reading Wolverine for the most part. ![]() ![]() Cool, thing is I totally forgot the beginning of the comic was just like the opening of the movie "The Wolverine" until I re-read it recently. |

Awesome series and period for Marvel. I just finished referring to that very same era...like Romita Jr, Frank's art was so much cleaner back then. Klaus Janson handled the finishing art for both Romita Jr and Miller and (IMO) helped them become as popular as they were at the time. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 02-18-2016 at 04:18 PM.. |

I'v recently tried to get back into them, but just can't stand them. No story and the art looks like a kid drew it. The ONLY good thing about them is the pages are printed on some nice material. No more newspaper type pages. I think I'll just go and pick up old 70's-80's comics for fun at about a dollar a pop. The 40-60 cent cover prices were the best. I'm actually finding out about ML figures through reading old comics which is a lot of fun. |

I'm in total agreement about the art of today. Too few artist successfully distinguish themselves from the pack. Fight panels are devoid of creativity and personality. The best you can get is often a weak approximation of the choreography from the "Raid." Characters do way too much standing around in screen-friendly line-ups and epic battles lack imagination. "Hyper-realism" is killing an important component of comics. Let me stop, before I start...I feel a rant coming on LOL |

Man that was a great story. Edit: In regards to the quality of modern artists, I think it's like any form of entertainment - you have to sift through them to find ones that take your fancy. I wouldn't necessarily call many of them outright bad, and there are plenty of brilliant workers in the industry: Olivier Coipel, Stuart Immonen, Cliff Chiang, Chris Samnee, Pia Guerra, Jerome Opeña, Phil Noto, Gabriel Hernandez Walta, Kris Anka, Russell Dauterman.. and these are just the mainstream ones plucked off the top of my head! I have toyed with the thought of getting a Black Ant to customize him into Hank Pym. I'm not a good customizer though haha.. And I like the new Hawkeye but I do want a version of him without the Winter Soldier arm. Luckily enough outside of that metal sleeve there's not much separating him from a traditional Hawkeye. |
