So I just got to open up my box of X-Men Legends and all I've got to say is....wow.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that pretty much every figure in the wave is THE best version of the characters to date, the exception may be Juggernaut (who is an awesome figure but your opinion of him versus the old ToyBiz and Select figures depends on what you're looking for in a Juggernaut) and Havok (who I think is the weak link in the wave, while still being a decent figure). I've heard of some QC issues a lot of people had, luckily, mine weren't too bad. Iceman's hips are very loose while some of his other joints were practically glued together. Luckily, I freed the frozen (haha..) joints with a bit of elbow grease, and the hips aren't loose enough for him to not hold a pose, though I may apply some floor polish in the future. Deadpool's shoulders were really tight and apparently, this is a common issue. I just did the ol' hairdryer/cold water trick and his shoulders feel very comfortable to move now. Outside of that, just minor paint scuffing here and there that in no way hurts my enjoyment of these figures. This is probably the hardest wave to rank for me because the figures are just so damn good! So for now, I'll settle with a ranking of, from worst to best: Havok (who is still decent) Everybody else |

I think I might be a little obsessed with the X-Men right now:
![]() It is so weird being interested in something I haven't been into since 1998. BTW, I watched the first volume already and this show holds up a lot better than I thought it would. I could have sworn the animation was really choppy and full of CG bits, but that doesn't seem to be the case. In fact, it still looks pretty damn good despite not being remastered. The only corny stuff happening is really some of the 90s dialog and designs. However, the stories themselves are holding up quite well and it is interesting seeing some of the stuff I just read from the 80s adapated into it with the 90s characters.

It was the '90s Spider-Man and Silver Surfer cartoons that threw in crummy CG effects, especially the Silver Surfer. The '90s X-Men is great, it actually adapts stories from the comics faithfully and properly represents most if not all characters within. It's the second best superhero cartoon to me and when Batman the animated series is number one that's still quite an achievement.

That X-Men cartoon really does hold up quite favorably today as does the Batman series. They just don't make superhero cartoons like they used to.
Well, they do, but they'll inevitably be cancelled and replaced with garbage nowadays. |

No matter how far is goes with its other properties, at some point or another, Marvel is ALWAYS going to come back to the X-Men. They know that they and Spider-Man kept them alive from 1975-2004. It's like an abused stepchild. At some point the step child is gonna take the step parent to court and there's gonna be reparations.
Just..not sure when at this point. Dr. Kain, great additions. The X-Men ANimated series is possible the single best Animated series EVER. Last edited by Captain Nash; 07-15-2016 at 04:29 PM.. |

yes! Like for the last decade they built up Cyclops and then in the last three years tried to make him this horrible "villain" and no matter how hard they tried to (AVX) HE came off looking better than Captain America. How freaking difficult is it to come off looking better than Captain America?!?!?!?! And this is coming from someone who is in no way Cyclop's biggest fan

Well, it's like I totally blame him for leaving his wife and kid for Jean. And leaving her for Emma. But as an X-Men leader he's great. It's like I don't think Bill Clinton was a bad leader of the country because of the Monica scandal. Same thing when you think about it.

after a few days with the X-Men wave I wanted to rank them.
1. Rogue - Nothing more needs to be said. TB Rogue is...horrid 2. Kitty Pryde. This one surprised me. I knew even before i wanted the wave I wanted her, but I am really liking this figure. Can't wait to see New Mutant customs. 3. Deadpool - Miles above any X-Men figures and the accessories put it above more figures than the figure would alone. 4. Havok -another one i wanted even before I wanted the entire wave. Just a really great figure so much better than the TB figure. ^***significant drop in "like" value **** 5. Wolverine - Surprised b/c I expected to not be liking what i considered a "filler" figure at all. He's definitely the definitive Wolvie. 6. Cable - I would say he's just as good as the previous best Cable. Nothing more than that. 7. Phoenix - Decent figure. To be honest, TB did not do a lot of female figures right, especially in the face. But God help them Phoniex was the one they did right on. This Phoenix, while being great and less fragile, is *very slightly* not as good as the TB figure. But I stress ***very slightly**. Her best feature over TB is she's definitely more sturdy. 8. Iceman - He's got iceshards. Unlike the other figures in the wave, he STILL looks flimsy and not very sturdy. He's not a bad figure by any means I just prefer the TB figure over him. TB figure is a a good bet better than him, unless you are partial to the ice-shard features. |

The great thing about this X-Men wave is that everybody's going to have drastically different opinions. It's not like the Cap wave where Black Panther was definitively the best figure in the wave for most people.
It's gonna be hard choosing a favorite for this wave because it's overall very well done. |

I can immediately think of at least 3 or 4 shows way better than the XMEN animated series, so...No. But to each his own. It was pretty good up until they handled the Dark Phoenix saga, which afterwards, the show badly spiraled downhill in both storytelling and production. It's held up somewhat, but one really has to put down the rose tinted glasses when judging it against it's peers.

Speaking of X-Men what do you guys think of this.
Between the Panels: Marvel Needs to Make the X-Men a Priority - IGN I rather they kill off the Inhumans :P They Should try to bring them back to the popularity that they (X-men) were back in the 90s. they were everywhere, toys, t shirts, comics, cartoons, etc The current X titles out now are i believe at least 3 or so available currently... However they are really lacking in the writers department with them nowadays. Bendis really ruins everything he touches just about and the X-men just aren't appealing to everyone as they did back then. A good push with better talented writers and taking their movie rights back from Fox would definitely spark the fans interest again. X-men, Spider-man Incredible hulk, Batman and super man the aniamted series of the 90s were superb animated series and are still watchable to this day. while they were children's cartoons they were also targeted towards the fans as well. they weren't dumbed down like today's superhero cartoons, has anyone ever tried watching Ultimate spider-man, avengers and or GOTG. while the art is great in these cartoons the plots rarely have nothing to do with the comics. Me personally i just can't really enjoy them. |

I think my wallet is in need of cpr. I got my X-Men Legends in the mail yesterday and today I picked up the Space Knight Venom wave and the 12" ML Spiderman. Hopefully the Abomination wave and Punisher won't get here for another month or so.
