Oh wow yes that is cool. I have several of the monocolored things like that. Dammit the black fire set, that set and then what ever Von had, I need them all!

@rafael and Nash, it's actually a bootleg Tamashii effect from China. You can buy unofficial black, yellow, purple/pink and clear flames on Ebay for a reasonable price.

Yeah, I never liked the Elektra body they used for the SDCC exclusive, it seemed to thin. Plus since Ms. Marvel's costume has the same lines I won't have to freehand it

I just saw them...very nice! I even think the colors they offer are better than the original Tamashii ones, lol.

As for my favorite figure out of the wave...It's really hard to pick just one. My thoughts are biased towards Rogue as I am a huge fan of the character, but I might actually have to go with Kitty because of her versatility with the ability to swap parts and what not with other X-characters. The dark horse though, is Cable. I REALLY like all of the new sculpting that was done for the figure, has good accessories, and the new costume is pretty neat. He also has a good size that I think translates well over all the other versions we have of him thus far. The only thing he's missing is a paint wash. Then again, what Marvel Legend isn't? My least favorite would have to be Phoenix...and simply because of the fact that she really could have used some more love, since she lacks psychic and/or fire effects. The face isn't bad, as it presents a sort of mature beauty, but the hair sculpt is a bit too big and is shaped weird, giving it the appearance of a mullet, which hurts. She's still a good figure though. Deadpool is also next to last for me, simply because mine had so many QC issues. One other issue I didn't mention is that he feels full of clutter, as while I appreciate the extra details and harnesses and what not, there's so many moving parts on him that slide off and around the torso that it makes playing with him difficult at times. |

Good point. Ugh, I hate that they couldn't have waited and put Psylocke and Emma on the newer bodies. Seems like a long shot that they'll redo them anytime soon.

Emma probably won't get redone for a while if ever, but I can definitely see Psylocke being redone in either 2017 or 2018.

AMAZING!! Great posing, man!! The led-lighting in conjunction with the flame effects (sparingly used I might add - I've also found less to be more) and DBZ power burst (really need to use those myself)...love the use of cotton to hide the flight stand with Brother Voodoo. Excellent work and can't wait to see the whole set-up...

@Trivial
Like the pose, as always!...but I think these affects work better with Havok than Blizzard. Gill emits lots of shards and ice projectiles. I have seen his powers manifested as snowy mist-like effects, and this works to a degree, but I think the Magneto presentation feels a lot more 'natural' (especially, if purple colored) than does Blizzard. Hydro man, if made on the six inch scale, would be a good fit. I like the pic nonetheless though! Cool shit! |

Does anybody remember that X-Men Mutant Academy game for Playstation? Such a throwback! It just came to mind as I was messing around with my X-Men Legends.
To tie it back into this thread, I remember Mystique and Toad the most out of any other characters from that game and it got me thinking....we could really use some updated figures for them. Really, most of the Brotherhood mutants seem to have mediocre figures that could use updates. |
