1. Since the new Colossus isn't the 'traditional ole' school' Colossus.. and since they probably won't make THAT version anytime soon
What is the best Legends Colossus figure for my X-men group? 2. Same question for Beast. AND..what is that Beast I see that has like Dark Gear and maybe goggles on (i forget). I think i want both. 3. I bought Beetle(??) today..from the Ultimate Green Goblin wave. HOW COME his (and i've seen this on other figures back when i wasn't collecting Legends) name isn't on the package ANYWHERE. ??? It says like "deadliest foes" or something like that. What was(is) the purpose of releasing a figure without his/her name on the package? 2. I only own the old Toybiz legends Beast in his blue trunks and X belt. Most of the legends figures I buy I try to get them in their silver age, bronze age, and 90's costumes. Another figure that Hasbro IMO will not be able to top. 3. I don't know why they do it to be honest. They never did it with Toybiz and the early years of Hasbro's legends. I didn't start seeing it until they started making legends again in 2012/2013. One thing I also don't understand is why for some figures they list it as "Marvel's" and the character name. DC or other comic companies don't have that many characters that share the same name with Marvel so what's up with that? |

1. They're essentially the same figure but the X-Men classics has a different head and his color scheme is more lighter. They still hold up well for being over ten years old. IMO the Select is to big for Legends.

The more generic the name, the harder it is to label it as such. Years ago they could get away with it; G1 Transformers had Jazz, but nowadays that's not a copyrightable name for your product, hence Specialist Jazz, or Autobot Jazz, that combination of words is what they can use. Secondly, because sometimes figures share BAF parts or can be swapped in a case, they make 2 character packaging to use with either figure, if you notice Beetle shares boxing with Boomerang. They tell parents/grandparents/kids the important part, that they are spider-man villains. Collectors already know who they're getting or are getting them all anyway to create the BAF, and it also eliminates waste on packaging as when you look at a case, the big names get their own box at two to a case, the lesser characters get shared boxing for the same number of different printed boxes per case (1 each, so two to a case). That way every case uses the same number of boxes; they don't have to have half production runs at a higher cost to create a series of boxes for a bunch of lesser characters who are one per case. So it's also a cost saving measure. Last edited by Pravus Prime; 07-27-2016 at 08:39 PM.. |

Target Frustrations:
So this site called Brickseek says several of my Targets have the X-Men wave. I go to the one about 5 minutes away and their scanners say they don't have the wave even in the stockroom. Target #2, which is about 15 minutes away says they have them in the stockroom, but can't find them, and they have already done their reset. Target #3, which is 45 minutes away, in the crappy neighborhood, has done their reset, but says they won't be selling them until Sunday and that I was the tenth guy in today looking for them. WTF???!!!! Comic Talk: So I finished reading The Fall of the Mutants today. X-Men arc - This arc was very slow moving but the end result was quite good despite it getting way too convoluted. I liked seeing the X-Men finally be shown the heroes they really are and I did find the stuff dealing with the Trickster interesting. On the other hand, I don't understand how Storm lost her powers nor do I buy that her powers just genetically stopped working because she didn't want them anymore, but the overall plot dealing with her journey was an enjoyabe one. I kind of wish I could get the aftermath issues now to see what they do since the world thinks they are dead. I do wish there was a little more with Sinister in this though. The Hulk side story was nothing but filler, but it was entertaining filler. New Mutants arc - BORING!! The story got a little bit better as it went along, but as a whole, it was bland. The whole Dr Moreau plot didn't make any sense at all and it didn't leave me wanting to read anything beyond it. I am curious about the stuff dealing with Magick though as she was the best character in those issues. I will admit I did get a laugh out of the McDonald's stuff in there. On the other hand, Magneto felt very out of character to me. X-Factor arc - I have mixed feelings on this. The stuff dealing with The Right was mediocre, but it probably would have been improved if I had read this series from the start. Scott is very incosistent as one minute he is pinning over Jean and then the next he is all depressed because he thinks Madelyn is dead. Alternatively, the stuff with Apocalypse was well done and now it pains me that he didn't even have his damn ship in the recent movie. I completely forgot about that. I loved finally reading the first appearance of Archangel as he was always one of my favorite X-Men when growing up. The rest of the Four Horsemen were average and the side stories did nothing to help. In fact, I felt the side stories were kind of boring. The Power Pack one was down right terrible while the Captain America one was mediocre. It wasn't terrible, but I didn't feel like it accoplished anything nor did it really have to be a crossover when Famine just teleported away and nothing was every accomplished. The DareDevil story was the best of them as I liked how it was just showing some of the impact of the battle was having on the citizens of NYC. Although, they seemed awfully quick to assume the world was coming to an end when this stuff happens on a regular basis. The Fantastic Four issue that takes place during the aftermath was pretty awful too. Obviously I have no idea what is going on, which didn't help. Why is there a female Thing? When did Sue get black circles in her hair? Why was Doctor Doom kicked out of his country by a Doom impersonator? You know what, I don't really care because this doesn't even feel like the FF to me. Where is Reed in all of this? Oh, I forgot about the side story with Hulk earlier in the arc. That was good although I'm trying to figure out how he got across country in the span of one issue. Wolverine met him in Dallas and then he is suddenly on the other side of the country for the X-Factor in the span of what seemed like a few hours. Overall, despite the negatives, I enjoyed reading this story arc because when it was good, it was really damn good. There are things that would have had better context to me if I knew everything going on beforehand, but that is okay. That is the nature of reading older comics, it is nearly impossible to read everything in order. Time to journey backwards in Uncanny Omnibus Volume 1!!

Try Walgreens. They all started getting their x waves this week. You might strike out on catching a full case their due to their distribution hubs breaking cases of figures up, but if you are willing to ask them to go check for you you should be able to get a full wave with a couple trips to different Walgreens locations. Provided they haven't already been picked by another collecter that is... Last edited by name; 07-27-2016 at 10:28 PM.. |

![]() The Beast in the dark gear is the variant to the Beast that you were mentioning in your post, and it came from the X-Men Classics line back in the Toybiz days. The Beast in the center (Astonishing Beast) was Hasbro's first attempt at a comic styled Hank, and quite frankly, is an embarrassment to carry the Marvel Legends name. Not only is it laughably small, it lacks a lot of paint deco and has some of the worst articulation of any Marvel Legends figure to date. Then of course, there's the X-3 Beast, which the mention of would make some people throw up in their mouth a little bit, but honestly, if you can get past the fact that he comes from a crappy X-Men movie, is really not a bad figure at all, as he fits decent enough into the MCU figures, bears a good likeness to Kelsey Grammar and actually has some pretty good articulation once you remove the jacket he's wearing. That said, if you really need a Beast, I think the Classics version is the way to go. The other Classic's version is pretty good, however I don't have that one any longer as I traded him for Cat Beast. I should mention though that I'm a little biased, as I've always been a HUGE fan of Beast's cat mutation, as I loved the unique look it gave him (as opposed to the way Jim Lee used to draw him, which was essentially a blue, more furry version of Logan,) and I enjoyed the feral, animalistic twist that the mutation added to his personality. I think he also scales in rather nicely to some of Hasbro's offerings as well... ![]() Plus he's sturdy enough to perform the "fastball special" both single... ![]() ...and double handed!!! ![]() (No flight stands or wires were used to keep Logan in that pose!) The first two Iron Man movies had their own toylines that weren't under the ML banner. The first movie line had Marks 1,2,3 and two different Iron Mongers. The second movie line had Marks 4,5,6 and War Machine. Whiplash never made it to the 6" line. Walmart also had some exclusive figures for Thor and Captain America The First Avenger. There was a movie Thor with his helmet on and the WWII Cap. Thor was re-released in the Walmart Avengers wave but with a helmetless head. The WWII Cap was re-released in the Mandroid wave which you already have listed. Also, the Iron Man in the Avengers wave is a battle damaged Mark VI. |

Some of the figures on there are not actually MCU, and there were a few other exclusives. I think this is every (6") MCU figure they've done:

Mostly because you're not thinking big enough. Copyright and toys don't just compete between Marvel and DC, but every toy in every market that Hasbro is releasing the figures in, they have to have a label on the box that identifies the product uniquely. Marvels Deadliest Foes is something that isn't going to have competition against any other product on the market. Beetle and Boomerang are.
The more generic the name, the harder it is to label it as such. Years ago they could get away with it; G1 Transformers had Jazz, but nowadays that's not a copyrightable name for your product, hence Specialist Jazz, or Autobot Jazz, that combination of words is what they can use. That way every case uses the same number of boxes; they don't have to have half production runs at a higher cost to create a series of boxes for a bunch of lesser characters who are one per case. So it's also a cost saving measure. It is cheaper for them to have 2 figures utilise the EXACT same card/outer packaging, instead of making 2 separate unique ones. The costs for the graphics, card quality etc have increased beyond my understanding in the past few years, so they will cut those costs by recycling and putting 2 on the same card. That is the reason why the Star Wars Black series up until the Force Awakens figures featured very boring looking packaging, because it saves money for them. |

I asked a young employee did they have the Hasbro X-Men marvel legends and he said if they did it would be where the Marvel legends figures were. I told him none were there. I told him I have a DCPI number and if he could look it up. He directed me to older lady to look it up and she seemed less than enthused to do it. She looked it up and said it's not listed even though on the brickseek site it said a case was available. I already have the wave except Deadpool but I have the wave pre-ordered from Amazon and they'll be shipped next week but was hoping to score in person a little early. Anyways as I was leaving the young employee told me to try Toys R Us LOL. Went to two local Walgreens and all I saw were Daredevil, Ant-man,and the whole Red Onslaught wave. This experience reminds me on why I purchase 95% of my figures online. I might pay more but it saves me gas and frustration on having to go from store to store searching for figures. |

Man, Zoe Saldana is TOO fine... she's probably like "No ankle rockers? Pffft." =)
I'm sure someone has done this already, but yeah, I think I'm going to rock BAF Juggs with the Select head full time. Wasn't feeling the Legends head since his reveal way back, but the MS head nails the look for me. |

In recent years, Marvel's Ulimited Plus subscription service has come with an exclusive Marvel Legends figure. 2013's Gold Ultron, 2014's Rocket Raccoon(Blue&White), 2015's Rescue. Looks like 2016's exclusive will be a Captain Marvel. From SDCC:
"Marvel Unlimited Plus comes with a Captain Marvel figure, a Wakanda patch, a pin and three variant comics. It's an Unlimited subscription with added bonus collectibles and opportunities for exclusive events!" SDCC 2016: Digital House of Ideas Liveblog | News | Marvel.com |

Unforunately now you cant find that wave any longer at least not here in south Florida. Now everywhere is just over saturated with red onslaught wave and the absorbing man wave.... However im heading to the Orlando area tommorrow for a little weekend getaway. Im hoping to find Namor in a walgreens around there and maybe in thr Disney parks i might find some legends. |

Made a decent run last night, two parts of the area, one TRU, three targets and three walmarts. Nothing but expectations - meaning nothing. Sad little Boomerang with the torn box still sits at Walmart #3 at full price point. I have picked up that things up so many times and almost bought it...but meh. If it goes what kind of jokes can I make about pegwarmers?
I also saw way too many Sentryes, Hawkeyes and Hellcats. So annoyed with those waves now. I wish they would just go away from retail. . |

I've been meaning to ask, but why does Juggernaut come with a belt? Is that from a more recent addition to the comics? I don't remember him having a belt.
