Speaking of arrivals, my Spider-Wave finally arrived today. Super happy, as it has one of my most anticipated figures of the year (Silk, who I am a big fan of...) and and two others I've been waiting a while for to be properly done (teen Miles and Pete.) I can't wait to start striking these guys in some poses.

So i finally got up to the orlando/Kissimmee area. We all went out to dinner at Disney springs, as we walked around around i spotted a "super hero store" as i walked in i saw quite a few legends. As i got closer, i noticed they were all Wasp from the ultron wave.... needless to say i walked out empty handed.

Quick question for those of you that have the Target exclusive War Machine two pack, do you like the War Machine figure? Most of the Youtube reviews I have see say that he's not that great but that's mostly because of the accessories. Ignoring the accessories, do yo like the figure? I don't want to spend $40 on an ok War Machine and an Iron Man I don't want.

I'm leaning toward:
Monica- Marvel Unlimited Plus
Dark Phoenix- Walgreen's
MJ- SDCC
A Walgreens exclusive does make sense for Phoenix but I honestly think she'll be in a future X-Men wave. With the MCU slate being relatively Avenger free until Infinity War, I think Hasbro will start putting out waves for other properties like X-Men and Fantastic Four. And with the success of the Juggernaut wave and the fact that they've ignored X-Men for so long, they may want to double down on X in 2017.

I doubt MJ will be an SDCC exclusive. Hasbro put out a Mary Jane figure in the 3.75" line a few years ago and it didn't peg warm (even though it looked terrible). I don't see any reason why they wouldn't try for mass retail with a 6" version her. I could see her being released in a 2 pack with Spiderman (SDCC version with an unmasked Peter Parker alternate head). Or throw in J. Jonah Jameson to make it a 3 pack. But my money is on retail.

I see three possibilities for Monica: 1. Walgreen's exclusive, 2. part of a Thor wave or 3. part of a Black Panther wave. If Hasbro was to give either character their own wave to tie into their movie, then I could see a could a couple of Avengers characters getting tossed in. But if not those two, then she would be a Walgreens' exclusive since she doesn't really fit in anywhere else.

As for Sue Storm, Toy Biz and Hasbro have consistently released her in box sets and Fantastic Four themed waves. If there was a member of the FF that could be released in a non-FF wave and didn't require extensive tooling, it'd be the Human Torch. Sue never gets released without her teammates.

So, quick story about how awesome my wife is, and how I'm kind of an inadvertent bonehead

So, earlier tonight, we're walking through a nearby Target, just looking around, when we hit the toy aisles, and I see them: the X-Men wave. Most of it, anyway - no Logan, Wade, or Jean. Now, we've had to put off ordering the wave due to financial stuff, so excitedly, I started trying to prioritize which ones I wanted the most, to stow them away for when we go shopping in a couple days.

Cue my wife telling me that she had planned on surprising me with the fact that she preordered the whole wave, and added Black Panther to the order as well.

Leaving me excited, happy, and feeling kinds of bad that I accidentally spoiled her surprise

So this is from the letters section of a Dec 1975 X-Men comic. I guess people have always been complaining about the state of comics well before the internet existed. :-D

I agree that Hasbro releasing her in an X-wave is definitely a possibility. I've just got a nagging in my head that says Walgreens's exclusive. It just mirrors the Walgreen's Daredevil release perfectly. She's basically a re-paint of a figure already released in the main line, but with a different/new head.

Gray-scale digital sculpts shown during the panel pretty much always turn into the next year's SDCC exclusive. (Moonstone, Star-lord, Dormmamu, Magik, Abomination, etc. were all shown as digital sculpts, the year prior to their exclusive sets. Lately though, Hasbro has been good about re-releasing these exclusives as repaints. It would be crazy-easy to re-paint MJ, too. Ex.Just change the black shirt to white, and the khaki pants to denim. So you never know, hopefully the trend continues.

Unfortunately, Monica has been hit with the SDCC gray-scale digital sculpt curse as-well. Fortunately, for her I agree with you and can see her easily being re-released in some wave/exclusive/set. Her digital sculpt also shows that she can be potentially re-painted from the Mighty Avengers costume shown into her Nextwave costume. This would also make a connection to the Dirk Anger head that was previously released. *Crosses fingers for more Nextwave figures*

Agreement. There's no way that she'll be one-and-done. Sue was a good-faith gesture to show that Hasbro's opening the door for the F4.

How are all you guys finding DEADPOOL !!! (pulling hair)
Matter of fact ... how are you guys finding XMEN and Space Venom wave in the wild!
My area JUST GOT Giant Man wave and that itself is scarce. I got BP and Duke but no Fury and saw 1 IM but he was jacked up in the box.
I get the feeling DP is going to be cherry picked

Anybody have any Marvel Legends holy grails? Figures that you desperately want in your collection but were just never able to get them?

For me it's Hasbro's Archangel and, to a lesser extent, Galactus Series Nightcrawler.

No pics just yet, but I finally pulled my Space Venom wave out of the box...and my goodness...am I impressed. This is my favorite wave of figures to hit this year, second only to the recent X-Men wave, and the quality shows. There is only one weak spot in Ashley Barton, and I think that lies really only in the character selection, not in the figure itself...here's some quick thoughts.
  1. Ashley Barton: Let's get the one blemish in the wave out of the way, it's Ashley and we all knew it would be. The figure itself is not bad, mine had nice crisp paint apps, the articulation is what you expect, and like Silk, she appears to be on a new body mold. The head is pretty well done, it's a shame the mask is sculpted on, otherwise, if you were to shrink it down, it'd be perfect for Mayday. I wish she came with an accessory of some sort (like her katana...erm...I mean shotgun...) but honestly, the only thing that really hurts this figure is the character selection itself. I know Hasbro was trying to add another female figure to the wave, but right away I can think of about at least five different females from Spidey's universe that could and should have been picked over Ashley.

  2. Hobgoblin: There is so much good going on here, that honestly the only things I can complain about is the obvious, the glider is way too small and honestly sucks. It's made of a soft plastic, and mine was immediately stressed at one of the foot loops on the very first attempt to seat Hobby in it because his feet are a little too big to fit in them without stretching them a bit. I have to the Toybiz Hobgoblin, so I might be swapping gliders with him very soon. So much of this figure is newly sculpted it's ridiculous, and I really dig the classic face (the Macendale "demon" head looks a bit ridiculous to me and I'm not a fan of the sculpt.) I like this one almost equally as I do my ToyBiz one...

  3. Electro: Another high point of the wave for me...and this is coming from someone who LOVES the Toybiz version and didn't think we really needed him. I love the attention to detail on the new look with the lightning bolt coming off as a scar, and the Pizza Spidey body works perfect for Mr. Dillon. The gold colors really pop, and the electric hands are really well done. I know there are complaints about the lack of a spare set of non-lightning hands, but there's a saving grace, most if not all of Allfather Wave's Iron Fist hands work perfectly with him, so you can swap some of them (because he cannot wear all of them at once) with Electro for a gloveless look. Or you can add a little touch of black paint to them and you're set.

  4. Ultimate Spider-Men: Going to lump these two together since they are practically the same exact figure, with different paint jobs. I LOVE these guys. The new teen body mold is sweet, and articulate great. The hands and heads are a little hard to swap out on both, so I might be putting my dremel to work on them soon, but other than that, I love the way they came out, especially Miles. I'll be swiping the accessories from my ASM Miles to give to the new one really soon. It's great to finally have a near perfect representation of Mark Bagley's artwork (long a favorite artist of mine) represented in figure form.

  5. Silk: Oh man, where to start. Sorry Rogue...watch out Kitty...there's a new girl on the block ready to knock you out of your spot for most beautiful Marvel Legends figure. The head sculpt on this is gorgeous, and while it's still a bit vanilla (as in not entirely Korean looking) it's well done in a way that it looks uniquely Asian enough on her WITHOUT coming off as a caricature. The head is so well sculpted, I can see it easily being used for everything from Psylocke, to Black Widow, to Elektra for customs. The linework on mine was flawless, and the red has an awesome transition to the black. She also looks like she is on a new body mold, and although it appears she's a bit too tall to be an accurate version of Cindy, it looks fantastic and I cannot wait to get my hands on another one for customs. While I'm not a fan of the retconned backstory, I'm a fan of the character and I've rather enjoyed the books. While I'm sad we won't get her original web outfit, the fact that this figure is so darn good really lessens that sting to almost nothing.

  6. Space Venom: Another character that I am NOT a fan of, but hot damn is it actually a really good BAF. The articulation on this guy flat out EMBARRASSES some of the other bafs of the past, as he can do nearly full splits, can bend his arms more than 90 degrees at the elbows, and has an awesome waist crunch. I wish we would have got a toothy head for it, but I'm sure some sculpter will do a custom head cast in the future, and since the figure is just black and white, it honestly shouldn't be too hard to paint that. The sculpted details on this guy are great, and while he might not look it, he's every bit as good as the recent Giant Man and Juggernaut BAFs.

One minor thought that sort of ties into Space Venom but not really, seeing this costume REALLY reminds me of and makes me want an Angelo Fortunato version of Venom...I don't know what it was about that costume, but I really dug the way it looked.

    Marvel...MAKE VENOM GOOD AGAIN!

Right now...it's the SDCC Psylocke, simply because I really don't feel like putting forth the effort of doing a custom of her since painting Asian features and skin tones without making them look like hookers can be a bitch. The prices on that figure are ****ing ridiculous. Everyone always says to just get the Target 3 pack Warbird, put a Silk head on it and call it a day, but I honestly think that body is all wrong for Psylocke, from skin tone to build, plus it's not a cheap template to get just to experiment on. And there's no way in hell am I gonna toy around with my two pack Elektra to attempt it either.

I wish I could find a painted, headless body of it on China-bay that wasn't 300 dollars, cause I'd stick a Silk head on that, touch up the hair a bit...and call it a day...lol.

As for other figures, I pretty much have almost every Legends figure that I've ever wanted....so to keep this from becoming yet another "wishlist" post, the list pretty much ends there. *** damn scalpers...

Atm for me it would be the Red Hulk wave Wolverine yellow tiger stripe version. Prices on him are absurd so here's hoping Hasbro will release a new tiger stripe Wolves in the near future.

Some pics of the new wave...and just a warning...I went kinda crazy with some customizing ideas involving Silk's masked and unmasked head...

We'll start with Ashley...since I doubt she's going to get any love, so what the hell, I'll give her some.

Electro wearing a pair of the clawing hands from the Allfather Iron Fist. I think he'll be keeping these, as they fit his body perfectly and match his new look well. No sense keeping them in the bag with Iron Fist unused.

Partners in crime. Sorry Spidey. No good can ever come from two of your exes teaming up...

Now for some crazy customization ideas using this new Silk head for all you customizers out there...

Too bad Elektra's skin tone is so off...I might have actually used the masked face for her once I'm able to grab my second Silk for fodder.

Add some brown paint to the hair and...Melinda May anyone? Maybe Monica Chang?

PLACEHOLDER!!!

And finally...one for the road, because I've been dying to use this guy for a proper shot, and now that I have the right cast in the right scale, I can. I really hope we can get a nice BAF of him some day so I can retire this old Select for good. For those of you who have it, the ASM Miles Morales web shield fits the new Miles' wrist PERFECTLY.

For me it's Hasbro's Archangel and, to a lesser extent, Galactus Series Nightcrawler.
Satana. Its always been Satana.
