That's not a Namor issue....most of the Walgreens Exclusives end up pegwarming hard a couple of months down the road, regardless of the character. Namor, Punisher, Daredevil, Ant-Man and Invisible Woman are all pegwarming at my store.

They had to find their quota of semi-related white characters to put in a wave for a movie for a black superhero with a mostly black cast somehow.

Sorry if I'm a lot disappointed by that wave but I think Hasbro really dropped the ball, in more ways than one. Marvel is doing great things with the movie from what I can tell but this wave is very disappointing, so far, it's like they don't get why this movie is so important.

realizing that every single I'm going to buy except Songbird is a redo and (potentially) Shuri, doesn't help. Yeah some need redos more than others and some do not at all, but it's still just two characters added to my lineups.

That'd be a good way to get you thrown out of the panel. There's a nice middle ground between kissing ass and being the guy in the room who never shuts up and making demands though.

So now that I have time to think and process everything, watching that Hasbro panel kind of sucked. I'm not sure if it was the dude who doesn't understand how to properly record something (your phone's screen flips for a reason) or if it was because it was hard to hear the panelist, but it was a let down.

All I wanted to hear was "We are doing a Giant Sized X-Men Box Set," OR "First Appearance Storm," and I would have been jumping up and down in extreme excitement. Nope, Hasbro couldn't be bothered to do that.

Anyway, my thoughts on the reveals:

Defenders 4 Pack - Cool for those that have been wanting this. The DareDevil does look nice, but I'm not buying an $80 set for a figure I already own.

Hydra 2 Pack - Also cool, just not sure I really need Hydra Soldiers.

Black Panther Wave - Why the hell are Black Bolt and Namor part of a Black Panther line? Shouldn't this wave be full of Black Panther characters? How about a new version of Klaw?

Deadpool Wave - As I previously said, Cable and Domino are must buys. Deadpool, maybe. However, just like my complaint above, what does Deathlok have to do with Deadpool? Did they ever even cross paths? X23 makes sense, but unless the BAF is a must own, I will only be getting the initial 3.

Spider-Man Wave - Lizard is a must own, so I'm all in this entire wave, which sucks because Lasher and Gwenpool suck and I couldn't care less if I had Spider-Punk. Mysterio though is like OH MY GOD HE IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!! Hasbro already went beyond my expectations for him. Of course, now the question remains, who did Lasher replace from that original rumored list? Noir, Spider-Girl, Prowler, or Demogoblin? Hopefully it's Spider-Girl.

Mr Fantastic - Awesome. So glad they are including regular arms with him so that when the bendy wires break I don't have to worry about floppy arms.

Medusa - Meh. I could barely see the picture of her, but I'd only get her if I were to get Blackbolt.

Toy Biz Packages - I'll pass on that Black Widow. For one thing, I prefer her costume from the motorcycle pack. Secondly, I'm getting the motorcycle pack. Spider-Man is a pass since it isn't a Ditko or Romita one, and I don't really have a need for that Punisher. On the other hand, I want the unmasked Wolverine head, so I guess I'll be getting him. I will get Cap because I want the new deco and it will be nice to finally get a comic version if Iron Man (and he does look really nice).

Motorcycle Packs - LOVE THEM!!! BW is gorgeous and I love how accurate Ghost Rider is to his comic colors. Not to mention the bike is bad ass and I believe Hasbro said the flames are removable.

Apocalypse - OH MY GOD HELL FUCKING YES!!!!!!!! I can't wait, but couldn't they have shown me at least one figure from the wave? Also, the wait time to get Apocalypse is going to be apocalyptic. He's another 14 months away. UGH!

Oh, but what was up with the lack of the Avengers announcements?

I'm pretty sure one of the new figures teased at the end is an updated comic Klaw.

But yeah this wave is a disappointment.

So much for the panel blowing everyone away, what a disappointment.

Medusa is nice, glad I didn't spend $100 on the SDCC version
X-23 should be good but the figure isn't that nice. I don't like the proportions and the ridiculous boob sock torso. The headsculpt is great though
The Defenders set is ok.
I know people like classic costumes but Mysterio just looks stupid to me.
Hydra army builder is nice
Classic Widow is great
The BP wave is a joke. Black Bolt is a nice figure but should not be included. Namor is silly. A comic Shuri is nice but what a fundamental lack of respect (to put it mildly) Hasbro are showing to the film to not even include relevant comic characters in the wave aside from Shuri. If that computer screencap of the BP wave is accurate it has 6 figures, five of which have been revealed, then we have a possible two MCU figures for BP. That's pathetic.

Apocalypse looks good, as someone who never had the chance to get the ToyBiz version and has no intention of spending $200 to get him now it will be nice to have a big Apocalypse figure.

Re-watching the SDCC panel, and I just caught that the vintage card-back figures will be out THIS FALL!!! BLACK WIDOW WILL BE BOUGHT ON SIGHT!!!

EDIT: Modern Black Widow w/ bike will come with alternate head!! *Fingers crossed that it's the recent Samnee design*

EDIT: "Lots, and lots of Legends reveals..." @ HASCON, September 8-10, 2017

EDIT: Amazon exclusive Defenders Boxset will be on sale sometime before the end of the year.

Oh hell no!! Those are fighting words. Mysterio looks exactly like he does in the comics. This is hands down the second best reveal of the entire convention.

Thank you! Hasbro did a magnificent job in 2017 with their waves and choices for figures. I wasn't looking for every figure to be MCU(that would be naïve), but Black Panther is my favorite hero, and be it comic or MCU I would have purchased figures connected to him. This wave is just no good. The only positive is if we are getting at least one MCU figure my wallet is happier.

my opinion on the reveals::

12" Legends - interested only in hulk but i have to see him fist in person before i buy.

Defenders 4 Pack - Lame as hell, there are like 500 daredevil figs, we dont need another

Hydra 2 Pack - Meh

Black Panther Wave - They should have made BP's female bodyguards! and why the hell did they put namor and the bolt guy in this wave, thats makes no sense? i find it disrespectful. this wave is horrible.

Deadpool Wave - i hate deadpool, moving along.

Spider-Man Wave - punk spidy is superb, Mysterio is my highlight of all the legends, will most likely tweak his gloves and boots to a metallic gold

Fantastic 4 wave - not into mr fantastic, i prefer Plastic man plus he is more powerful. i will buy human torch thou, he looks wicked.

Medusa - super lame, dont even know her

Toy Biz Packages - pizza spidy i have to get, the packging is awesome, too bad i dont keep boxes or packaging

Motorcycle Packs - they are really kool but i wont buy them, they wont fit on my floating shleves. in the future, i will buy the 12" hasbro ghost rider with the motorcycle, that i like.

Apocalypse - looks good but the picture wasnt too clear, needs more inspection. need to know what size is he also

Hasbro definitely dropped the ball with the Black Panther wave. It was evident in the room when they showed Black Bolt and you could hear the crickets chirping over the silence.

I have mixed feelings about what was shown this year at SDCC.
The Positives:
  1. The Marvel Superheroes Vintage figures are looking better to me now, especially the Punisher.
  2. Mysterio and Lizard are must buys for me.
  3. Black Widow and her motorcycle. Hopefully the alternate head will be the Chris Samnee look with the shorter hair.
  4. The Deadpool wave is looking better with X-23.
  5. 12" Wolverine

The Negatives/Figures I'm Indifferent To:
  1. The lack of Black Panther characters in his own wave.
  2. Outside of Mysterio and the Lizard, the Spiderman wave is looking like an easy pass.
  3. Not really interested in the Hydra 2 pack
  4. The Defenders 4 pack. I'm glad it's on Amazon because I will only consider purchasing it at a deep discount. The figures look nice but I like the DD, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones already out.
  5. The hinted at figures like Thanos. I just don't care.
  6. No news on The Thing.
  7. No Incredible Hulk (comic, not MCU).

Final Thoughts
I get that Marvel Legends takes a break in the fall because of Star Wars but this years reveals felt a little light. Part of that may be due to the vintage wave coming out this fall. With the Ultimate Riders, they could release the Thing on his hover bike like the old TBML which would make sense with Medusa coming to Walgreens. Hopefully we'll see more for next year at NYCC.

A new trailer for Thor Ragnarok dropped to day as well.

Fair enough. I might be letting my disappointment with the BP colour my opinions of some of the other figures.

Edit: watching the panel now, the cheer when they said they got rid of the heels on Medusa was great.

I guess people just don't like heels on the figures even if the character has them in the comics.

This part confuses me. What is the point of having Human Torch if you don't have Mr Fantastic?

Lizard is the BAF though, so you can't pass on the wave.

I think most people like action figures that can stand up on their own. Not to mention most of the high heels in the comics are ridiculous and shouldn't be there either.
