So then that is the perfect opportunity for whoever is in one of these dead end ruts of a job, to simply quit and leave. maybe it's not feasible at a certain moment but eventually it can and will be.

retail jobs and their wages are made for teens and kids in their 20s to make some money or for retired folks to just keep occupied. this should be by no means a way of life and a way to support ones self. especially with minimum wage. these types of jobs were never meant for that.

i mean if your happy with what you do then so be it. but if your miserable and blame everything about the job on your shit work performance and your main duty is to CUSTOMER SERVICE, Well you shouldn't be in that line of work.

Sure, ideally, maybe it should be that way, but you clearly have no idea how impossible it is for many lower class people to just "get a better job". Social mobility is essentially dead for many people. Trust me when I say your "just get a better job" is not a new idea, and neither is it a logical one, based on the realities of our economy and society. Just one factor of this impossibility is that many of them can afford neither the time nor money to go to school to get an education, because they're already working two, sometimes three jobs, and barely making enough to support themselves and others they may have to care for, and can't spare money for something as expensive as college.

I'm probably gonna end this discussion here, as if you fundamentally can't understand the realities of life that lower-class people have to face, this discussion probably isn't gonna go anywhere productive.

What economy are we talking about ??? The same one that has been drastically improving the past year? And how many new jobs have been created since?

College is not the only way to get that "impossible" job. You ever heard of trade, how about a certification ? I'm sure you know they pay you while going through an academy for fire fighter, police, or corrections. Oh wait military is a good paying option as well. Stop trying to justify laziness there are way too many options out there other then retail stores.

One who chooses to do so, is doing so willingly. Someone who stays at a low paying job amd gets mistreated and does nothing about it other them accept it. Well that's their own fault.
