I remember the 90s series well.
I'd imagine, given his inclusion in the Deadpool wave, that his outfit is designed after his more recent appearances in X-Force/Uncanny X-Force.

I had the strangest experience today at Target I found the entire Lizard wave and went to electronics to check out with Mysterio and Prowler (my two biggest wants from the wave) but when I got up there the Employee told me “ i’m sorry but he’s street dated” while he is taking it out of my hands basically referring to Mysterio but prowler who is in the same wave he was able to sell to me. I don’t really know why but whatever. My local GameStops have this wave in so it shouldn’t be too hard to find him

Almost sounds like he wanted Mysterio for himself. But good luck getting the rest of the wave. Personally, I really like Mysterio. Prowler is great too!

Yup, I'm calling BS. That's an in-store scalper, I reckon. I've never heard of only some items from a case being street-dated - and there's no reason for this wave (or items from it) to be dated - as they aren't tied to any spoilerific property or mass merch release. You should have called him on it and got his manager over. Try and catch him out again, you might even be able to get him to lose his job.

Scalpers are one thing, but those who manage to swipe newly released store allocated stock BEFORE it even gets to the shelf need to be forced into alternative lines of employment. Or unemployment (preferably). Ooh! Or a giant meat-grinder. Yes, that'd do nicely.

That’s exactly what I got to thinking after I left the store. I guarantee you’re right he was probably a scalper or he just wanted it for his own greedy ass.
I probably should have called another employee or manager over but I was kinda too stunned to even think straight lol

It rang up perfectly fine. In fact that’s who I used to ask if there was anymore in the back to another employee. That’s how I was able to get Prowler. I think that guy was just a dickhead lol

Now let's not be hasty. He could have just been extra cautious about new figures and ....no....hmmm maybe he was new and confused thinking it was something for next year...hmmm...nah. He was saving it for the kid that just asked abo---no. No. He really WAS just being a dickhead.

If it’s on the floor, it’s for sale. I would call back up there and make the GM aware of your experience. The guy probably ended up stealing the thing after you left. Employees like that are prone to theft.

Saw this posted today on a FB group. Blew me away because i've never saw any store take security measures to prevent stolen BAF pieces abd figure swaping.

That's good stuff right here !

Yeah your probably right. I think he wanted to buy it for himself honestly.

Haha I don’t really want to be arrested and on the news for either getting his ass kicked by or kicking the ass of a Target employee over a figure Hahaha. It would make great for news ratings though

That’s probably in a terrible part of their town. Because my Walmart and Walgreens that’s in the shit part of town. Is nearly similar to that. The funniest part was they had the Infinity War Figs they weren’t secured but the Lone Speed demon was lol

That would be half of the Walmarts in my area if they actually bothered to stock figures beyond 2016.

Regardless, their figures always look like anime characters, because that's what they specialize in. Even aside from the smooth texture, there's also the proportions and paint apps. Medicom had the same issue with their Real Action Heroes line back in the day, because they were known for primarily doing anime characters.

Yeah, that guy sounds like a massive dickhead. Were I in your situation, I would like to think I would have been able to get another team member or the supervisor over to confirm that he was wrong and that you could buy it, but I probably would've been as stunned as you were, and only thought about it later and kicked myself for it.

Does nothing if it’s return swapped. Old ladies have no clue about Marvel characters.

True, but there are several occasions where I've seen them in-store with parts just stolen out of the package outright, so I'd imagine this is to combat that problem.

It’s a Walmart, nuff said.

I could return a banana in a marvel legends box and they wouldn’t think twice about giving me the refund.

But that's part of the Bananaman BAF....or his sister the Bananrama variant figure. Totally acceptable and rare find!

So far I've only been collecting X-Men. That Surfer is legit, though. I'll be on the lookout for sure.
