I feel like if Hasbro were to give us a female animal humanoid body mold, we could easily get a bunch of characters out of it. Feral, Wolfsbane, Hepzibah, Thornn. Really they just need different heads for each figure. I feel like 90's Feral and 90's Wolfsbane look very similar. They all have tails, right?

He can also cast them with a clear base in case you'd like to rig them with a light source from underneath. Quote:
So I was thinking about getting Typhoid Mary and then I came across a custom someone did of her more classic costume and now I'm obsessed with getting an 80's version of Mary. My opinion on buying customs is why bother, Hasbro will get around to making a figure. However, the fact is Mary was just released and is a C list character so the chances of her getting a second figure based on her classic look are slim to none. Would this be a fair assessment? |

It sounds like the right guess to me. Most comic characters seem to be one-offs for Hasbro, unless they're really popular, so they can move on to more characters.

My Target finally got in the Kree Sentry wave but all they had left were the jacketless Cap and like four Grey Gargoyles.
![]() Also, more cynically, a major motivating factor for making Typhoid Mary in the first place was likely the reuse potential for a more popular character like Emma Frost down the line. |

I mean, I know I'm bad at times with the modern iterations (never read any issue with Carnage Goblin yet), but I do at least know the characters from 27 years ago.

![]() I'm kind of hoping that Hasbro will release a generic sentinel head that could be swapped out with the head on this build a figure. I think the Kree Sentry would make a great mini Sentinel of sorts. That's pretty much the only reason why I'm building it. My BAF parts to complete it should arrive by the end of the week so I'm excited to see how it turns out. |

Your right! It is very close to the original design, still looks odd to me. I like that the comic version was more humanoid I feel like the oversized hands and feet on the legends version makes it look more like a Hero Masher than a legends. |

Well truth be told I have never read comics... I have always followed the cartoons and animated movies from my childhood, it also doesn't bode well for a character if no one has mentioned him in his 30 years of existence as a missing part of their toy collection. I followed comics closely enough to look into characters if the interested me, but I have literally never heard of Night Thrasher. Seeing him packaged with a skateboard makes him seem like a joke character like Gwenpool, so I thought he was modern.

I'm in that boat of why bother with customs. Most of what I have made or have been in the process of making ends up getting an official release. It saves me some time and effort, so it's not terrible. I started making really obscure customs, mostly 90's characters who have had like 5 appearances. But to circle back on what you were saying, I don't see Hasbro making another Mary figure in her 80's costume unless there's a special box set. Someone said she was most likely made so Hasbro can get other figures out of the mold. I'd agree to that.

Thanks for the info everyone, I can always appreciate learning more about characters that are unknown to me.
Just to be clear I'm by no means trying to bash the characters that don't resonate with me, I was just throwing my opinion that some of the character choices in the Kree Sentry and Kingpin wave are not my cup of tea. I think that the character design for Night Thrasher is cool, but I know nothing of him and I do not plan on adding him to my spidey shelves. Quick glance at his backstory makes him seem like a cross between Batman and Kick-Ass, again I think that is cool, but I still don't have a need for him. I feel like the proportions are off on the Sentry, something about it to me does not look right to me. I do like Triv's idea that a sentinel drone could be made from it. I'm not trying to convince anyone to not get these figures, in fact I hope they are all on someone's wish list, they just are not on mine. |

Wow, Bo Ttef. That makes a great JJJ. I can see Hasbro easily redoing that with a normal arm. I might do it myself.

Took advantage of the sale and was able to order Infinity War Black Panther, Erik Killmonger, Ulysses Klaue, Prince T'Challa, and King T'Chakka from Gamestop.com this past Monday, and they arrived last night. This was my most anticipated wave since the Marvel Studios 10th Anniversary wave, and I must say...it does not disappoint. I've been sitting on 3 Dora Milaje I found a GameStop a couple of weeks ago, so I was set there, but these other 6 figures, M'Baku included are amazing. The standout of this wave is indeed Erik Killmonger, everyone else is a coin toss they're so good. I already made the decision to pass Prince T'Challa to my son (very symbolic) because I have the Civil War version. Also, I thought the Black Panther from wave 1 was good, but what a difference a face sculpt and purple highlights can make. He is on my Infinity War Shelf with the Dora Milaje, and his fellow Avengers as we speak. As soon as I find my darn memory card, I'm posting pictures of my updated display, or as I like to call it "Marvel Studios Goodness".
Speaking of Marvel Studios, I picked up Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, Talos, SPOILER ALERT, and Carol from Walmart on the 1st. Another solid wave of figures. The standard Captain Marvel is right up there with the rest of the females they've released from the MCU since 2017 that will stand the test of time. As much as I LOVE the MCU, I try to always...always display my Legends with their helmets or mask, and Captain Marvel might have one of this best, if not most logical helmet in the entire MCU, that's why it was a no brainer to display her with her helmet. Having both the Captain Marvel wave, and wave 2 of the Black Panther makes me more anxious for Toy Fair next month. I seriously hope they continue the Marvel Studios line. So many missed opportunities, but what they do with these figures now equals so much more potential. |

The following BAF parts are for trade.
I'm looking for the Krer Sentury parts that come with the movie figures as well as Monkeyman's right arm from the Legendary comicbook hero line. Last edited by Jerseysteel; 01-10-2019 at 04:33 PM.. |
