While i'm not a big fan of shopping out stands- that pic is pretty damn amazing! ...but, uh... did you shop Elsa a larger chest? It could just be the lighting, but she looks slightly... enhanced. LoLz!

I'm SO glad these two came in that toys R us pack.... but Loki and Sif were hard hitters too..

and yeah i'm about half way through book two of the Jessica Jones 3 issue story. Def feeling it so far...
it's good when you have fellow board members putting you on to shit you didn't know about..

************************************************** ********

AND..

Just saw Captain Marvel.

1. Good, Solid movie
2. There was nothing in it I disliked.
3. it was easily better than several of the previous MCU movies as i enjoyed this better than either AntMan film and others.
4. ANYONE who is outright...adamantly complaining that the movie sucks...well...i'm not sure what their agenda is.
5. I don't even know who the F Brie Larson is (prior to this) but i thought she played the part just fine.
6. I no longer want a lil' Star force army
7. I need that Binary Walmart Captain marvel.
8. And i'm GLAD this wasn't trying to be a comedy like Ragnarok (which i thought was GREAT and funny as hell but just not what Thor should've been IMO. Decent humor in CM without it being "too much"

THE KREE IS JERKS.
Even when they're not the villain in the books, they are all smug jerks who act superior. Even the "nice" ones. I'm glad that quality carries over.
Selfishly wanted the Skrulls to be refugees because of the Annihilation Wave, though.

The real star of the movie was Goose.

He saw.

He raised.

Does anyone remember where the whole "Flerken" thing came from? I distinctly remember Rocket Raccoon referencing it in an issue of Captain Marvel years ago, when Carol joined the Guardians, was there mention of it prior to that? They sort of ran with it, it was a fun addition to the movie.

Do you mean "flark"? I believe "flark" and "das't" came up as early as DnA's Conquest but they could have existed before then, they were just alien versions of swearing. I'm pretty sure you can hear Rocket say "das't" in one or both of the Guardians movies but he might just be saying "damn" and I'm imposing my will onto things.

No, I read all of that and remember where those are from.
I was referring to "Flerken".
One of these.
Turned the image into a link because mild spoilers, I guess? It's not really a secret, but I dunno if everyone that wants to see it has yet.

And yeah. Rocket does say "d'ast" on Xandar in the first movie, James Gunn said Abnett and Lanning's stuff influenced him pretty heavily.

Gamora is just a little bit taller, yeah. Rocket and Groot scale well enough with Legends, and he's a lot friendlier-looking than the box set Groot.
I've been using the 2014 BAF as my all-purpose Groot, but I admit that I really do like the look of that Select version a hell of a lot.
I only picked up Rocket and Gamora because they seemed to scale well enough with legends, but yeah, Gamora is still a little too tall.

Ohhh, Flerken the creature/species . Okay gotcha. I remember Carol having a cat like back in her Ms Marvel days but I don't think it was until the Captain Marvel series that the Flerken concept was introduced.

Agreed. If I see her name on a title I'm going to buy it.

Kelly Sue DeConnick came up with Chewie being a flerken in the Captain Marvel arc Stay Fly. Rocket tried to kill Chewie her upon meeting her but Carol stopped him. But Carol had the cat as far back as 2006 in her Ms. Marvel series.

I read that you two cleared that up, but just wanted to add that "flark" was a part the comic lexicon at least as far back as Future Imperfect (Hulk). And I seem to remember "das't" showing up elsewhere and earlier...I want to say Omega Men, as early as the 80's?

Looking over the last few pages, I'm really glad to see Captain Marvel getting mostly favorable reviews. Also, thanks for keeping the thread spoiler-free. Going to see it tomorrow, and I can't wait!

Where are these reveal images coming from? Saw a few more on Instagram. Thinking back to Civil War, I vaguely remember the MCU figures in the Giant-man wave being leaked out at some overseas event before they were officially revealed in the US. Wonder if this is the same event??

Bad photo, good figures. A little annoyed the flagship character for the film/toyline doesn't have better articulation though. But that's nothing new. Definitely excited to get the Binary Captain Marvel and a second StarForce version now that I've seen the film.

Damn, first wave since Abomination in 2016 where I have no interest in a single figure.
