@ariellagunas, maybe the time difference is making your tomorrow be Thursday, so you may be correct on that even though it's still Tuesday here, but I think Thursday is the day they start with the press releases? Or am I wrong on that?

Found the 80th Thor at my local Target on my lunch break. Wow! What a great figure. Not sure I see where the $5 up charge is coming from, but it's a nice figure none the less.

Ah, you may be right Nash. I tend to count five hours behind. But somehow I though the press night is the day before the official day. And isn't that Thursday?
If I'm right ( which probably I'm not, I get confused with NY Toy fair), then Wednesday noon (my evening) should show something. It's a long week and then it's over in no time, but at least we talk all about it. Haha. |

Might get some non-press release preview night s shots in tomorrow if Hasbro puts anything new up for opening night.

Oh yes, preview night! Well, we know Preview Night won't get us Firestar , classic Doom or FA Storm. They'd be saving those big guns for the big day if they're coming. They're welcome to show off Moonstar though.

They have to reveal Firestar this year? I mean it’s been long enough. She’s so overdue it’s not even funny. I’m half expecting a Kang the conqueror in Endgame wave 3.

With the benefit of history and perspective and some (not much) softening of my opinions regarding our 43 president, I will assume he was clumsily (as was his style) attempting to convey a message that other nations who experience much more frequent attacks know well: the goal of sponsors of terror is to disrupt daily life promulgating fear and when you stop living life the way you always have, the aggressors actually succeed. I get/got the intention behind the words, but that didn't prevent the moment from breaking me out of a fugue state, allowing me to conceptualize a macro reality of which I was always subconsciously aware, but hadn't really cognitively processed. That reality is that the only use the rich and powerful have for we rank-and-file Americans is for us to be mindless shopping automatons. That's it - That's all - We are good for little else as far as the upper echelons of society are concerned. I began to apply this new lens of understanding to everything I enjoyed enough to spend money on, which, at the time, was a whole lotta' shit (ie gadgets, games, booze, comics, cars, etc). I'm not ashamed to admit that it fucked with my head a bit. However, once I realized the truth of the cynical view of humanity held by the powerful and influential, the epiphany became both powerfully transformative and liberating. How does all of this relate to toys? Well, armed with an altered perception, I started pulling back and taking note of all of the insidious marketing being constantly force fed to me. Movie/toy tie-ins. Shameless marketing. Cookied websites. Arbitrary street dates designed to heighten anticipation. All the programming that encourages the belief that 'buying' IS 'living' and if you can't do so, you're somehow 'lesser than.' The messaging that drives notions that you can't live without 'x' product, or that brand 'y' will change your life. Basically, I learned how to better control my impulses. I learned to control my interests and not the other way around, which has served well in this phase of non-stop waves. Now don't get me wrong, I still buy the fuck out some toys, but this is one of the few guilty pleasures I still indulge...I've pared back most of the other stuff - games, movies, comics, unnecessary tech, new cars (driving an 08' thank you very much), yadda and yadda. ...also, yeah, Silver Samurai gets my vote for best (by far) of the wave. |

Y'all win because your team/coach is superior to the field, especially when it counts at the end of the year. Unless you're playing us! ![]() ...what I was mad about was your loss to the Eagles. WTF, MAN??? Of all the losers to let beat you...of course Bill sitting you best secondary player and letting Alshon Jeffery run all over the place was the real reason y'all lost...but damn SMH. Hahaha! Yeah, they haven't put ol'Eli out to pasture yet. I'll always have love for Eli...and I wanted Barkley, not Darnold, Mayfield, nor Rosen. However, it hurt when we took Jones at 6. If we were going to go QB, it should have been Haskins. But I really wanted Ed Oliver.

Yea Jones was a bit of a leap at 6 ain’t gonna make a excuse for that one haha. Barkley is on another level in his first year he’s already top 3 RB I am full blown jealous of that Hb. I just wish Bill could draft better haha. Dude can’t draft he’s got great find no doubt but it’s 70% time it’s a bust haha And thanks for Reminding me about Nick Foles....I’m gonna go Cry my self asleep now...Yea I think you and I could’ve been plugged in and done better on Defense then what the patriots had that day...Still can’t believe that shit haha. @DTL/Cole Man that’s samurai is so damn badass!! |

Without delving into a political diatribe, or derailing the thread too far away from toys, I'll nutshell things and start with stating that I learned (and re-learned) many lessons following 9/11. In particular, when President Bush admonished Americans to "shop" as a measure to combat the terror visited upon NYC, well, it struck me as an odd moment of clarity for our young (by comparison to other industrialized countries) nation.
Ok, I've been a bit out of the loop with regards to Walmart exclusives hitting stores since I've been focusing on catching up on and filling out my Transformers collection for the last couple of months, and the Walmarts in my area that have an actual toy section worth mentioning are all a) still sporadic at stocking exclusives, and b) far enough out of the way that I rarely ever check them, so I have to ask...
is there still any chance I might find Endgame Power and Glory Cap in store, or has that ship sailed at this point? |

Great figure but I've always felt he was a poor stand-in for Silver Samurai. Harada is at least 6'6" but I imagine if AI's silver samurai were scaled up to life size, he'd probably only stand 5'10. |

Robot Kingdom has the 80th Anniversary Cap in stock for $29 and is currently shipping. With all of the trouble with Walmart exclusives, I'm tempted to get one from RK since the extra money would probably be the cost of gas from hunting. However, I can't shake the feeling that the figure will go up for preorder or appear in stores soon. |
