Let's hope among those BAF re-releases there's a purple pants Kingpin, as I refuse to buy that wave twice to get Ahmal Farouk.

I stopped at the Disney store on mah way back from work and I couldn't resist gettin a Dr Doom and She-hulk, even if my wave arrive next week ( with doubles to make to Skrulls);
And I got to say, this two figures feel hefty, well thought out and wonderfully sculpted. After the dissapointment of the Vulture, these two are worth every penny. In fact I'll have to She hulks and three Dooms. I wish Hasbro put the same love in all their figures. |

I just read the FF issues that introduced Blastaar and I didn't think he was anything like Lobo.
Anyway, I'd like figures of Irving Forbush and Millie the Model. Not really because they need figures, but so I can finally know who the hell Marvel is talking about in their letter pages. BTW, did anyone notice that the regular fists for the new Mr Fantastic and Human Torch have pegs that are smaller than the alternate stretched/flaming hands? I just switched them and now the regular fists are spinning around whenever I move the figures.

Managed to get out for a bit last night and make my hendersonville/madison rounds. First stop I found the two figures I was hoping I'd find, Vulture and Shang-Chi. Cancelled my Amazon preorder. Over all, between the four stops, I saw every figure of the F4 and Spider-Man wave - even Doom! Nice to see they are being so well distributed.
I'm also seeing the rumor/news about the Fan Channel figures maybe being a monthly offering and I think that's awesome. Hoping we get a lot of great stuff that way. Since WG is supposedly switching off the X-Women trend maybe we'll get Storm and Shadowcat from them. It would be great, if we don't get a normal X-wave this year, if we got them, Lady Deathstrike, Pyro, Avalanche, Angel and Banshee. Also count me in on a Count Nefaria and Graviton two pack. They should be relatively easy to do and the fact they bear a strong resemblance to each other in the face hasn't gone unnoticed. Getting those two would take care of two big wants from the non-X-men villains realm. Last edited by Captain Nash; 02-01-2020 at 12:07 PM.. |

As for Kingpin, I'm really hoping for his classic purple pants look, too. I just finished piecing the BAF together, but I never had any intention of using it as Kingpin. The full white suit just looks too perfect for Shadow King. |

Ohhh, I hope Kingpin pans out. I only got two figures from his wave but as a character I still really want Fisk, even if they just take the existing figure and make it the black suit.
Rhino and Apocalypse remain my other two most wanted BAF redos. For Rhino they could just straight reissue the figure with a new classic head that isn't screaming or his extra-armored Sinister Syndicate look. For Apocalypse there are a number of repaints they could do but one based on his cartoon colors might be particularly fun.

Oh yeah. White is Farouk. kingpin is purple stripped pants. Thou I must admit I'm ok with black too. And I'm ok with Apocalypse. They all look similar to me. Now his four horsemen would b cool (the originals, and the X-force ones too). |

@TheBlueMarvel:
You are on!! This opinions are mine alone, and my cats. If Rom and Starshine make you shed a tear, how about Acroyear and Cilicia? That would make me a river of jelly! (And I love cool points. I'm competitive). I need a smaller Perez Beast for both Avengers and Defenders rosters (and don't talk to me about the LOSH, don't start me on DC figures, LOL). I want Angela cause I'm obsessed with the Brubaker Daredevil. I'm about to go on Cap now. So I'll be wanted something from that too, I'm sure. Vapor needs legs and "Vapor" parts. Don't cheap out! Didn't get Crystarr as a kid, but I'm familiar and I love any translucent figure (where's my Martinex?!?) so I'm game. I almost put The Presence and Starlight, but I thought they're too rare for most. Graviton and Nefaria together? They look like twins! How about Hammer and Anvil? At least they are different skin tones. Haha. I'll give you a better one (imo) : D'Spayre with Shaper Of Worlds, and Nightmare with Mephisto. Hellish enough for you? Blood Brothers? Do you remember when they did appear las? Cause I don't! Haha. I prefer Brother Grimm. Ancient One and Stick. They could call it The heroes teachers, or some such. I'm alright for Pats, but put Daimon with a classic Satana or Witch Woman and I'm there. Love the Sons of the Tiger, but they're super 70's looking ima gonna need Power Man to go with Hector and the Sons. Hector's been dead for yonks thou. Forgot what happened to him. Must investigate. Love all the Frightful Four ideas. Medusa needs articulated Kirby hair. Titania and Wizard are musts (as Volcana and Diablo). I need a classic Blastaar, not the Lobo wannabe. And don't you dare mocking Paste Pot Pete. He's the scariest of them all. Agree on the rest, but they must be coming anyway. I'm always want the rare stuff, the big ones don't excited me as much, as they are a given. A couple of thoughts: I'd love an Acroyear and Cilicia as a "lovers" set, but, unfortunately, the licensing for the Mironauts may be even more complex and entangled than Rom. Until you mentioned it, I thought the WT fig we got was for Angela, but now realize it's meant to be his sister, Ava, not his niece. I didn't read the Brubaker run for DD, but I did collect Angela's mini introducing her to Marvel and while I can't remember much about it, I do recall liking it. However, I did read Brubaker's Cap run and those were some of the best comics I've ever read. You'll have a blast. If I ever get around to purchasing the Marvel Unlimited service, I'll check out Bru's DD on your suggestion. The U-Foes, as a Hulk lunatic, have always been up there for me at the very top of my wants and I'd love a Shaper of Worlds and Hammer and Anvil, due to that same fandom. My Hulk list, similar to Surfer, needs to be separate from any general tally because it's that long. It also includes Nightmare and while I think I'd keep D'Spayre and the lord of slumbering horrors together as enemies of Strange, I could see Nightmare with steed in a legendary riders release. I thought about the Brothers Grimm, naturally, when recalling the Blood Brothers, but while their costumes were cool I never really knew much about them other than that they occasionally messed with Iron Man. I gave up my $150+ per week comic habit circa 2008 due to the recession and haven't returned in earnest since, but my last recollection of the Blood Brothers was Drax's mini that lead-up to Annihilation. They were prisoners along with Paibok (the 'Power Skrull' always loved that name) and Lunatik. Since we are on the villainous 'brothers' duo kick, I'll add Fenris to our wish list for two packs, just because... ![]() Graviton can be given long hair to distinguish him from Nefaria. That's how he wore it when he died (edit: I thought he died from the aneurysm, but apparently not..) around the time of Civil War. As for the Sons of the Tiger looking 70's-rific, that's the point! lol Hector was shot and killed in pretty ignominious fashion. He'd been arrested for murder, but I also remember the Tiger talismans taking him over or overwhelming him in some way and playing a role in his bloodthirstiness at the end. @Captain Nash - Congratulations on finding Shang-Chi and the Vulture. All of the figures at my local Target and Wal-Mart stores are the usual pegwarmers - Spider-Woman, Hydro-Man, Cannonball, 70s Dazzler, Sunfire, Sub-Mariner, etc.
Now onto my post. Brace yourselves, folks -- it's long. Sorry. In regards to the recent news: - I sincerely hope we'll be getting more Avengers West Coast figures. If Silver Centurion Iron Man and classic Moon Knight will be released this year, they're automatic wants/needs for my collection. I'd have to see Hawkeye before I get too excited, as I quite like my Retro/Vintage version. With the Falcon and Winter Soldier Disney Plus series coming up, I'd be shocked if we don't get a classic U.S. Agent figure in the future. We already got Spider-Woman in 2019, so I'd love to see classic War Machine, the Model 12 Iron Man armor (best remembered from the '90s animated series) and a new non-metallic Scarlet Witch included. - I hope Kingpin pans out too, preferably in his classic purple pants look. I'd also love re-releases of the Sandman and Rhino Build-A-Figures. It'd be nice to have a Sandman with new normal arms and a classic Rhino with a non-screaming head. I'd even take a Sinister Syndicate era Rhino, as that's a great look for his costume too. - I'd say that new Venom figure is real and likely Brock, since 'Venom 2' will be released this year. Yes, the box looks odd. Yes, the lack of accessories is disappointing. Yes, this just looks like a cash grab. But even so, I'm getting that figure. I can't turn down classic Brock Venom, as he's one of my favorite Spider-Man villains ever. In regards to two-pack wish-lists, I'd love to see: - Kraven the Hunter (classic) and the Chameleon (Steve Ditko era) - Bruce Banner (lab coat with alternate heads) and General Thunderbolt Ross - Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson with alternate Gwen Stacy head, based on the art of John Romita Sr. - Hellfire Club guards (or make them sold-separate figure, I'd be down for either release) - Safari Jacket Wonder Man and classic blue furry Beast (based on the art of George Perez, naturally) - Doctor Octopus (white Armani suit, alternate Mark of Kaine head, and all-new bendable wire tentacles accessories, please) and classic Stunner - Banshee (with alternate heads) and Emma Frost in their Generation X suits - Delilah (classic) and the Rose (with alternate heads) - Spinneret and Spiderling from "The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows" For single figures, I'm hoping New York Toy Fair gives us - classic versions of the Lizard, Electro, Shocker, purple-and-blue suit Boomerang and Jack O'Lantern with his hovercraft, J. Jonah Jameson, John Romita Sr. artwork versions of Spider-Man, the Green Goblin, Mary Jane and classic Doctor Octopus with bendable tentacles (please?), an all-new classic red suit Daredevil, an "Amazing Friends" version of Firestar, Web Armor Spider-Man (from "Web of Spider-Man" #100), Octo-Spidey (from "Spider-Man: Funeral for an Octopus"), classic Kaine, classic Stunner, Morlun, Mr. Negative, and some kind of Aunt May (classic comic or M.C.U.) for their "Marvel Legends: Spider-Man" toyline - Banshee, 70s Storm, classic versions of Blob, Toad, Avalanche and Pyro, 70s Cyclops, 70s/classic White Queen, classic 80s Rogue, X-Factor versions of Beast, Marvel Girl and Angel, and a new, good figure of Iceman for the "X-Men" toyline (and I'm in the vast minority here, but I'd love a Jim Lee/Blue Team Cyclops re-release without the bomber jacket and with a new head sculpt, repainted suit colors and a new red optic blast accessory - maybe as a Fan Channel release?) - classic red-and-black suit Wasp, Ringmaster, Constrictor (he's overdue), Mr. Hyde (also overdue), classic Ultron, Kang the Conqueror, classic Falcon (or any Falcon, honestly), classic Luke Cage, Monica Rambeau/Captain Marvel II, a John Byrne era version of Captain America (repaint the 80th anniversary with brighter suit colors, alternate heads of a smiling Cap and Steve Rogers, and include his round and triangular shields as accessories), Nightmare, U.S. Agent, classic Beta Ray Bill, classic Thunderstrike, "Heroes Return" versions of Iron Man and Scarlet Witch, and Uncanny Avengers era Rogue for "Avengers" I'd also love more sold-separate figures for the Hulk (Mr. Fix-It, brown Pantheon jumpsuit, Red Hulk, etc.), classic and/or Fantastic Four suit She-Hulk, a new classic Doctor Strange, classic Wizard, the Trapster, classic Abomination, the Gargoyle, the U-Foes, classic Iron Fist, and some kind of retro/vintage Spider-Man: The Animated Series toyline. It'd be nice to see figures of Doctor Octopus, Shocker and Venom that look accurate to their animated series counterparts, as well as first-ever figures for characters from the show like normal/human form Alistair Smythe in his hoverchair, Herbert Landon, the Spot and Electro. Heck, they could even do a retro/vintage Secret Wars toyline to give us new figures for characters like Iron Man II with an alternate Jim Rhodes head, Rogue, Falcon, Captain Marvel II, Kang, Ultron, Lizard and Beyonder Doctor Doom, as well as sneak in new figures of characters exclusive to the toyline like Baron Zemo, the Hobgoblin and Daredevil. Thanks for reading my nonsense and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. |

@TheBlueMarvel:
Why, thank you kind sir. All those years of devouring the Official Handbook of the MU have paid off. Yeah I have some Takara MICRONAUTS, including Acroyear, but they look nothing like the comic. I wish Marvel would get the rights back like they've done with Conan. The thing about Brubaker and the art that goes with his series, is that it feels like a movie script. I haven't watch any TV (asides of Vikings and Picard, cause that would be rude) since I started the saga. I feel the characters are very well realised, and I feel like I know Foggy, Milla, Dakota etc. Angela Del Toro and Black Tarantula have big parts on it. Don't start me on the Hulk. He was the biggest hero in my youth, and the amount of villains and characters month after month was only equal with FF and Spider-man. I need th Circus Of Crime, Meriam the mermaid and and that diamond woman that turns the Hulk to crystal. Shut uuuuup! An evil steed for Nightmare.? Hell yeah. We need horses. Black knight, Valkyrie, Dani, Dreadknight, Conan, The Shining Knight...oh wait. I finally finished th Anhiliation and stuff, but I missed the Drax series. Will go back to it. Got a check with the Bros. Aren't Fenris dead? Probably cloned by now. Graviton+mullet=ace (he's dead too? Crap). That stuff bout the OG WT rings a bell. And yeah, yore right, the 70' fashion was garish, but so were the 90's, and colourful figure look great on a shelf. You must go back to subscription. Best decision ever ( I have loads of comics in digital, but they are a pain to find. I'm not organised enough, and I have a life). |

I'd love a Bruce Banner and General Ross, throw in Betty too, and Rick. The Hellfire guards as two pack is a great idea. Get two packs and done. Dr Octopus had a white Armani suit? Great! He probably looked like me on my wedding day. Awesome. I would go for classic Boomerang. Hey I wouldn't say no to an official Jameson ( like most people I kitbashed my own). Aunt May I need her in youthful self (bout 150 year old), but if they want to give us a Marisa Tomei, I won't argue. Ringmaster, Mister Hyde, new Kang, Thunderstrike are also wants. I can see you're a huge Spider-man fan, as I am, but I stop reading it in the late 80's, thou I read some sagas afterwards. I'd love Madame Web, the Fly, the female Poison, Frog-man, Lightmaster and older characters, but then, I am old. Thou I. Trying to catch up. |

I love the way you think! I too devoured the Marvel Handbooks and have a long live of all things Marvel. I must say...the Micronauts were the bomb and I loved the initial 12 issues as a kid. I'd scoop up a Cilicia in a hot minute. Always like her and Acroyer but "Bug" was the man!! Great ideas all the way around! @BlueMarvel Crystar!! Man that takes me back! I passed my figures to my son's when they were old enough not to tear them up! Do you remember Ika? I believe she was someone's daughter...maybe ogeaode? Great times!! |

Thanx! I remember being able two guess the artist just by looking at the individual entries in the OHOTMU. Bug, Marionette, Commander Rann (but not Space Glider), Huntarr, Firefly, Devil, Cilicia, Jasmine, Scion and Solitaire, I believe belong to Marvel, but without any exposure besides Bug, we will never see them in 3D. |

So a question about Rogue - @Stuartgreen2019 your comment kind of got me thinking but then I am broadening my thoughts - scary thing btw ha - when you say classic 80's Rogue which do you mean? There's several looks there. The rest of your post was also through provoking, I'm just suddenly...going Rogue....sorry.
What other versions would people like to see? 80s: First Appearance? The Mid-80's where it's the longer hair and more punk look? The green/black bodysuit she wore during th Outback years? 90s: A reissue of classic Jim lee but with more TAS colors? The later 90's look with the purple spaceship outfit? The hooded outfit from the very late 90s? 00s: X-Treme X-Men look - I guess that would be a remake with Toybiz doing on? The hooded look from Mike Carey's earlier 80 Men Run? The non-hooded look from his later run, which is most similar to what the unreleased figure was modeled after? 10's - The Uncanny Avengers looks - which would be my second choice? I know she's had more since then but other than Dawn Of X which is very similar to her iconic Jim Lee look they kind of all run together. personally my preferences would be: the Hooded look from her Mike Carey early run or her Uncanny Avengers look. You all know I tend to gravitate to never done before characters over redos and alternate costumes, but it would be great to get another take on Rogue. |

@Ariel
Some of the first TPBs I purchased were the Official Handbook of Marvel Universe and I own the complete set along with the Marvel Encyclopedia, which is pretty unimpressive by the way. While Wiki has tried to fill the void in the absence of Marvel updating their previous effort, the online resource is rife with errors and often incomplete - voluminous info is overwhelmingly skewed largely toward popular characters or well known heroes and villains. Having poured over the Handbook as a kid and again as an adult has provided me with a different dimension/outlet for the hobby. I recommend the journey to anyone that enjoys reading. If you have a voracious appetite for these things, a world of experience awaits. Marvel had an eclectic mix of talent back then (not bashing current Marvel - I honestly don't know what the tapestry looks like now) with people that came to comics from different industries and backgrounds. There were former engineers, medical professionals, and scientific researchers. The diversity helped them realistically explain powers using plausible ties to real world science in a way that no other publisher did. DC tried with Who's Who, but there wasn't really a comparison to be made. @Starlord Lol Yup, I remember having a crush on her! I loved those toys, my dude! They were pretty well done, to boot. I had a lot of them. Crystar and Moltar were the best from an execution perspective, but Feldspar may have been my underground fav as a mixture of the two factions. I remember being disappointed that Warbow's proportions were off and the toy was smaller than Crystar, when it should have been the opposite. That's really awesome that you passed them along to your sons - generational fandom is pretty gratifying. These are the moments where being an old-head feels pretty damn good! Lol |

So awesome, me as well. My buddies still send me texts asking me to identify the artist from our era and I still manage to make them shake their heads in disbelief. Good to know we weren't the only ones doing that...crazy stuff!

I’m all for Hasbro rereleasing ANY figure that starts going up in value. Just means supply is dwindling and more people want access. Core characters should be in circulation every 3 years or so, minimum. Rogue being 80+ is ridiculous when she was shelfwarming 3 years ago.

Picked up the Dan Slott F4 team to finish off my Super Skrull. The Fantastic Four figures are nice, but I've already got my preferred F4 so I can't get too excited about them (btw, anybody else notice a trend of modern superhero costumes having black as a predominant color?I'm not too big on that tbh).
The Super Skrull on the other hand? Came out GREAT. Really love having different display options for this guy. But now....I want more Fantastic Four villains. Doom, Super Skrull and Klaw simply aren't enough for my shelf and this first Fantastic Four wave was a pretty damn good wave so I'd like to see another wave tackling some other versions of the team + villains. Hoping the Negative Zone suits or Future Foundation are next. |
