As long as a potential Retro Iron Man wave has a Hypnotia finally making her plastic debut, I'll be happy.
Grabbed Retro Gambit and Rogue today. Rogue's glove-holding hand definitely needs some heat treatment.

I hope we finally get an Echo as well (in addition to the inevitable MCU version they'll make). She's always been one of my favorite C-list street level heroes.

Man... Target's Disney, Star Wars & Marvel mix and match buy 2 get 1 free deal really spoils you. I don't even feel like hunting today knowing I won't get anything free anymore. After I bought two Marvel figs... there weren't any other good Marvel or Star Wars figs on the pegs, so I just got a Baby Yoda plushie as my free item. It is something I would have never paid for, but since it was free... now I have a Baby Yoda plushie... which I also kinda regret, since the plushie kinda looks more like the grey alien from Communion instead of Baby Yoda because of the solid black eyes.

Classic Ultron is perfect as is, I hope there is a waist swivel under the belt though with the mid torso articulation, he will still be able to be posed in good action shots. Perez Ultron is not a shiny metallic armor, so no reason it should be rendered as such. ML classic Ultron is a vast improvement over that outta scale MS version which I never bought due to it being wonky looking & outta scale.

![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: Also, I disagree with your point about the luster of the fig's paint versus classic illustrations of Ultron. Ironically, the Perez photo you've used has three visible highlights of gleam (left shoulder, right forearm, and right knee) along with numerous other shading details commonly used by artists to denote a highly refractive metallic surface. As mentioned earlier, you are entitled to your opinion, but there are always going to be differences out there, even from individuals that also view the Perez 'look' as preferred and iconic, if not definitive or signature. ...you can always quote something I say if you want to have a dialogue, dude. Talking around someone or something can come off as passive aggression. Message threads exist for the purpose of the exchange of ideas on various subjects and I obviously have no qualms about communicating directly to anyone... Edit: In rereading, again, I realized you also referenced my size concerns as well...My comments didn't revolve around 'scale', they were direct references to 'size' with inch (") references. I also believe the Select version to be too large and didn't buy it for the same reasons. However, Hasbro's other comic canon Legends Ultrons do not have the stature I'd want for the figure. If the upcoming Ultron stands at 6", I will be disappointed because that would make my favorite automaton diminutive in comparison to other characters. To help drive what I'm getting at, the mid-large male mold that Namor is on is roughly 6.5". This should help provide perspective for my statement that I hope Ultron is closer to 7" than 6". Again, I'm here if you want to discuss. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 12-06-2020 at 11:28 AM.. |

It didn't matter much to me because outside of the one purchase I made last Sunday, my Targets haven't stocked anything new in months. If they had the Stilt Man wave it would have been handy or some Star Wars figures I wouldn't have minded actually buying (isn't there supposed to be figures in a new packaging style?), but my toy isles have looked like wastelands since May and have hardly been stocked since. I figured out what you were referring to. Thanks.

Target delayed my Rogue pre-order again. Originally she was supposed to get here last week, then this week, and now she’s not supposed to be arriving until next Tuesday (the 15th). She had been “preparing to ship” for two weeks. And now she’s in Ontario, which is a nice change of pace, as weird as it is that she’s in another country. Maybe she’s fighting Wendigo.

I hope you are right, but I'm not sure how you can definitively state what you have without having the fig in hand. While the removal of the ab crunch worked out (for the most part - I've still druthers...) with Doom and Kang, some of us have higher expectations of figure pose-range and articulation. Something might be good enough for you, but you aren't the arbiter for the wants of others. Edit: Also, I disagree with your point about the luster of the fig's paint versus classic illustrations of Ultron. When I say I want him in 6' scale, I mean the Hasbro 6' scale which is more like 6.5 inches in hgt , so I hope he is as tall as the 80th anniv Ironman fig. As far as the Perez Ultron, that for me is his most iconic & favorite version ever & am estatic that Hasbro finally did him based on Perez version & not some other artist crap rendition such as the famous TB Dog Face Ultron or any toon based crap version such as the one from the Avengers united crapfest toon. |

Select is absolute perfection as far as I'm concerned- but that won't stop me from getting a few Legends as drones (so hopefully they are a bit smaller than "Prime")
![]() Amd while I can't wait to add the new MODOK to my bad-guys shelf, it won't be taking the Toybiz place in the AIM dio. ![]() I'm also really glad I bailed on MEZCO's white Magneto- the ML version looks soooo good. I think those are the only "replacement" options shown that already have existing figures from other lines- Can't wait for Tri-Sentinel (Theta?) and Omega to join the massive Sentinel army growing on the desk behind me- ![]() |

I had to Wikipedia Century and Hypnotia. I'm guessing they are mostly from the Iron Man cartoon.
Century looks to me like a generic 90's bad guy, but I was shocked at Hypnotia, as she looks like taking a big design clue from Marionette from the Micronauts. Now, who's leaked that Iron Man list? I must have missed it somehow. Re: Ultron. I own the Marvel Select one, and he is lovely, but the ball joints are not great, thou ok for a robot, and the size is too large for ML. Similar to the MS Colossus, you can fudge it, but it's not quite right, kind of thing. As to which one is the "classic Ultron" that differs, from fan to fan. Of course down to the nature of when and where you saw him first. I can see, ML is moving a bit more towards 80's/ 90's with some 70's thrown in. I can see by the ages of the Hasbro team and the fanbase that there's a trend to go 90's forward. I wonder why that is. Is it because the older fans don't care about collecting, or rather the explosion of Marvel Spider-man and X-men plus cartoons, have left a stronger Mark? I guess the later. Nonetheless, I am thrill at the depth of characters within the MU being produced. It's wonderful. DC had a good run with Mattel, but it seems, the current focus is about only two characters (Bats and Harley). I always remember a quote from the (sometimes naughty) Stan Lee, saying something like Marvel characters and popular, DC are not, Nuff said. Again, when someone like me has to google a Marvel Character like Hypnotia (and yes, I own Phantazia figurine from McDonals) , and I get a bit excited about this or that character, and want to learn more, I'd say the Hasbro people are doing a-okey. Heck, I got my Jocasta, and now Ultron right? Life's good. |

@TheBlueMarvel
I think the TB Ultron also had some elements from his Ultimate Alliance appearance thrown in as well, but those elements could've just been taken from the comics anyway ![]() |

If there is a Iron Man Vintage wave I hope there's a rerelease of Dreadknight. I always wanted the one from the SDCC Raft Boxset but I never got around to buying it. And though I'm sure the sentiment of mostly everyone is we need a straightup comic Mandarin, I would want a green one like in the 90s show. I can't help picturing him like that in my mind's eye.

While I originally had no interest or intention of picking up the Cyborg Spider-Man figure, I ended up grabbing him during the buy two sale at Target last week...he was free...so why not?
A couple of thoughts...

I would love an Echo and would plan on getting both comic and MCU versions of her. Hopefully she is coming sooner than later. I also enjoy Elektra's new Daredevil look. It keeps to her personal design elements while adding the iconic Daredevil mask/helmet. Id be interested in one as a Legends figure.
Im enjoying everyone's wants for a retro FF wave and the rumored Iron Man wave. Hypnotia would be a fun choice in an Iron Man wave. Obscure with a connection to the 90s cartoon, shes got an eye catching look. I hope Hasbro uses this Iron Man wave to really go for making a lot of villians instead of over doing it on Iron Man armors. Though if they need more armor suggestions Id like to see an Ultimate Black Widow armor. I know its been awhile since they've done anyone from the Ultimate universe but if they have to hit an armor quota per Iron Man wave why not? Is it known yet if the Iron Man wave is retro or a regular wave? |
