![]() I nabbed MODOK on amazon for $35. At that price (which he's still available for as of my typing) it's hard to find any complaints, although some assembly instructions would've saved me a few minutes of feeling like a moron. He looks great, I really like how the colors turned out and switching the faces is simple yet satisfying. As a QC defect mine has two left forearms but the actual impact on the figure is very minimal since his limbs are so stumpy in the first place. Even having seen pictures online I was still impressed by how big he is in-hand. All things considered I'm very happy to finally have this MODOK.

Also when I did my MODOK post I forgot to mention how much I love his Potato Head storage feature, keeping body parts in his trunk like Dahmer.

If I'm going to read into things (possibly too much): the Excalibur omnibus being at the end and slightly skewed grabs my eye and they dropped hints at it already, Toybiz Cap and Hawkeye could imply new releases/repaints, retro F4 toy behind Hawkeye so we might see more of that new wave, and there's the book for the X-Men cartoon behind Hood but since we already have all of the main cast made maybe just a box set release (this might be the biggest stretch).

Ran into Surtur today at Target and picked him up. He's big and imposing, and the translucent plastic looks excellent. He's basically on an upscaled Sony Venom body, which gives him a great range of motion (though the sculpt limits the arm articulation...he can't strike a proper T-pose,) and despite being an MCU version of the character, I feel he makes for a great comic version in a pinch.
He has one...severely fatal flaw however. While his knees have strong ratchets inside for stability, the ankles themselves have no ratchets whatsoever. It didn't take all that long for the ankles to become loose thanks to the type of plastic being used here, and as a result, getting him to stand has already become a chore.. He's very top heavy, so unless you play on leaning him against something, I wouldn't even think about putting this on the shelf without a stand, unless you want a pile of figures on the floor the next morning. |

See this is why I tend not to read too much into these images. The figure setup in question could be a tease for MCU He Who Remains or it could just be a nod to the show using the toys available. Personally I'm leaning toward the latter, we'll have to wait until Quantamania and then we'll just get MCU Kang proper.

I have no idea what the hell is going on at my Target, but this was the toy isle tonight:
![]() They had absolutely NO Marvel figures at all (not even a price tag) on top of GI Joes (okay, that's not surprising), and Star Wars. There were 3 Power Rangers and 1 Transformer. That was it. WTF?

I'm hoping we'll at least see some Retro Fantastic Four figures revealed tomorrow. I'd also love to see more Retro Spider-Man figures. As for Captain America, Dan Yun did say that there would be something revealed for Cap later this year. I don't know if a new Hawkeye figure will be revealed, but I hope I'm wrong. I hope the next classic Hawkeye figure has a shrunken Ant-Man on an arrow like the Toy Biz Legends figure had. After seeing the Compound Hulk figure, I just hope we'll see a new sold-separately classic green savage Hulk in the future and more figures of his rogues gallery.

Long time no post. I hope everyone is well. I'm excited to see what is revealed today. I really thought we were going to get the No Way Home trailer by now, but since we didn't, I guess we won't see that wave revealed. Maybe a formal announcement of the Eternals wave? Vintage F4 Wave?

Were I a betting man, I’d bet on the reteo Fantastic Four. Besides them, I really can’t wait much longer to see Excalibur! Finally clearing some room on my top ten list for next year (looks like Stingray won’t any “also-ran” any more). Beyond those two things, let’s think about what else we know is coming:
- Skrull army-builder (today’s as good a time as any, really just depends on how much they want to show us). - SHIELD agent army-builder (ditto). - Tigra (I could see them waiting to announce her for a Marvel Monday like Hercules. Which is fine because it still means we’ll see her within the next couple of weeks. I’m anxious to get a look at the finished figure to see if I like her better than the mock-up. Really hoping that is the case). - “What If?” figures/ full Disney+ wave two (probably being saved for a larger press release from Marvel or Entertainment Weekly or whoever like the figures for most of the other D+ shows). - Eternals figures (same as “What If?,” will more likely be revealed through other channels). - Spider-Man wave (definitely not seeing these until the trailer is released, although maybe we’ll see Miles & the comic figure soon-ish). - More Walgreens Exclusives (I don’t think they’ve said if officially if more are coming, but judging by years past, we’re in for two more? I would say we’re about due for another reveal, but maybe they’ll hold off for the next panel). - Captain America… something (I’m going to say later in the year?). … and then there are unconfirmed by Hasbro but probably on their way items like Fan Channel tie-ins for the retro F.F. wave and more retro Spidey. The Spidey ones particularly are an interesting mystery because of the two announced figures, one matches leaks, and the other doesn’t. Which means that other leaked figures (Hobgoblin et. all) may or may not be coming, but it also means we could get unexpected reissues/ retools (Rhino, Shocker) that would be an awesome surprise. Edit: I do hope that before we see any more Walgreens figures, they give us an update on what’s up with Nova & Quasar. For all the shit I give them, the Legends team is usually pretty helpful & transparent about stuff like that (Target pre-order problems, Amazon cancellations). If that's the case I wonder how they're going to work the Eternals wave official reveal (even though we know what's in it already) For today? F4 vintage has got to be on the table at some point. I have no idea what else. And honestly, after much hype that has personally led to lackluster reveals this year, if it's not X-men or a handful of other characters I'm getting less and less interested. But that is just me. Also noting got another Haslab Galatus hype/push email. They are pushing this thing hard since the numbers are nowhere near what the Sentinel numbers were at this point. I'm actually wondering if it's going to make that 14,000 goal. |

I am wondering, with the turnaround here in the states with the Covid variants and rising cases, if they're waiting to make a decision to push back the Spider-Man movie or not. Eternals and Shang-Chi too, since Black Widow theater numbers are lower than anticipated and they likely won't want to do a combined Theater/D+ release.

They probably shouldn't have jacked up the numbers so high. It's also odd they don't intend to release tiers/stretch goals until after it hits 14k backed (assuming they even get there). Not sure what the logic is behind that. All around this project seems botched.

Wow, I may be in for all of the second D+ wave....these figures all look good, except for Spider-Man who's pretty phoned in and most of us could make out of existing figures. But that's literally the only one that's not interesting. At the same time, I'm not in "gotta have 'em mode" so it may just be a wait and see if I can find it on my own.
Edit: here they go pushing that Galactus hard. It's almost painful to watch. Last edited by Captain Nash; 07-28-2021 at 08:23 AM.. |

Pro: The Watcher BAF is only 4 parts.
Con: The Watcher BAF is not classic. I really hope they get to the Excalibur figures that they have been slow playing. |

Woke up late, caught up, absolutely nothing I would drop a dime on. Disappointing. -_-
Outside of Galactus rehash, all of this has just been MCU stuff again. UGH. I want comic related reveals for X-Men and Spider-Man.

Would've been better if they didn't have the animated style to them. I get why, but c'mon....
