I saw Dan Yun's most recent post on Instagram. He had a number of the retro card Avengers shown off and said something about the old Avengers Arcade Game. I remember Hawkeye flew a sky cycle in that. I wonder if that's a hint to something we're going to see today since it's long been rumored.

That game had a number of villains that have been made, but it also had the Wizard and the Mandarin. Given that Hasbro is trying to pull out all the stops in light of the discontent among collectors, I wouldn't be surprised to see either. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Hawkeye with posthumously late sky-cycle well after they discontinued the 'legendary riders' offerings.
And a new Mandarin, in either a new outfit or redone from the faceoff design...it needs to happen SO BADLY. The TB Mandarin is not TB Lady Deathstrike levels of awful, but he's up there. |

Missed the livestream, but based on what I see shown on Marvelous News, here are some thoughts of the ones I care about:
Rose and Tarantula will be instant buys, but it sucks they aren't using pinless joints. Sad that I have to buy an animated two pack to get an Aunt May figure, but at least the bendy wire arms are compatible with the classic Doc Ock. As such, I will preorder them for sure.' The Adaptoid is cool because I just encountered him in my X-Men comics, but I'm not intersted in the rest of the wae to build him. Widow looks good, but do I really need another version of Widow??? Grey Hulk and Bruce looks cool, but I'll let the price decide for me. That's about it.

The video game tease was 100 percent the sky cycle. I don't know about the rest of the villains.

I would love a retro card 90s Mandarin, but I've long wondered if the character is on Marvel's "black list" or not with guys like comic Ancient One.
Nothing stopping them from doing the Wizard someday, like most villains he just needs an opportunity. |

It's not a Marvel or Hasbro “blacklist” scenario as much as these characters were created with ‘Yellow Peril’ sensibilities and their original looks evoke racist Fu Manchu imagery. The scuttlebutt regarding the MCU Ancient One, was more about his backstory and being from Tibet. The celebration of Tibetan culture was seen as potentially problematic, so Feige altered the character to promote viewership in China. No “blacklist.” No altruism, either. Just money, as usual.

I'd go for a retro carded Mandarin from the 90s Iron Man cartoon.

None of these reveals really grabbed me. My biggest disappointment is that the Super Skrull in the two-pack isn't Kl'rt but instead the one-off Illuminati infiltrator. I'm also let down by the Bruce/Hulk pack, really just the Bruce. This Grey Hulk looks fine but I already have the retro-cardback Grey Hulk. The fabric on Hawkeye looks pretty cheap but it allows to him actually sit and I imagine it can be sort of hidden at that point.

He's maybe my #2 or #3 most wanted non-Spidey or non-X-Men Marvel villain left from Legends. Which is why it's unfortunate that he may never happen. (Unless they try to backdoor him into a HasLab like they tried with Mephisto, but we saw how that turned out). |

The reason is of course money, specifically in Ancient One's case the sales from China, but it has long carried over beyond just the MCU. An actual "blacklist" is theoretical, but technically exists since we know there are many characters or versions of characters that have never been made by Hasbro and we can easily guess the various reasons why they are likely not approved whether because licensor, Hasbro management/legal, or maybe even both. Mandarin I fear really is among them.

Fan channel is good, as long as we get Mandarin and Mephisto in Marvel Legends form. But on the other hand, if Mandarin and Mephisto are release as Hasbro pulse exclusives, hasbro would have to worry about any backlashes of controversial figures sold in stores.

I think you are swapping opinion for theory there, but I understand where you are coming from. I doubt there is a figure blacklist but I agree that certain figures just won’t be made and I also fear that the Mandarin is one of those characters. The look of the Mandarin isn’t exactly offensive, to me, but I do think he happens to look like a call back to “yellow peril” characters like Fu Manchu making him less than ideal within our modern context.

Been a minute.... doesn't seem like much has changed around these parts though. My disappointments with the livestream are no real comic She-Hulk and no classic Mockingbird, also that new Spider Woman costume seems like an odd choice considering that it was used against Jessica to drain and destabilize her powers, and was only worn in like maybe 6 issues of her last solo title if that. Also I would have preferred classic green Sersi

So I learned and apparently Pulse doesn't do free shipping anymore on orders over $50, which is bullshit.

Well they definitely brought it yesterday..I know all that stuff was on the leaky list but it's something else to actually see it. It sucks having to be more responsible and selective with money. Also while I bet all of you are probably right about Giant Man being the Haslab I'm still in the camp of wanting Fin Fang Foom more.

You're also right about being more selective. Did anyone else notice Starting Lineup figs are now permanently priced at $29.99? |

From the live stream, was not very interested in the MCU figures waves. Enjoyed seeing that Doc Ock with the bendable tentacles, and the Ben Reiley figures looked very interesting. Also liked seeing the Avengers Anniversary figures. Hulk and Banner, and the Skrull Soilders, I am on the fence about, but the Thor and Destroyer, Hawkeye and skycycle, Ironman and Bucky Cap are must haves for me. The giant Skrull Soilder does look interesting, and I think I will end up getting this because it so unique and different. But the star of the stream for me, was Black Widow, to me, she looks great.
