![]() And if you're already doing Monet, Husk, Jubilee and Synch in coordinating uniforms, doing the other other two team members in the uniforms they wore at the time, while stylistically different still matched would not be out of the question. Did Skin ever have another uniform? |

Gray Beast is more accurate to this time frame no?
![]() They really need to finish up this era. Storm's base courtesy of Black Adam Cyclone who was $5 on Amazon ![]()

Beast was already blue-furred by the time he joined the Avengers. Gray Beast has the more period accurate head sculpt & trunks. So neither is a perfect match.

The only Animated Series 2 pack that made sense was the MJ/Green Goblin 2 pack. For the rest, it's all about pairing up a good guy and a bad guy regardless of whether or not they met in the show. |

I was originally all in on the Spider-Man Animated VHS sets...but this set wreaks. It sucks because I think the Hydro Man looks cool...but good God that DD looks awful. The lack of consistency is frustrating. It looked like we were going away from Hasbro's awful cel shading attempts, as the previous 3 sets had none...and then here is DD...just covered in it. It looks like the figure was just accidentally dropped face down into a tray of black paint. Not only that...DD appeared in maybe 2 or 3 episodes as a cameo? Sadly for me, this will be the first of the SM VHS box sets I'll be passing on. They should have gone with Madame Web. She was featured in a bunch of episodes throughout the course of the series, and had the show moved into a 6th season, would have been a part of a longer story arc. Madame Web also has a movie coming out next week (take that with a grain of salt.) I realize it might not have made for the most exciting choice for a two pack, but she could have easily been done as a solo deluxe release with a throne and swappable parts for her to properly sit in it. It would have made for some perfect timing with whatever hype the movie might be able to help generate to get her out there now as opposed to later. Trivial Psychic - Doc Ock and Aunt May only met in the two "The Insidious Six" episodes of Season Two, so their pairing made sense, especially given their long history and friendship in the comic books. I know a lot of fans wanted it to be Felicia Hardy paired with Ock than May, but hopefully she will be in a two-pack with Morbius or her Black Cat disguise. As for Daredevil, he appeared in two full episodes of Season Three as a full guest star, not as a cameo. He helped Spider-Man clear Peter Parker's name after being framed by Alistair Smythe and the Kingpin. Daredevil fought the Chameleon and the Kingpin, but neither one got paired with DD for this two-pack. I can see why Kingpin wasn't due to his size, but the Chameleon should have been with him. I actually like the cel-shaded look here for Daredevil, as this matches how he looked on the show. But pairing him with Hydro-Man makes no sense whatsoever. They even never met on the show since Hydro-Man died in his debut episode of Season Two and his clone appeared for two episodes of Season Five. I'm curious if this means we'll get other guest heroes on the show for two-packs, like having Chameleon with Nick Fury, Iron Man with Venom, and Captain America with Electro. Seeing Wolverine and Herbert Landon together would be fun too as a nod to the two-parter from Season Two that had the X-Men and Hobgoblin, or we could get a show-accurate looking Hobgoblin instead. The Retro wave figure for Hobgoblin was just terrible looking, as it didn't look anything like the TV series version OR the comics version.
Also, I'm in the minority, but I don't want a Madame Web in my collection. She was one of the most obnoxious and arrogant characters on the show. Every time she was on the show, I cringed having to watch her explain things to Spider-Man that he either already knew or could have figured out for himself. Seeing Madame Web and Spider-Man head off to go find, but never actually doing so on-screen, the real Mary Jane in the series finale still leaves me disappointed 26 years after watching it. |

There will be a couple more of the Spider-Man VHS 2-pks in 2024. And the characters might not be in the same episode. Understand this is not for everyone but thank you again to everyone who worked on this item

Reminder that we’re still able to have some Spider-Man animated character looks via retro cards too and not just thru the VHS 2-pks

If an animated Morbius is done...it should definitely come with an animated Blade. There is no exception to this...unless of course we get an animated Whistler (who made his debut in the series) to come with Blade. That would be an embarrassment of riches though and would probably be too much in the way of wishful thinking. ![]() Quote:

Still wouldn't turn down a figure of her though. They could have even thrown in a Dakota Johnson head for shits and giggles, even though I doubt she dons anything remotely similar to Madame Web's comic look in the film. Random thought...although the movie looks dreadful, and I don't invest much in MCU figs these days, I wouldn't turn away figs of the SCU Maddie, Jessica, and Anya in their respective Spider-Women costumes. I think those all came out rather keen. |

Looking over the toy guides as well as the Animated Series character list, I feel like the major villains left to make in show accurate costumes are:
For the heroes or allies that are left, I think most of the heroes that Spider-Man teamed up with on the show don't need to appear in this line. The one exception I can think of would be Iron Man. He's wearing his Modular Armor but the deco is unique to Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Otherwise, it mostly comes down to people who are friends with Peter Parker:
Man-Spider and Madame Web would need to be deluxe figures due to their size. I don't want a Madame Web but she appeared in several episodes so I would imagine that someone wants her. Man-Spider is one I definitely want though. I feel like Hasbro wants to wrap up Spider-Man The Animated Series this year. They've done these retro hardbacks for several years and most characters have at least gotten a semi/fairly accurate figure. I think Hasbro will skip figure lines for the next couple of SM cartoons since they're Spider-Man Unlimited and MTV's Spider-Man: The New Animated Series. However, I think we could see a Spider-Man Unlimited figure soon since he appeared in Across the Spider-Verse. |

Does anybody have the picture of the MCU She-Hulk digital render that showed she was originally going to include a pair of grasping hands?

Trivial Psychic - I could still see a Felicia Hardy/Black Cat two pack by giving her a new body mold and cel-shading, but I really hope we get a Felicia Hardy/Morbius two-pack. A two-pack of Blade and Whistler would be amazing and I'd love to see the Punisher get a figure made. His aqua blue suit was a little odd, but the show somehow made it work and look good to me. The only heroes on "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" whose looks I didn't like were Captain America and the Thing. The aqua blue and muted maroon red on Cap's uniform for the show still leaves me scratching my head.
jwyss234 - Going with your list of villains, I'd add in Shocker in his black-and-red suit with white vibro-shock blasts, Tombstone, the Spot, and Electro. They could just give Shocker a new head with actual eyes this time. A new Lizard and new Deluxe figures of Kingpin and Alistair Smythe in his hoverchair would be nice too, however unlikely, and I'd love a Herbert Landon since Hasbro loves business suit figures nowadays. I would also love re-releases of Spider-Man and Venom, since previous figures for them were sold as exclusives. I also want Green Goblin redone, as the gloves, belt and boots are wrong and the Glider is the wrong shape, but we'd likely get re-releases for villains like Scorpion in a trench coat and removable hat and Doctor Octopus in a trench coat before we get a redone Green Goblin (not that I'd be against trench coat figures for those two). For civilian figures, I'd love to see figures for Harry Osborn and Joe "Robbie" Robertson made. J. Jonah Jameson, Dr. Curt Connors, Eddie Brock, Flash Thompson and Debra Whitman would be fun too. P.S. I doubt Hasbro would wrap up their "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" Retro wave anytime soon, given how well it sells. The old Toy Biz animated series waves went on a few years after the show ended, so I can see Hasbro keeping it around for a few more years. There are still plenty of A-list enemies, Spider-Man costumes, guest heroes, civilians, lesser-known villains and alternate costumes for existing characters left to make to keep the line going. I'm hopeful we'll at least get Retro figures for Chameleon, Vulture, Doc Ock (in the green-and-orange suit or Armani suit) with bendable tentacles, Beetle, Boomerang, first appearance Mary Jane Watson, Calypso, Speed Demon, Venom, Kaine, Stunner, Octo-Spidey, Lady Octopus and Scorpia before the line ends. I'm kinda disappointed that Blade just celebrated its 25th anniversary this past year, and we saw nothing to commemorate it. Wesley Snipes' legal issues aside, the movie saved Marvel's film industry and at the very least, an updated, modern version of the incredible ToyBiz figure (on that sweet Toybiz Movie card) would have been awesome. If they ever do get around to putting out an animated series Punisher, hopefully they will go the route they did with the retro Beast and give him a cloth goods trench coat for that 90's edge lord look. |

@Trivial Psychic - I'm disappointed, but not surprised, Blade didn't get an anniversary. I would've thought that Hulk and Thor would've had something done for their 60th anniversary years in 2022 and for the Tobey Maguire 'Spider-Man' film for its 20th anniversary, but those never happened. Ghost Rider also got completely snubbed (and I'm not counting that failed HasLab either) and only got a Retro figure. We also have a ton of anniversaries this year that Hasbro could have made new figures and waves for, but instead we're getting just Wolverine, Secret Wars and a third to-be-announced project (possibly these "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" figures) for anniversary waves this year. I just hope that they choose wisely on which characters get made into figures for "Secret Wars" this year. There are too many characters that need updates and need to get first-time figures for that.
