I ran into both Harley and Bat-Bale at TRU today, and snagged me a Bat-Bale. Of course though, no Ledgers...lol.

No pics of Harley as I just not into her, but I can easily say that she looks better than any of the Arkham figures of her thus far. Surprised that NECA was allowed to put her out in the first place.

Now as for Bat-Bale, if you get a chance to find this guy in the wild, do it, as he has one of the most intense stares that you ever will see on an action figure, and on some of them, the paint was a bit muddled, turning it from an intense stare to a glassy eyed, insomniac/meth addict one...

Seeing these two on the shelves though gives me hope that we'll be seeing scaled down versions of NECA's movie Turtles soon enough...

Was just at TRU. No sign of them yet, but they did have the new Predators. Snatched them up right quick.

Finally got a chance to open up Bat-Bale...here's a couple of thoughts in case any of you were wondering...

  • Cape is way better done than the Keaton Batman, and is a thicker and nicer material overall. It has some weight to it on the sides thanks to the seams, and hangs well off of his shoulders.

  • There is a small amount of glue on the figure's back that holds the cape to the cowl, but can be easily freed and while there is some white glue residue under the cape on my figure's back, it isn't noticeable as the cape covers it.

  • Head can turn and tilt. Yay!

  • Body construction is way better and a bit more sturdy than the Keaton Batman with a few notable exceptions. I was able to bend the arms at the elbows and knees with no problems, as well as pose the figure at the hips as well without fear of snapping anything off. Figure can do the splits just like the 1/4 scale, offering up some nice side kicking poses for you ACBA types.

  • The ball jointed shoulders however are another issue altogether, and scare me, as they are EXTREMELY tight. While I have full rotation, there is no way I am going to even attempt to swivel them outward without giving him a hot bath first.

  • Belt is glued to the figure curiously, and on mine, it's off center with the Batsuit's abdomen/torso just ever so slightly, but is noticeable. I might try and cut the belt free and reglue.

  • Speaking of the torso, the abdomen on mine is off center from the hips, but doesn't swivel. I'm wondering if this is because there is an actual joint there that has been glued accidentally due to the belt, or if this is simply how the figure was designed. The upper torso swivels just fine.

  • Interchangeable hands have Marvel Legends styled wrist swivels now as opposed to the old fashioned NECA ball joints, but are super tight as well. I'd highly recommend heating up before attempting to move those wrist swivels. They pop on and off easy enough though.

  • Ankle joints have rocker pivot thanks to a ball joints in them, but again, super tight. Handle with care.

EDIT: So there is articulation at the waist as well as the torso. A little bit of the glue from the belt spilt over onto the waist pivot, which I was able to free up with some careful manipulation. Freeing this joint also helped with the off center issue I was having with the belt.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too soon; the licensing problems between NECA and Playmates is probably worse than the licensing issues between NECA and Mattel.

Maybe, but NECA is great at finding loopholes in everything. They have already managed to give us two Turtle sets under the con exclusive banner, perhaps they could do the same next year with scaled down versions of the Turtles along with an all new set featuring the movie Foot Clan (Tatsu, Shredder, and two foot soldiers.)

Ouch...I can't believe I said that, especially cause I hate exclusives. My wallet hurts just thinking of it.

Got these two last night at the Billings, MT TRU.
They're both great figures, I'm especially liking the Harley.
There was about 10 of each on the shelf so I got to pick the best paint apps available.
A few of the Harley's had messed up eyebrows and Bats eyes all looked wonky.
Still, thanks NECA for the early X-Mas present.

They always say there's no guarantees when it comes to 7" DC figures, but we at least know it's possible. And it's not as if they ever say anything about it months in advance, it's always a surprise right around the holiday season.

BTW, are these figures part of a DVD/Blu Ray promotion like the previous years?

I found Batman today at TRU in Murfreesboro, TN. I didn't see Harley. Batman was in with the DC figures instead of the DVD section. They had a hand full on the peg so I was able to choose one that didn't look too bug eyed.

I didn't see anything about getting a dvd or blu ray with my figure. I'm guessing that after last year, TRU was stuck with a bunch of dvds that no one wanted to buy.

These are in NY now. They're spreading like wildfire!

I left Harley as I'm not into any of her Arkham designs...I prefer old-school Animated Series Harley, and not any of her sleazy juggalo looks. But I do dig Bat-Bale, so I grabbed that figure up.

And yeah, that stare. It's like he's saying, "Wait a second...I'M BATMAN?!?"

Batman musta been hanging out with peter griffin when he had coke! "I am so f&$kimg ready." I so want the harley as this figue really looks good as opposed to her orignal dc collectibles release, which looked down right hideous,

BTW, my TRU had the new Kenner Predators in as well, so I scored a Spiked Tail. No Clan Leader sightings yet, however.

I think Randy addressed this on Twitter saying something to the effect of these two figures not being part of a deal with Warner Bros Home Video but just with Toys R Us. So that would explain the lack of any DVD promotion and no official WB eBay listings like the figures had last year.

Yeah, they were set up with the other grown-up figures, not in the DVD aisle like Leger Joker and '66 Batman were. Although when Leger was recently re-released he was with the figures as well.

Is that why Neca did a video game Harley this year? I thought they had said last year that the video game 1/4 scale figures were off limits for the 7" line. I certainly wouldn't mind a 7" Arkham Knight Batman.

Well this was my store earlier today when I went in to check.

There were two levels beneath this shot of pretty much the exact same thing. I picked up Batman and I have no interest in Harley Quinn but man they had a bunch of each and overall the paint was pretty good as I checked every Batman's eyes to get the best I could.
Using a black twist tie I had from the GMK Godzilla I got the other week I was able to spread the cape and sure enough it does have the bat-wing shape.

I am extremely happy with this figure. The paint is good, the sculpt is great, and the joints on mine are actually really nice. I'm not even displaying mine with the accessories but the hands are fairly easily switched and he holds stuff well.

I'd like that Harley, but TRU Australia don't seem to carry main line NECA products let alone exclusives.

Yeah, I like this 7" Bat-Bale way more then the 7" Keaton Batman. Something about the Keaton figure just felt off to me, mostly in how the ab crunch made the torso look weird and the fact that the ears were warped to shit. I actually returned that one to TRU, but Bat-Bale is bad-ass. Great figure.

Very cool! Yeah I have to have this. Great looking figure! Thanks for the update about the cape, looks very cool like that. I found a huge NECA box over the weekend at only 1 TRU, but only a NECA rep could unpack it. I was unable to buy one
I'll have to check this coming weekend and see what I can find.

What is that black thing I circled? The back of the box says it's a "gun clip." I guess it somehow allows you to attach the grapnel gun to Bat-Bale's belt? I have no idea how, though.

Yeah, that's the gun clip for the belt. The three pronged side holds the gun and the other end should clip onto the belt. Once I get it in hand, I'll post a close up of how it's supposed to attach.
