This is my first photo shoot in a while, and first with this camera. Also first with a black background. Testing things out, will hopefully get some setup and camera settings worked out soon that will make em better.

So, check out the only universe figure i own - Onslaught!

Edit: Updated with vehicle mode pics. Adjusted lighting, settings, still working things out.

What sort of background is this? The reflections look nice! I tried black paper bg, but the result wasn't good at all.

I have Henkei Onslaught, and like him enough to want Universe version as well

It is actually a fabric shower curtain. Has a nice texture to it. Instead of trying to make the backgrounds pure and solid, I'm gonna try using backgrounds that have some texture and color, wrinkles, etc instead. That way I don't waste time on shadows and stuff, focus on the figures.

That sounds interesting I will check out the local curtain shop in case they have some cool fabric.

Nice pics, Tony. It's a nice change from the standard stark white background and it gives the figure more character. I am curious how predominately black figures would appear, though.

Onslaught rocks. He was the first Universe Ultra fig I got, and he's just so impressive in either mode. Plus I like how he towers over most of the other Classics/Universe figures. I still hope we get Motormaster, Hot Spot, Scattershot and Hun-Grrr in the Ultra Class as well, if we can't get new mold versions of the combiner teams instead. I mean, Onslaught evokes Bruticus all by himself.

But how does it reflect at the bottom? It almost reflects like glass or somethin.

Looks like there is a sheet of glass there too. You can see a line in the first pic.

Nice shots!!! He's definitely one of my favorite recent figures!

Fabric = Got it at Wal Mart in the shower section, 9 bucks. Did some more last night, will post soon.

Sweet. Where do you suggest I buy a piece of glass from?

Updated with some vehicle mode pics.

Glass - get a picture frame, use the glass that comes with it.

Hey, Tony. Have you taken anymore pics since this shoot?

You said you were testing things out before, that's why I ask.

I have messaged Tony twice asking some questions, but he hasn't replied. I guess he is just too busy.

Nice pics I really liked this figure when I picked him up, but it's just sad he's not part of a new Bruticus combiner mold.

I think he does very well for not being a combiner. He size and shape alone evoke Bruticus to me, so much that I don't really mind.

I'm sure someone could kitbash him into a combiner, though. Maybe repaint Hound as Swindle, Astrotrain as Blast Off and the 2-pack Megatron as Brawl. No idea what to do about Vortex (U. Blades is too big).

Energon Strongarm for swindle, astro train for blastoff, 2 pack megs for brawl, and armada cyclonus for vortex. Though I guess hound could work too, I just already know strongarm is the perfect height if you use astrotrain for the other leg.

It'd look pretty sweet too with the Onslaught shoulders.

And that Onslaught Gallery is epic sweet! Keep up the AWESOME work!
