This system is fantastic, but..
This system makes me post more because now people respond more often, but.. This system makes me excited to level up, but... But.. It may ruin us if it stays the exact same. Offering so many points for thread starting is not smart. I'd say make it 1 point.. but to be fair, I guess lower it to like 5, which is less than a post. Give me 0 for this one.. I don't really mind! I don't post for prizes, never will. I post because I loved the genuine love for toys the people on this forum have. We need incentive to make people want to get involved in topics that are solid conversations instead of randomly making something new. People complained about the few "what figure do you want to see?" threads.. and I agreed.. they got out of hand. But those were nothing compared to what this will become. We might as well rename this forum to facebook's twitter of four square and general discussion. Now I may be being harsh, but random lottery threads or one answer question threads are silly. They take up space when I want to read the ones of people's daily adventures toy searching, or amazing setups, pictures, or random finds, laughs, deals, prices, etc. The prize idea is great and wonderful incentive to some to be more active. I love more active forums, but when that "activeness" is just annoying and spam at best 75% of the time.. I feel like logging on to read less. tldr; Don't ruin these amazing forums by rewarding new thread creation, reward people for posts and activity first and foremost. That's the heart of the forum community, not pointless thread creation. |

Honestly, I think you all should kill it entirely as it makes the Site less about being a Forum and more about being a game to see how many things folks can write. The level of BS has already gone through the roof and it is bound to only get ugly. There just has to be a better way to get people involved.

You could have posted this in the Toyark experience thread. I agree with parts of what you said but still disagree that you should be given points for every post. I see the strong members of this website eventually fading to the background if things stay the way they are. In case that does happen, heres a shout out to everyone I'd like to thank personally for making this site a great community.
Tiberius, Optimus Vader, JamesRuddy, Ludovicotek, Dogfashiondisco, Andycr75, Jasonabbadon - all fantastic forum members and exemplary individuals. If I missed out on anyone I apologize. Back to our regularly scheduled program of nonsense posts and threads.

The level up thing is plenty fun. It's just a cooler version of "number of posts" or "titles" that plenty of other threads use. But beyond that is dangerous as my post said.

I just hope all the hoopla dies down a bit after the initial rush wears off. Seems like people are coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden to post. Now, don't get me wrong. On one hand I'm happy to see more activity on this wonderful site, but the quality of that activity is what really matters and so far, for the past day that quality has been questionable at best.

I'd like to believe I've been very active and very on topic and helpful with posts and pictures, etc. I've only been a member for a short time, but I've always been active and helpful all I can be, well before this system was added. :x
