Anybody watching the new ThunderCats series on Cartoon Network? I completely forgot that it premiered tonight and just caught it 5 minutes in. Pretty cool so far.

I'm watching, but I'm not impressed so far... I hate the animation style/character designs... and the whole adolescent teen Lion-O isn't working for me... at least not yet, it might grow on me eventually lol

Just ended. I liked it. Not as colorful as the original though. Wish it was a 2-hour premiere so they could have gotten a little farther in the story.

I can be a fan of this for sure. That they kept the original sword of omens call and mumm-ra's transformation spell the same is a big plus in my book. Oh hey Friday nights: what's goin on?

Sharf not talking... ever: endlessly hilarious.
I'm on board.

Just caught episode 6 and must say I enjoy this series more and more as I continue watching. Definitely more memorable for me now than the 80s one.

Yeah, it sucks that they don't replay the episodes throughout the week. I don't have DVR so if I miss it I'm SOL. The DVD comes out on October 18th.

For me the show seems to be sporadic. Some episodes are good, and others just aren't. I think overall it's pretty good, but it has its weak spots.

Yeah, the story is inconsistent a lot of the time. I mean we're already at the Tower of Omens in only 6 episodes. The plot moves fast but some holes here and there like how they didn't realize it was Panthro when they first saw him.

I really still do enjoy this show but the last few moments of the latest episode (13) just makes me cringe. I'm can't say it enough but gonna hate Tygra forever and ever.

I think I will wait for season 1 on DVD before I attempt to catch up on it. Seen figures around and they look cool!

Definately leaps and bounds better than the original. I couldn't stand the old thundercats. Even when I was the target audiance, I couldn't stand it.

But this new series, I love the way it's completely updated, but still carries over all the important key notes of the original. Plus, so many characters are now enjoyable, Snarf and the kids especially.
The animation is great. The animation style is almost a love letter to Kosuke Fujishima, which is aces in my book. The story, even the "bad" episodes are better than most series best.

Thundercats went from one of my least favorite things to one of my most favorite. And I adore Cheetara.

I will definitely pick up the series on DVD when it gets released.

I don't feel like the betrayal was all that significant, really.I've always thought Cheetara and Tygra made a good couple and her relationship with Lion-O was more of a protector/acolyte than a romantic one. Not that it stopped Lion-O from thinking the latter.

In the original series I can accept the two as a couple. In this one, I just can't just based on all the gestures that have been made. I won't accept it ever.

OG Tygra is cool in my book but, I can definitely hate the new one FOREVER.

I'm really looking forward to episode 14 to see how the writers handle the fallout from the events in episode 13.

For those of you who are curious, yes, there be spoilers below.

I would think you'd be more angry at Cheetara rather than Tygra. Tygra was resigned to the fact that she chose Lion-O over him. He was jealous, sure, but he had accepted it. He didn't make any overt attempts to "steal" her from his brother, either. Also, she was the one sending both of them mixed signals (which she freely admitted) and she apparently tried to correct that misconception. Too bad she didn't have a talk with Lion-O about it before she went to see Tygra.

Granted, after the issues the bros went through in the Astral Plain, I'm pretty sure Lion-O is still going to blame Tygra. At least at first.

SPOILER

I was diff rooting for tygra on wining over the girl...i mean lion-o got to be king and inherited the sword and expected to get the girl but does he deserve any of it?

tygra fought for her affections as a child...a stronger sense of duty to his country and race (shown in flash back)...and hes better than lino-o in almost every way.

an lion-o was just so smug about the whole thing...at least admit tygra is his better
