For those shoppers of the LEGO store, you may remember coming across the Vintage Minifigure Collection Volume 1 set, filled with minifigures not released since five to thirty years ago. Above is Volume one. However, the successor to this set has appeared on the internet on Donneyboy's gallery at Brickshelf here : Brickshelf Gallery It is the Volume Two (see below), included within two Space mini-figures, a postal worker, a Pirate, and a Ninja! For the fans of minifigures, this is surely something you can't miss, although as the Volume 1 sold at $20, I might wait a while, but not long. Ninja minifigures are obviously awesome and a mustbuy.

I'd love to have the spacemen and the random citizen but the pirate is probably the dullest one they could've chosen, and I've never been a red ninja fan. Nitpicky!

I is sad that the black Space minifig wasn't a Blacktron instead. Pirate: Helloooooooooooo sailor! Ninja: Why red? Are those more rare than other Ninja minifigs or something? Postman: What, no shotgun? Still, I'd never seen one before, so it's cool.

I love the octon worker in the first set. My brother and I had alot of the city sets growing up like the shell gas stations, which later had their stations taken over by the Octon corporation . We had quite a great town built up with a motorcycle shop, police station and a hospital. We even had the Race set with the starting/finish line. The town's economy certainly benefitted from the races, but alot of lego riff raff came into town. Anyhow back to reality.. I also love the classic spacemen. Space were my favorite sets growing up, we had a whole universe and storyline going on with them. I'd like to see some magnettron minifigs in another collection. So where can one aquire these sets? And what is the cost?

This: Sets that have 193b: Minifig Accessory Helmet Classic with Thick Chin Guard Whereas the new helmet - Sets that have 2446: Minifig Accessory Helmet Modern - just looks out of place to me. I think it's because I grew up with the 1979-1986 space sets. |
