Isn't there supposed to be a sixth figure in this first wave of the 4-inch movie multiverse line? I guess Mattel couldn't secure the rights to Jack Nicholson's likeness for The Joker.

This is what I'm sayin'. Would love some sets of Batmobiles & other vehicles. I hope this line becomes far reaching, especially on movie items.

Ok Mattel... I'm peeved. I had to have the '66 Batmobile... it was the one era missing from my proudly displayed, humbly curated, started when I was 8, source of never-ending joy and/or pride\shame Batmobile collection. HooRAH I said to myself... I had something that wasn't the crazy big Hot Toys version or the 1/64 Hot Wheels.. I had a toy I could give my son someday (when his interests gravitate beyond his own toes)
It arrived in a crushed box which was soaking wet (who knew first class shipping meant BatBoat?), I opened it and was instantly disappointed. I had assumed that since a smaller company like Art Asylum or Diamond Select can produce accurate, detailed and beautiful scale replicas of Doc Brown's Delorean and Jean Luc Picard's Galaxy Class Starship, surely the company responsible for Barbie's Dream Penthouse, Mansion, Cruise Ship, Jetsetting Fashion Jet and Ken's ManScooter would finally, at last, give proper attention to George Barris's iconic masterpiece. While beautiful from afar, it's sorely lacking in the detail befitting a world renowned company like Mattel (would it have killed ya to put a button with some bat-sounds? WHAM! Guess So). But never the less, you know I had to have Adam, Burt and Ceasar to go with it... and Julie is on preorder.
But Now... you show me what I've coveted since I was handed that ToyBiz pamphlet in the movie theater lobby in 1989 (Dad said maybe for Christmas)... only... Keaton's not it the scale of West, Pfeiffer will look like Punky Brewster next to Hathaway and Newmar... None are in the scale of 1966 Batmobile you so generously produced with lacking features, which leads me to believe that should a 1989 Batmobile be in the pipeline, it will be wonderful. You will do a semi-perfect job of using left over plastic from the Barbie line to craft the most phallic icon of the late 80s... BUT, it will be dwarfed by the car I just drove out of your dealership. Why? How cool would it be to have Ceasar Romero and Jack Nicholson's Jokers side by side, same scale, same purple jacket. I truly would scream like Vicki Vale if that happened, only out of joy.
Others are doing phenomenal work with far fewer resources, Mattel... Me thinks there might be a little too much overhead, as is common with legacy companies. I'm an emergency responder working for a state government, I'm used to such over-thought and inaction when it comes to what the people truly need and want. Guess it's too much to ask to stick with what your designers probably told you to do in the first place?

they just released a 6" scale classic batmobile.. why wouldn't we have the same chance in getting a 6" scale keaton batmobile? i don't think 4 inch scale would be more likely seeing as how they've done a 6" scale already.

plus, with the 4 inch scaled tumbler, i hate how batman enters it.. just a flap on the roof? no thank you. if they give us a 4" scale keaton batmobile, i really hope it opens properly.. if they can do it on a matchbox scaled batmobile, they better do it for a 4" scale.

Wow a Reeves figure that has a head sculpt THAT accurate in a small scale? Color me impressed. Ditto for Devito Batman, I heard license approval from him was difficult to obtain, glad he gave it!

Give us a Batwing, 89 and Returns Batmobile and Batcave Mattel. I really hope they go all out on this line like they with their DC Imaginext lines.

The figures look good. Not sure who all I'll get, but there's at least a couple of them that'll find a home in my collection. I even like the looks of the new 6" figures on display. I've never been a big fan of him, but even Bizarro is kind of tempting. Now, how about a Batzarro to go with him?

I've read that a 4" Beware the Batman figure was supposedly on display too. Anyone know anything about it? I'm kinda hoping that will be it's own line, but I wouldn't be surprised if the third series of this line was BtB figures.

I think it's safe to assume that the mask-less Batman is the sixth figure. Mattel shouldn't have any issue using Nicholson's likeness. He's been made into a what, 1/6th scale figure? I can't imagine Mattel not being able to get in on the same licensing.

I really don't think they would have unless they did a full on 89 line.
it will take up half the shelf space and be like half the price which should make it a much easier sell.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the 89 Batmobile, Batwing and possibly even the Arkham Batmobile if these do well.
at this scale the possibilities are endless. they could even do deluxe versions with props like the batcomputer or suit vault/case. or the crazy long shots of playsets.

I agree on the hood. better be a two seater also.

I know Mattel has been awful at 3.75 in the past but this just seems way beyond those in every way.

That was the old Mattel. I forget the number that was said when the line was revealed, but these most certainly have more than five points of articulation. Mattel is finally doing well articulated 4" DC figures, while Hasbro is starting to turn back to less articulation.

Speak for yourself. I LOVE this. A 4" superman of good quality has NEVER been made. The addition of the Reeve head just sweetens the deal.

Think of how many 6" superman figures there have been. Do you know how many 3 3/4-4 inch there have been? 4:
Poket Heores 1975
Microman 2005 (30 years!) Too atriculated. Too stylized.
Man ofsteel 2013. 5 poa, terrible likeness, undersized
Injustice. 2013. Small fragile and ugly.

Are 6" collectors really that greedy? It's been almost 40 years since there was a superman figure in the 1/18 scale with an effort done using the current manufacturing tech. Not since Mego did it before the majoriry of people here were born.

The idea that there is no market for these is ridiculous.I think this is a market thathas been untapped for WAY to long.

Side note, I finished my CR Supes custom using the shrunk hot toys head from glassman 2 daye ago.

I am at least happy they are making the last DC 6 inch figures. Everyone has wanted black shirt Superboy forever and I needed Ice for the JL of the 90's. I am working on a Blue jacket Guy and a Bloodwynd myself. I like that they are doing Containment Doomsday as a SDCC, but I really hope they get the Unleashed version made also somehow. I always liked the 90's hook hand Aquaman but Damian can kiss my ass, I never liked him or him being Robin and I am glad he is dead.

I am sooooooo disappointed that we're getting the containment suit Doomsday. That made me say some naughty words. Lame. I'm happy about Superboy and Ice. I hope that the Batman Beyond Heads will fit with DCUC Body.

It's great that Aquaman, Ice, Superboy, and Damian are getting released, but I really would have preferred Unleashed Doomsday.

Especially since to me the unsurety of not getting Unleashed Doomsday versus the Containment Suit Doomsday is what caused a lot of people not to sub, and ultimately causing the sub to fail.

I'm just glad that doomsday became a SDCC exclusive instead of a subscriber bonus. That way I'll actually get a chance to own it.

Sad to see the DC comic line die. I just hate how mattel makes it look like they did nothing wrong with the line.

The more I look at the Multiverse pics, the more I wonder if figures like Reeve Superman will have more articulation added before production. I think this is one of those lines where I might be up for either MOC or loose collecting, so in the end maybe I'll leave the lesser articulated toys in the packages and open the others for display?

Man, Mattel hit me with such a huge nostalgia bomb with this movie wave...

Aww, DUDE. He was my favorite comic book character, to the point that I stopped buying monthly Batman comics (well, except for Batman/Superman now) after they killed him off. That arrogant little prick was badass.
