Doesn't matter when you pre-order it you won't see it till 5-10 months. Hasbro gets Marvel out on time but Star Wars takes forever.
Just look at the Book of Boba Fett figure fiasco. Still waiting for my Fett by the way. Hope June 30th is the day that's the date from Best Buy Last edited by ThorOdinson123; 06-16-2022 at 02:57 PM.. |

Never in the films obviously. The films, TV shows, and cartoons are the only canon that counts. Anything in novels and comics doesn't really count as canon, especially if it was written in some EU literature years ago before Disney bought LFL. EU lit can be retconned whenever Disney feels like it. This is the first I've ever heard of Palpatine creating Vader's suit to torture him. That sounds pretty ridiculous to me and it certainly was never even hinted at in the OT films.

Even when Lucas did the prequels he overwrote what existing EU books had declared the clone wars to be.

Yup... It always amuses me when some obsessive fan gets all worked up over something new in the films or TV shows that contradicts what was written in some novel or comic 10-20 years ago. Who cares?? The EU has never counted and never will. It's officially licensed fan fiction basically and can be written off at Disney/LFL's discretion whenever they like. Enjoy it for it's entertainment value, but don't ever take it too seriously or get upset when something new ignores it. Last edited by ShabbyBlue; 06-16-2022 at 02:56 PM.. |

Man why is it always extremely difficult to order these exclusives, Walmart sucks and why don't they mass produce these so people aren't having to super-try hard ordering these things

I simply wondered where CelticMutt got his info. I've never heard of Vader's suit being created to torture him OR Pappa Palps telling him to upgrade at will. Granted I have never read any of the novels or comics. I'm not that level of a SW fan. Maybe it came from his upcoming novella entitled, "Star Wars: Just Makin Shit Up"

Last time I read a novel it was the abruptness of the situation and sloppy work of the medical droids that made the suit what it is. Which is understandable I guess, it’s not like they had a perfectly fitting survival apparatus just lying around, probably started making something as soon as the Emperor took off with the injured Vader from Mustafar.
And the suit-up scene from the Kenobi series also shows connection ports all over his body, so it's not just a suit but also implants within his body to make it all come together. A system like that seems hard to improve, it's not like you can just safely cut open your body again and do it all from scratch. Maybe a miracle that the suit actually works in the first place. Yeah yeah, it's Star Wars, science-fiction and all; surely they can find a better way. But this is also Star Wars, in a sense that it is weirdly realistic at times, and that kind of makes it unique. For Vader my idea is basically that they had to create a suit for him to survive in from scratch within hours, and after it was done it was done. Like Frankenstein’s monster, he's stuck the way it is now, as the primary goal was to make it work. They had a dying person to work with after all, time was of the essence. And less than the Emperor forcing him to stay this way, another aspect is probably Vader guilt-tripping himself. He got into this mess, and is too proud to make it a more comfortable one. He would rather "master" the situation instead of feeling that he’s weak for making the suit better. |

It could be that the suit itself is in a makeshift, struggling state and that his attachment to the dark side is what makes it work. This perspective would help explain why he dies in RotJ when he lets go of his hate, because the suit doesn't appear to take that much damage. Just an interpretation that I've thought of before.

Good job, Hasbro, another troop builder nested into a multi-pack with 2 other individual characters. Hasbro hate Purge Troopers, they just don't want anyone to buy any!

Lowered expectations? Or people just giving up army buidling? So sure, make it part of a set with 2 characters. And a year from now, are people going ga-ga for a random named Jawa, as opposed to the host of more interesting one-off aliens yet unmade? |

With how bad these Star Wars shows are it sure has been easy to save money. I care for these characters about as much as Disney does.

Yet, people are praising this set. Over $16 a figure, too. Shouldn't multipacks be a bargain? Hasbro gets people to buy 3 figures at once, they may or may not all want.

Favreau Viszla listing for $200+ on Ebay is just greed. Hell with it.

The $13.99 price for VC figures was already absurd, tacking on an extra $10 for a 3-pack is insane. Multipacks used to generally increase the value for the customer.

Well, TVC exclusives have been $16 recently (see the recent ARC Troopers exclusives). Add $3 for the fancy box to put them all together.
I'm not defending it. I've stopped collecting TVC precisely for that reason, the price is crazy. I'm just saying the price is "on track". |
