With Ant Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as the Thor, Cap, and Iron Man sequels getting coverage of some sort at SDCC what is everyone looking forward to as far as the toylines go? Since Gamora was shown on the Guardians concept art, I would assume we will get her figure as well as a better Groot. I'm hoping for Cosmo and some of the other guardians as well. The possibilities are quite varied if one looks at what may be included in the comic series for these figure lines. So what are you all hoping for?

I'd like a few of the major comic versions from the movies. I've toyed with the idea of a Marvel Movie Universe shelf, but never really bothered. I doubt we're ever going to get the likes of Wolverine Origins or Iron Man 2 again. I'd say we get more figures like the Thor and Avengers lines. Almost entirely movie figures and maybe two or three comic versions.

I'd like some good comic series. A comic series Ant man with small counterpart. And a comic series Quasar, even if he isn't in the movie.

I would love a comic series Quasar and some of the old school Guardians like Major Victory and Nikki.

Why do we doubt GoTG will get a toyline?

I would be inclined to agree with you. Even with the recent movie lines there have been a few gems that us older collectors are still inclined to grab. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they release. I'm sure there will be some letdowns, but there are bound to be some great figures that will be worthy of our collections.

I realize this would be a long shot but I would love to see a Giant Man figure from the Ant Man movie that fits with the MU stuff.

I hope not. As many left over IM figures there are populating my local TRU, I still smile at that line for all of the comic villains it gave us. I'm still bummed that the Thor line didn't offer any comic figures. The Frost Giant is the only one I own.

Absolutely! I picked up the Avengers Skrull figure, opened him up and immediately felt disappointed. In the articulation and colors. Mostly the articulation.

If Ant-Man has a toyline, and offers a legends sized Giant Man/Goliath/ Yellowjacket, then holy fuck. Thing is, what about villians. Im not even knowledgeable if he has a rogues gallery.

Variety and better case pack outs. I'd like the first wave of Thor 2 to have less than 5 different Thors. And I'd like most of the supporting characters to be out by wave 2 - the wave 3 of Thor was so poorly distributed in my area due to the first 2 waves of a dozen different Thors on the pegs that I never saw the Warriors Three in store. Forget Siff. Unless those characters get re-released for Thor 2 I've given up on them entirely.

I'd also very much like to see a line for the X-Men: First Class sequel.

And while I would like the articulation to improve from the cut back stuff we got for the Avengers, I really want them to keep the hip articulation of most of the figures because I HATED the 45 degree angle hips. Bring back ankles, wrists, and the mid torso joint, but for the love of god keep the 90 degree hips!

He created Ultron... so that could be a set up villain for Avengers 2.

I'm honestly not sure how many of these other than Ironman 3 we might see toylines for.

IM3 and Avengers iirc were the last ones on the previous marvel movie figure contract. Which also didn't have X-Men 4 in the listing but did have Spidey 4 which counted for amazing spider-man. (Wolverine was listed, X-Men 4 wasn't, Ghost Rider 2 wasn't, no clue on Wolverine 2, don't think it was listed either. IIRC, the list was IM2, Spider-man 4, Cap, thor, Avengers, IM3, wolverine, ghost rider 1, and that's all I can recall. That's not to say they couldn't get them though.)

Hopefully though, like I've said before, they find a way to umbrella them well into movie lines.

So I hope we get at least the main attraction characters and their opposing sides. Ant-man I guess they could skip for now since he'd fit into an Avengers 2 line, as would the thor figures, and cap figures.

GOTG would be rocking as a line though.
Legends or BAF groot. Movie stylized versions of the GOTG full team. Comic series to round out marvel cosmic like Dire Wraiths, Rom the space knight(you know you want to hasbro), comic versions of characters that don't have MU figures. Maybe even Talon and Razor or other Raptor Amulet characters. Hopefully a movie Thanos.

Ant-Man I wouldn't expect much on Pym if what I'm hearing is correct.
It's going to be very Scott Lang oriented with him possibly stealing the suit from Pym. So it seems to be leaning much more irredeemable ant-man than classic Pym and Wasp. Hopefully there will be a lot of Cameos though for Janet, Hank, and even Ultron in his lab that can be built on for Avengers 2 with giant man and her or Ultron as a bad guy. Thanos this early on with the avengers doesn't seem that likely, though it depends on how he's handled in GotG which very well could bleed over.

I'd just assume they'd save Thanos for Avengers 3 personally, but with how fast they seem to be team building with these movies, who knows. Winter Soldier, Falcon, Ant-Man, maybe Valkyrie with Thor, maybe War Machine depending on how IM3 plays out, maybe giant man and wasp and that's not even counting any other side expanding they might do like Mockingbird(depending on her tv show, though Hasbro should really get that figure prepped for when her show does start) and more.
