OK, I've been wanting to customize my Marvel Legends Red Onslaught wave Taskmaster for a while. Nothing major, just adding in a good helping of orange to really make it feel more like Taskmaster.

I want to paint the insides of the elbows, the arrow/chevron shape on the top of the chest, and the web gear/belt/etc. (aside from the guns and belt buckle) orange (as shown in the picture).

(If you need clearer pictures of what those areas I want to paint look like, especially the arrow/chevron on top of the chest, there are plenty of pictures on Google that you can reach by searching "marvel legends taskmaster".)

However, I have one question that doesn't seem easy to find an answer to: what paints and techniques do I use to paint over paint applications already on the figure? I'll probably remove the paint in the elbow joints before I paint there, and the web gear and belt don't really have paint on them, aside from the belt buckle and guns, so it probably won't be that hard, even for a beginner. But for the shape on the upper torso, I don't want to remove any of the paint that's already there. It's white with a silver line on the bottom, and I just want to leave the silver, and a sliver of the white roughly as thin as the silver line, and paint all the white above that orange. What exactly should I do? How should I do it? What paints should I use? Should I just remove the white except for what I want to keep first, and paint the newly-unpainted area like normal? And even if I do that, what types of paint and techniques would you recommend for painting a modern Marvel Legends figure? Thanks.

(PS: you can PM me, or discuss it here; I'm fine with either.)

You have use a heat gun or boil water a few minutes to soften up the plastic parts that have pegs in them. Then disassemble the entire fig & wash it hot soapy water & use a toothbrush to scrub off all the paint oil off the fig. Then dry it & prime entire figure either white/black/grey with Priming spray. Id invest in Citadel paints as those are the best IMO & what I mostly use on my customs. You may also have to sand down certain areas/joints to avoid paint rub.
