I thought I'd post a thread to garner some interest from all you great peeps
![]() What are your favorite toylines that you enjoy making customs from and why? I'm a huge Transformer fan, and I have been making Alternators/Binal Tech customs for many years now. I also have a few other Transformers customs planned from the Transformers Universe line. I also enjoy the occasional custom from the M.A.S.K. toyline since it is in scale with the Alt/BT line. |

I'm a Classics & Animated guy. Some Alts in the mix as well.
I'm more or less centered around Animated at the moment turning them into Beast Wars: Animated

The Alt line: Because I'm a car guy a heart, and I like the realism that goes with the line
The Animated line: Because of its nature, it kinda gives a customizer "free range"...in other words, I'm not held back by the realism of what I like about the Alt line.... Weird huh?

Artwork is much about solving problems. With my Alt/BT customs, I'm always asking, "how do I do X given the parameters of Y (where Y = 1:24 scale realism)?" All genres of artwork have this quality to some extent because much of how we answer the questions depends on how well the solution (e.g., the artwork produced) solves these problems. ![]() |

Hey gang! I of course love to bash Transformers, the possibilities are seemingly endless. As you guys pointed out, the range of TF lines allows for any type of creativity, TFs may be the most versatile kitbash line!
I also like making custom Marvel Heroes. I am in the middle of making a G.I. Joe Sigma Six Strike Duke into a Sigma Six Iron Man, complete with Led repulsors, thrusters, and eyes! I also made an Arc reactor for a kid who works at Radio Shack, to use for his costume this last Halloween. I am currently building a swamp diorama for a Manthing figure I want do, and researching materials for some Watchmen customs! So now ya know why I take so long on my TF bashes! ![]() |

For me, it's mostly Joe, and always 3 3/4. To my mind, everything should be 1/18th scale, as it balances playability, detail, price point, playsets, and sculpts just about perfectly.
I do occasionally dabble outside Joe with COPS, and a few other oddball things that work at that size. I'm even almost finished with a Joe scale ROM: Spaceknight.
