And of course it's too late to get into Mattel's 1966 Batman line.

eh ya never know. Mattel may have made a sculpt in hopes this deal would go through. though with the quality of the Mattel figures, (crap), i won't lose sleep if we don't get a Mattel figure. now Hot Toys to go with my pre-ordered Batman & Robin....oh yeah!!

I would be excited about this, but the only way I see Mattel making a figure of her now is as some sort of exclusive. Most likely released only on MattyCollector... I can't imagine they would have, but our only hope for a retail release of her from Mattel is if they've already sculpted and molded her. Again, I severely doubt they went through the trouble to do that for a figure they might not have been able to sell.

That said, I still haven't seen a single one of those figures at retail, so even if they did release her, it's not like I would be able to find her.

I'm curious, does this just cover her likeness as Batgirl? or could this potentially include her likeness as Marta?

Just Batgirl/Barbara Gordon. Star Trek is owned by CBS Corp. and the licensing deal she made was only with WB.

That sucks, but oh well... While it would be nice, even if she did sign over her likeness as Marta, I'm not sure any company would really do anything with it. Maybe Diamond Select... and that's a big maybe.
