Fucking BUMMER. I don't collect a lot of 1/6 scale figures, but I totally would have gotten this one. The preview version looked so sweet.

Hope the 7" figures still come out, but yeah, it's not looking good.

I honestly don't hold out much hope for the 7" versions of either The Thing or American Werewolf.

Ah, I didn't know that PCS was Sota...that explains a lot. Seems like they still haven't learned how to run a damn company or produce product.

I think those are still up for pre-order, at least everywhere I was able to find.

Guys, don't worry. The 7" Thing and American Werewolf figures are still happening. Jerry from PCS posts on a couple boards where he has confirmed this:

Statue Forum - View Single Post - The official ask Popcultureshock thread

and on this board he posts as Anunakki, where he mentions they're waiting to offer pre-orders until product is closer to ready for release around Halloween:

I'm pre-ordering all these the second they go up. Any serious Horror/Sci-Fi fan should have these in their collection.

The plan is to only offer them for pre-order once they are close to final production on them.
That's a bad sign, in my opinion. That says to me that they're NOT fully confident that the figures are going into production, since pretty much every company selling anything on Earth loves getting pre-orders in ASAP.

That, and Sota's previous track record, fails to fill me with hope. But I guess we'll see.

I was just digging around on their site, found no mentions of the 7" Re-Animator figure. Further searching online I didn't see any new release info...my guess is we may never see them, which is a bummer. Re-Animator might be just too cult/niche for the investment, since multiple companies have prototyped figures and not released them.

I did get Amoktime's Herbert West 3.75" retro figure. He's okay. Their 3.75" Nate from Creepshow is great though.

Actually, I live local to Amok Time's Hicksville, NY store and am in there usually once a week, and every so often we talk about the status of the Re-Animator figure...the last time was actually last week. I assumed with the lack of updates and the recent release of their retro figure, that the 7-inch figure was pretty much cancelled at this point.

Previously they had run into issues with Jeffrey Combs' agent, who was making all sorts of outlandish demands (especially considering Re-Animator's limited cult appeal) and really slowing the process to a crawl. I believe there may have been some issues with the Chinese manufacturer, as well.

Shockingly, the project isn't dead yet...they're giving it one final go, and I recall them saying that they're doing some re-designing on the figure, changing/adding articulation, etc. They stressed that this is probably the last chance for it to come to market, but that it's not 100% dead yet.

They're in tooling right now. Jerry says he just doesn't want people to have to wait more than a couple months once they're ordered.

Awesome! I love the monstarz series and have been waiting for years for re-animator figures in 7" scale. Would you please let amoktime know ther are fans waiting for these and to keep fighting....we will buy them.

Side note, thank god for this site,I get info here I can't find anywhere else...from fans and the site itself. Thanks again for the info.

Honestly, I'm not nearly as jazzed about the 7" scale MacReady as I was about the 12" one. The sculpt on the 7" one is just okay, and it's sorely lacking in articulation. It's just a statue from the waist down.

Yeah, sounds like a total BS statement to me. Yet another reason this guy's word doesn't really make me feel confident that we're ever seeing Thing figures at any scale.

Well, I hope you're right, as I would still like the MacReady figure and my girlfriend would love those American Werewolf figures.

Hey, if you ever have any contact with this Jerry character, could you pass along my desire to see leg articulation in these figures? That'd be keen.

No problem, buddy. And as for their attempts to make the 7" Herbert West figure, you don't have to worry...Amok Time's owner is a huge fan of the Re-Animator movies (in addition to the retro figure, Amok Time also released a statue of the finger creature from Bride of Re-Animator, and if you ever visit the store in NY you'll find a prop replica of Dr. Hill's severed head in a tray in one of the display cases) and he's been sinking a lot of time and money over the course of several years into trying to make this happen. If the figure doesn't get made, it won't be because he didn't try his ass off.

If I hear anything new, I'll let you know.

I don't know the guy at all, I was just directed to one of the forums as a place he was something of a regular when the initial news of these figures came out and I wanted to know more. The other forum I found on my own. He was asked about leg articulation in one of the most recent posts here, though I'm not sure his answer is precisely what you're going to want to hear:

Can't view that forum without registering, which isn't happening. But I assume the figures are remaining statues from the waist down (provided they actually ARE ever released). Bummer.
