Resaurus and Sota SF figures, in their time, were about $10-12 retail. $19-25 per figure would've been fucking scandalous in like 2005.

Are those turtles the comic style 5 inch versions? Rather not have 5 inch SF characters.

Aye, and I stand by what I said, this new figure might not be perfect but it looks plenty much like the Super SF2 intro Ryu and looks far better than the majority of those previous Ryu's, some of which just look horrendous (not just the head but the whole body too). So aye, I've certainly put that Ryu pack down on my want list. Probably get Chunners too. Might ebay the Turtles or not. And I'm keen to see what the other SF figures will look like too.

I remember companies coming out back then with 1/6 scale statues and wanting like $50/$60 bucks for some and that was soooo expensive.

Man do times change.

If the gloves were brown or maroon like it would have been straight SF2.
Now Ryu collectors need a 6-inch base on SF alpha/zero with white headband.

So it's Xmen vs SF Ryu again

I've always been a smidge confused as to Ryu's hair colour. In SF2 it's dark brown, in SF3 and later it's black, but in SF1 and Alpha it's red. Dark brown and black make more sense to me than red since he's supposed to be japanese and red hair ain't all that common to japanese people unless they dye their hair and Ryu doesn't seem to be the sort of bloke who does a lot of hair-dying.

Bizarrely, after some googling, I see it's KEN that's said to be dying his hair to keep it blonde and that Ken is actually only 1/4 American, having a Japanese father and American-Japanese mother and some versions have him born in Japan. But has always represented the US in the games and other media.

And all this time I'd thought the Poison stuff was the most unnecessarily complicated thing with Street Fighter characters. lol.

I like the Street Fighter figures, but the look of the figures for the Ninja Turtles themselves are disappointing. That said, I'm curious to see if Playmates would mix-and-match with heroes fighting villains and villains fighting villains if they kept this concept going. I'm hoping if there's a second wave of two-packs, it could look something like this:

- Splinter versus Dhalsim
- Karai versus Cammy
- Casey Jones versus Vega
- Bebop versus Blanka
- Rocksteady versus Sagat
- Shredder versus M. Bison

I hope we see pictures soon of the Raphael versus Guile and Donatello versus Ken Masters two-packs.
