Hey guys I have a situational problem for you. My girlfriend does not mind the comics and toys but hates when I'm on the computer looking for them and researching aka shooting the sh*t with you guys. She's a big gammer and now any time I use the computer she starts playing a game. This would be fine and all but I like to watch tv while I surf and I hate watching her play. She has to complete everything and searches every corner of game play. It basically make me dizzy to watch her play a game.

What can I do to remidy this? I just want to be able to use the computer with out being hassled about it. Like last night she wanted to watch that owel movie which I had no interest in so I was on the computer while I watched it with her. She did not like that. lol

She brought up moving some of the gaming systems to another room or gettign a hand held device. It all started when she broke her I pod touch which she used all the time. LMK what you guys think. Thanks.

Buy another T.V. lol na just kidding. I say let her do what she needs to do. If SHE is willing to put up with your hobbies/pastime/ or what have you. Let her do her. And then Just spend a Full day with each other just so no one feels like they are being ignored.

Yep, buy another TV or let her be since shes cool with your hobbies. Anyway, using the computer AND hogging the TV is kinda silly. I always let my wife watch whatever she watches while im on the computer as its fair to her, whether its some junk reality TV or not.

I agree. I mean. theres other things you can do also. listen to music, get a ipad or nintendo 3ds and watch netflix on your desktop while you surf, or hell, watch netflix in another browser.
She puts up with your stuff so should be able to put up with hers.

I think this webcomic sums up our feelings on our gamer girlfriends pretty well.

I have spent just about every waking/sleeping hour with her for the past year. She doesn't drive so I have a captive audience.

She is quite good at games. She kicked ass on Portal 2. She is just too thorough when it comes to finding every little thing so watching her play is horrible.

Everybody seems to be in agreement on this. We have plenty of Tv's I just don't want her moving the PS3 out of the living room. Now I feel like a jerk for hogging the computer and the Tv. I'm an only child so some things escape me when it comes to sharing. Thanks for the advice.

Guys, you're missing the point... She doesn't need a new TV or a more attentive boyfriend, she needs a new iPod Touch. The problems started when it broke. Get her a new one. Problem solved.

I offered to get her one $300 bucks and I'm done. Prob solved you would think. I did just get her a job at my work so she can afford it. I def need to occupy her so I can get some computer time w/o her noticing too much. Am I really an ass for using the computer and the Tv? There both mine lol. I have such an only child mentality.

lol. This is too funny. But seriously, as others have said, you're incredibly lucky that she's cool with your hobbies and interests. You need to compromise a little dude. So she wants to play video games while you're on the computer talking about toys, no biggie. I say let the lady play. It's always going to be a give and take.

Its your TV and your computer, so she can go F herself if she doesn't like it!

She's lucky you got her a job and let her hang around you and stuff!

Sheesh, what's her problem?

Just kidding!

I think you should get a second PS3 for the bedroom.

You gotta meet her in the middle dude. If your on the PC, let her have the TV, you can't really "watch" it anyway. I used to have a program playing in the background while I surf too, then I realized that was a little excessive. You have your internet time, she has her gaming time and then everyone is happy. Listen to your iPod or open another window while you are on the boards if you need you audible sense stimulated. When you are done with us nerds, go watch TV with your lady together. "Alone" time is fulfilled as well as quality time.
