They are actually doing Firefly Legacy 6" figures. The sculpts haven't been approved yet, which is why we haven't seen them, but they announced them a long time ago and insist they are still coming.

I was actually coming in here just to ask if their Firefly figures were still on the way. It's nice to know that they're still in the works. I just recently started watching Firefly, and I'm absolutely loving it.

As for The Fantastic Mr. Fox, I'm not a fan of the movie, so these don't interest me, but I remember a lot of people really liking it. I'm not sure how well these will sell, but it's cool to see Funko do figures that no other companie would really consider.

Makes me hopefull that they might be able to turn more of those ReAction licenses into Legacy ones. I don't know if they could get the likenesses of the Scream cast, but if nothing else, a Legacy Ghostface would be cool.

I thought the movie was actually really cool. I don't really need figures for them though. I will give them a look if I seem em in person, but that is about it.

I like all of Wes Anderson's films, but Fantastic Mr. Fox isn't what I'd call marketable or popular. Even when this movie was new it wasn't what everyone was talking about and I doubt since its release there has been some kind of demand for figures. I get why Funko does Game of Thrones (that's become its own cultural phenomenon), why they're about to release Magic: the Gathering figures (#1 TCG and the oldest, plus I'm a long time player so I'm probably going to get at least one of those), and why they plan on doing Firefly (cult-following). Why then did they decide that a 2009 Wes Anderson film was a marketable product?

NECA is about to make a Mego style Ghostface from Scream, that'd be better than a Funko legacy figure. I have two GoT legacy figures, and while neither is bad, NECA puts in much more fine details than Funko especially for faces (so I guess that doesn't really hurt Funko's chances with Ghostface, but NECA is about to make one anyway).

the movie was based on an extremely popular children's book, and the movie is hawesome.

not every toy made is going to be for everyone. thank the good graces, diversity!

I did not know about that, I'll have to look into it, thank you. That said, Mego works for Ghostface, but I wouldn't really be interested in Mego versions of the rest of the cast. If we ever get figures of them, I would prefer something like Funko's Legacy line or NECA's normal 7" figures.

While I'm not interested in these figures, I do appreciate that Funko is willing to put out a very diverse selection. Same can be said of their ReAction line of figures. Makes me wonder what all they might do in the future.

I highly doubt we'll see any toys from Scream other than Ghostface. For the same reason we don't get Nancy from A Nightmare on Elm Street or the human/flesh-bags waiting to be murdered by any iconic horror film character/monster. The human characters are very rarely iconic and often replaced in the sequels, Ripley from Alien is kind of the exception. Even then, the Mego NECA Ghostface would look fine with regular* figures, just a tad taller than it should be (regular* is ~7", Mego comes at ~8").

*regular referring to the 7" scale used by NECA as their base human male size.

Fantastic sculpt & the packaging looks great. It'll be the price that decides it for me.

Probably $20ish like every Funko legacy figure.

This may initially sound crazy, but I'm totally cool with Funko taking their time with the Firefly figures!
Don't get me wrong, I am ridiculously excited about those figures, but after the horrible QC of the Game of Thrones line, Funko needs to work out all the kinks in their Legacy line.

I'm fine with the Magic figures and this Mr. Fox figure serving as guinea pigs for Funko's supposed new QC practices. I want those Firefly figures to be as close to perfect as possible, or at least as close to perfect as Funko is capable of, lol.
After having to wait nearly a decade after missing those elusive Firefly figures from Diamond, an extra few months won't hurt me, as long as the figures turn out really well.

I have a friend that flipped out when I told him they were doing Fantastic Mr Fox figures. It's one of his favorite movies. He seemed like he could get some of his friends on board so I told him I'd order a case if he could get preorders for half of them. He hasn't had any luck but I think that's because Funko dragged their feet from, what, January or February, until this week with any kind of pictures.

Myself, I echo the concerns posted here. It's a really obscure license to come out of practically nowhere. On the other hand, Game of Thrones is supposed to be super popular and I can't even give those toys away so who really knows. I hope those Firefly figures materialize, though, and don't suck as bad as what NECA or whoever produced back when Serenity was in theatres.

Only the first distribution of the GoT legacy figures was apparently really bad, the newer ones that say legacy on the side are better made than the originals which just read Funko on the side. I can't say for 100%, but both I have are great in terms of being sturdy, but not to the point of breaking in resistance of pose.

Yeah, it's unlikely that the other characters will ever get made into figures, but one can hope. Ghostface is definitely iconic, but I feel like some of the rest of the cast is too. At the very least Sydney should be, if not Gail and Dewey too.

Size-wise he would work, but it's the Mego styling that would make it stand out awkwardly to me. It's something I would likely display on it's own, or with other Megos.

CAN NOT WAIT to get all of these! It's such a hoot to see figures for a Wes Anderson movie. Can we get a Steve Zissou next?

I will make one nitpick and say I wish Ash came with an 'unmasked' head since that's how he was in most of the film, but whatever.
