Each thread in this forum can have a "prefix" chosen before it is posted. This is to help sort them for people looking only for specific things (new/vintage/etc).

We haven't entered any for Lego to start off with, so if you would like to list what you think are good break downs for how you view and collect, just post them here.

We will look it over and make it available if we and the fans think it's necessary.

Thanks!

I think Lego can be broadly broken down into categories depending on the sub-line:

* City/Town
* Creator (including the older Basic/Freestyle sets)
* Harry Potter
* Other Licensed Lines (including defunct stuff like Spider-man, Speed Racer, etc)
* Space (including the older lines and new arrivals like Mars Mission)
* Star Wars
* Technic (including Mindstorms)

That should cover everything in terms of a short, simple list.

Nice, thanks much. Its one area I'm not that familiar with, so that helps.

Love this list. As a big Bionicle fan, I think Bionicle should have a section to itself. On another site, I saw Bionicle being included with Technic and Mindstorms, which despite having the same parts, Bionicle has much more frequent updates than those themes and a ongoing storyline.

Hey guys, I've got my "Lego Book Museum Vol.1" open here, and let's add few more lines?

*Auqazone (which doesn't fit in space or city/town)
*Sports (could be added to the city/town very easily)
*Trains (these could also be in city/town but are popular enough to stand alone)
*Castles (castles, knights, horses, drawbridges, ghosts! who could ask for more!)
*Pirates (arrrrrrr!!!! we can combine this with Castles I think... arrrrrrr......)
*RealWorldLego - Art, Displays, Websites (maybe for places like Lego Land or people who do art/statues with legos - and there are a lot)
*I agree that Bionicle should have its own section, it just doesn't fit anywhere else.
*Duplo, Kids Blocks (we should not forget the oversize kids blocks even if that tag just gets dusty, it'll be there)

I like that my first post here is about Lego.. fitting as it was my first toy!

Ooh, completely forgot about Castle & Bionicle! While technically part of Technic (), I'd agree that Bionicle is popular enough to warrant it's own category. Not sure about Pirates, maybe there could be a universal category for 'defunct' lines? I was trying to avoid making the list too long...

got to leave castle and pirates seperate.

In the world of legos alot of people only collect certain lines, so combining priates and castes might not be good.
in 2009 they are also creating power miners lego series.
Lego Agents (a spy series) was also missed as was lego racers.

We should have a tag for Customs here. Of all toys, Lego is the ultimate do it yourself toy. If we have any threads for customs in other lines, there must be one here for people to show off things they have made!

I thought about Lego Racers, but it's really part of City/Town in my mind. When I was looking through the anthology I have, it's really crazy how many sub themes there were. But some of them were very brief, and wouldn't do to have whole sections devoted to them.

There are a lot of different sections you could use, but frankly a lot of them seem to be redundant or too similar, i.e. Rock Raiders and Power Miners. There should at least be:
Star Wars
Bionicle
Creator
City
Racers and
Mindstorms

Those are some of the lines that are always going, and not showing up and dissapearing every year or "season" So I don't know if you want a nearly infinate set of prefix's or a more refined set.
