Oh boy. I'm kind of horrified that I want this set as much as I do. As is, I'd rather not spend $250.00 - $300.00 with shipping. Maybe I'll cool off by the 21st...

No kidding. I almost sprang for the SDCC set several times just for that vintage headsculpt. The one we're getting at mass retail is really disappointing.

$200 is too steep for me, even if I was able to attend Power Con. As much as I'd love to have the set, I'll have to settle for the retail releases. Maybe at some point they will release individual ones with these colors and head sculpts.

I dig the She-Ra figure also. I wonder if she will be available with the rest this fall. I doubt it, but still.

The joys of paying twice retail or more for convention exclusives.
Or how nerds ruined toy collecting for themselves.

It's more on the latter part. Also not interested on spending $250+ for these in the first place.

Yeah, after calculating the shipping cost, I fear these are out of my reach as well. Like many adults, I'm sure I could buy it and worry about how to pay for it later, but I'm too old to put myself through that kind of stress anymore. They're just toys in the end. Awesome toys, but. Yeah.

The power con site and BBTS have these up now. I just preordered. The scale looks like vintage scale so 5 inch or so.

I’m no fan of the origins line. But this set is just such a special historical motu item. From the sounds of it, Mattel is going to make the packaging phenomenal. I also could not pass on she-ra. I just hope the actual origins line catches me in person, because so far, it hasn’t.

I also just received “The art of He-man and the Masters of the Universe” book on amazon. What a great read and filled high such history and visual Beauty. I also recommend the toys that made use he-man episode on Netflix and “ The Power of Grayskull” documentary on Netflix. Just amazing how he owe most boys toys action figures to this line of toys.

Power of Grayskull was really a fun watch.

Did the Toy Masters documentary ever come out? I remember seeing a trailer for it a while ago.

Yeah, that art book is great. So much awesome artwork was produced for MOTU. It really set the imagination on fire. I also highly recommend the Power and Honor Foundation catalog. It's full of rare artwork and sketches. Very early prototype stuff and tons of things that never got released. It's really pricey now, but if you're a diehard MOTU fan it's really a must-have.

Regarding the origins line, I think I'm in the same boat as you. So far, there has just been a little something off about them. But I really want to love them. This set is really tempting, though.

Probably not. Power Con didn't announce a virtual con, so there's no coordinated effort for those dates.

And just 2 days later they announced a virtual con for next weekend. So look for coverage of that on the 8th and 9th.
