Yeah, I'd probably do the same for the same reasons. It would be too goofy to pass up.

One thing I do not get is if Mattel claims it costs So much for figures and they cannot justify the DC Club then why is money being spent on other figures for the other being made couldn't that money be spent on producing the DC figures.
Each toy line has its own budget. Just because they may use the same IP does not necessarily mean they all share the same money pool. DCUC didn't make enough profit to keep it at retail and it didn't make enough pre-sales to keep it going as a subscription line anymore. End of story.

actually Mattel is saving me money. I was only going to NYCC to see what DC stuff they were gonna do. Because the line failed cancelled my plans to attend and listen to a load of 4H/Matty BS.. I get that part but Mattel has to explain that if figures sell out why they still cannot produce.

Has there been talk about movie He-man (Val Kilmer)

Because the extras they make for Day-Of-Sale are most likely based on if (and by how much) they go over their stated goal. "Customer Service" figures should already be factored into the goal as part of the overall budget required to produce that year's figures.

I'm curious if some of the figures we've seen for the first time at Powercon are because of MOTUC exceeding their goal(s) with CE.

(Hey, look at that. Back on topic!)

I doubt it since now they can focus on the one line those fans will get everything. They'll just cut off the other people like we never exsisted like they did with WWE, Lion Force, and so on. Did they open the MOTU sub yet (not that I am buying)?

Honestly for the DCUC I could live without them at retail

.
I was really stoked on the Classics TMNT line, until I finally saw Donnie and Mike at a TRU Express (my three full sized, local TRU's don't even have the skn on the shelves!!!).

The toys look HORRIBLE. The finger articulation is such that if the hands are closed, the "knuckles" look like wolverine claws. The forearms are WAY too short, and the arms and legs scale is way too small. They just look extremely disappointing. Not remotely worth the $25 asking price. I almost literally cried, I was so disappointed. Even worse, on the toys' cards, they show the prototype toys, which look amazing and NOTHING like the final release.

my bad it shows how much I pay attention to He-Man doesn't it. Giving me one of their figures would be like giving a Monkey a 2500 piece Jigsaw Puzzle yeah he might put one or two pieces together but the final results won't likely be anything good

Wow, if they dare make them this inaccurate they must surely think that we're dumb enough to pay for them. What's next? They're gonna throw in accessories that launch pizzas? That would be incredibly inaccurate to the movies and therefore blasphemy!!!!

Except that the whole point of this specific line is to produce something high quality and highly accurate.
Your sarcastic comment would be more valid if I was nitpicking the original Movie Star line.

Would you please stop implying that the fate of DCUC has anything to do with MOTUC. Two separate production teams, two separate budgets, two separate clubs. DCUC failed on its own. Let it go, already.

I feel for you. It sucks when those pretty press photos hype a toy up so much that the retail version just pales in comparison.

I've seen Raph a couple of times myself and I wasn't able to pull the trigger. But I don't think the toys look that bad per se, it's just that I've always preferred their comic look over the 90's TV show. I might still get Raph, since one only has to own one of that mold to know what all four are like and Raph's my favorite.

Anyone else weirded out by the fact that there is a grown man shown on the back of the Castle Greyskull box opening it to reveal the features inside and then folding it up for storage/transport?

Why exactly isn't there a picture of a little kid??

Every time new pictures surface of TMNT & MOTU, I'm so glad that I don't collect those lines. There's just too much awesome. Awesome always equates to going broke, lol.

I was not Implying that due to MOTU the DC Sub ended. I was saying that they can focus all attention on 1 thing now.

As for being bitter yes I am. Sorry MOTU fans but Mattel backed the MOTU sub more and it's what causes bitterness. To that end I wont post in a MOTUC Appreciation Thing. I'm just getting tired of waiting for Mattel to speak on their plans for 2014

One thing? You can't possibly be serious with that statement.

Have you seen Mattel's product list lately?

Yes I have they are all over the Map. What I meant is they can focus on one sub now it'll make it easier for them. No more trying to figure what DC fans do not want with Lackluster figures and figures they just shove out because they are Figurable over what people really want.

Honestly I do not look beyond DC I could care less what Mattel makes for anyone else since what they are making for DC next doesn't appeal to me they aren't making anything unless they say 4H and DCUC style figures will be out at NYCC Mattel is closed to me next year

I see you're a DCUC fanatic, which is cool, so I hate to say it - DCUC and figures that fit with it under different line names - for now and the foreseeable future - is dead. Done. Over.

I would focus your attention on the DCUC celebration threads, fill in gaps of your collection with figs from DCUC you missed (if any), and move on. Discussing how Mattel effed up DCUC in threads not related to them is not going to work here long term.

Just a suggestion. I know it's hard when something you've invested in for years stops being appealing, mostly due to the direction the company took with it. Happened with me and TF years ago. But it happens.

The one figure I really want is the Battle Lion. I love the 200X cartoon and I would really like to get King Grayskull's Battle Lion to set him upon, and I'm getting tried of putting Grayskull back on the shelf all the time he can't stand worth a darn

I'm a little shocked that we have a movie and classics TMNT and there's no Shredder? At least this far.

I hope they make a movie Shredder. He's much more visually interesting than cartoon Shredder.

Agreed. And I'd be happy whether they did regular or Super-Sized (or both), just as long as they make one. Maybe even do a variant of the regular version that's post-Garbage Truck.

Super Shredder aside, the only differences between TMNT 1 Shredder and TMNT 2 Shredder are in the helmet. In the first movie, the spikes on his helmet are smooth. In part 2, they're serrated. In the first movie, his helmet has a chainmail texture. In part 2, it has shingles.

I was thinking more of a battle-damaged look that could be an SDCC exclusive or something. Like what he would have looked like when Tatsu pulled him out of the truck after Casey turned it on at the end of TMNT 1.
