Toys You Would Like to See Reimagined
I wanted to start a new thread about older toys you would like to see reimagined. With the popularity of MOTUC and TMNT, is there anything you would like to see redone?
I'd love a modernized version of the Technodrome. I never had one as a kid and envious of any that did. It was super fun and a redone version to fit the TMNT CLassic figures would be awesome. |
Too bad re-imagining Thundercats didn't work out so well. Boring show and toyline.
What about Voltron? Mask? Dino Riders? |
Inhumanoids.
Would love to see them updated alongside a 10 years later series that introduces new streamlined more agile tech for a new generation taking over the mantle under the tutelage of the originals as well as more creatures new and old. Of course, make it a 3.75'' toyline compatible to MU and modern GI Joe. This will help make the big creatures tower even more so. Combine elements of Bubblegum Crisis hardsuits to the new gen, but keep the originals iconic and similar for nostalgia's sake. (Helps for in show jokes too, cause you know Auger would never quit complaining about it or comparing the tech's durability.) Rocklords done similarly as Thundercats was as an all new re-imagined line and series including a special vs Gobots(also reimagined) 90 minute special. Would pair up nicely to the originals as Gobots had the series and Rocklords had the movie. This time it'd be reversed. Centurions. Complete update and re-imagining with 3.75'' toyline alongside booster armor set enhancement packs. Silverhawks. Complete re-imagining and 3.75'' toyline. Take some design cues from the redone Darkhawk origin with the Fraternity of the Raptors stuff even. And that's about all I can think of. |
Mask in a 4 inch scale!!!

It's a shame the thundercats classics line didn't fair so well. I would have loved an updated version to the original thunder-tank. I think also that because of the lack of success of this line, it makes companies wary to produce anything for any other older toy lines, like Silver Hawks for examples.
I've been getting into Hot Toys a lot lately. Can you imagine a Hot Toys Lion-O or a Hot Toys movie version Ninja Turtle?! |

I had this thread a while back, myself. Can't remember what I said I wanted, aside from Dinoriders.
Dinoriders would revolve around scientifically accurate dinosaurs. Would also kill to see Hasbro give the TF Classics treatment to Gobots. |
Dino Riders would be amazing. Especially if they were in GI Joe scale. Man, I'd poop my pants out of joy.
|
I wish NECA would produce their Predators and/or Aliens to a 1/18 scale, or the Kenner homages ones at least. I missed the Hot Toys Snap-kits and the Microman ones.
Other than that D&D stuff as 1/18 action figures. |

Speaking of, here's my list of toy lines I'd like to see get a redux: Gobots And just like Jetty said: Classics/Generations style. Hell, I'd be happy with a sub-line, like the IDW series under the current Transformers Generations banner or the Predacons Rising subline under Beast Hunters. Call it: GOBOTRON RISING. M.A.S.K. Make it a sub-group for G.I.Joe (like Tiger Force or the Marauders). V.E.N.O.M. is already kind of snake-themed, so why not tie it into Python Patrol or make them a part of Extensive Enterprises (for the legit business end). And the vehicles should be pretty easy to slot in (even if the transforming gimmick is taken out or reworked for a Joe/Cobra environment). Silverhawks While I'd have loved for it to be done in the same style as the recent T-Cats redux, that ship seemed to have sailed. So for now, I'd like a complete reboot. I don't care what scale, as both have their pros and cons. Just keep the articulation at MU/ML standards, preferably with each character's signature accessory. Dinoriders Just take what Imaginext is doing, and make it a little more mature. Make the figures 3.75" G.I.Joe-style and make the dinos more realistic and scientifically accurate (or as close as one can reasonably get when making a toy for 8- to 12-year-olds). Visionaires Same as M.A.S.K., only outside of the "official" G.I.Joe universe. That's all for now.... |
Flying Fighters
Force One Ring Raiders Exo Squad |
|
So many awesome toylines come to mind:
Starcom Exo Squad Visionaries Inhumanoids Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors Crystar this list can go on and on and on and... |
I'd love for some really good quality Darkwing Dark figures and accessories.

http://www.toyark.com/80s-updates-96388/ I still like my treatment. Dinoriders. I feel this is one of the more imaginative lines of the eighties. The toys still stand the test of time, with the dinosaurs being (sadly) some of the best dinosaur toys ever produced. (I say "sadly" not that I feel these are bad, but because it's ashame aside from Jurassic Park, in nearly 25 years we haven't gotten anything better and more accurate) Also, the action figures themselves fit the modern toy scales and sensabilities. How I would handle the toyline: Humanoids- Figures would be on a 3.3/4" scale, and this would form the backbone for scale across the entire toyline. Dinosaurs- Figures would feature at least basic articulation, and would be in scale to the humans. Dinosaurs that are only six feet long will be no longer than a Gi I Joe figure is tall. Would also focus on making them as accurate as possible to our modern scientific understandings and theories about dinosaurs. That's largely what they did originally, the only way to honor that is to do no less now. Most dinosaurs would come with simple gear. Saddles, weapons,a nd light armor. Playsets- Given how expensive it can be to make complexe toys now, some dinosaurs would only come with simple gear, unlike the original toyline. To compensate for this, I would make large playsets that can then compact and transform into pods and armor that can be used to enhance the dinosaurs (And thus completing the picture for the original toyline.) Some could become weapon platforms for various giant dinosaurs, some would become humanoid transport, some armor. But all could stand alone as toys and playsets of their own if the child can't aquire the matching dinosaur (And vice versa). Fiction- Beginning in the future, the humans (As well as a few alien species) have created a peaceful Valorian Empire, dedicated to science and understanding. Beginning a new program for travelling through time, and seeking a deeper understanding of the universe, they create the S.T.E.P.: Space Time Energy Projector, that will allow observation-only missions into the past. And then the Rulons attacked. Trying to steal the STEP, the brutal battle over it inadvertantly creates a spacetime paradox, bringing animals and primative humans of all ages to coexist in one spot in time and space. With limited access to technology, the Valorians seek to use the dinosaurs and other prehistoric fauna to aid them with brute strength, in their efforts to restore the timeline, as well as beginning their observations. (Why waist an opportunity?) The Rulons however using mind control technology use the dinosaurs as weapon platforms... living tanks, to irradicate the Valorians, whom they blaim for the whole problem. |
Food Fighters. Probably will never happen.
As for something more likely, I'd like to see a return of M.A.S.K. I don't collect anything in that scale, but I'd like to get into the line. Starting from the beginning of a line that maybe did a mix of new and old designs, I'd be all for it. I would personally prefer that the toys take advantage of the modern techniques/standards of sculpt, paint, articulation, etc. Price could be a concern with this line. I'd even be in for a subscription. If they were in scale with Marvel Universe, it would give me a reason to collect those two. Maybe even pick up some GI Joes or DC stuff to go along with it. A M.A.S.K. Masterpiece line in original scale with high attention to detail with a higher price point and sold at TRU(or Subscription) like the Transformers line would be acceptable as well. |
4 Inch
MOTU TMNT CAPCOM Thundercats |
COPS was a really good underrated show that should get a nice comeback. Problem is how obscure it really is that no one would buy it without there being a show to back it up.
Is it too early to bring back Spiderman Animated? |
Hell, let's bring back Transformers Animated.

Or at the very least, do Gobots Animated, to sorta fill that void. |
Animated was decent but RID was better imo.

I think one of the missed/failed opportunities by IDW was to set up a new Beast Wars continuity, springing from their current G1 universe.
One of the successes AND annoyances of Beast Wars, was that it was based both on Sunbow and Marvel G1. So it doesn't fit neatly into either. IDW for a while had a chance to rectify that, until they blew it by shoehorning Waspinator and Rattrap into G1. They really could have set up multiple storylines, too, even going so far as to include RiD/Car Robots elements, with Gigatron (posing as "Megatron"), Skybyte, Slapper, Darkscream, and Gasskunk. The predacon rogues: Megatron, Senator Magmatron, Galvatron, and Gigatron, all working under directions from master criminal Cryotek, engage in a multistep plan, to overthrow the Tripredacus Counsil and the Maximal High Command. Megatron and his crew of thugs steal the Golden Disk, and an illigal Transwarp Drive, they believe will lead them to Earth, circa 2000 so they can harvest the Ore 13 before the Decepticons come for it. A chance encounter with the crew of the Axalon sends them hurtiling out of control through time, to "parts unknown." Gigatron, along with his predacons Skybyte, Gasskunk, Slapper, and Darkscream are sent to "modern" times, to pose as Megatron and take over the decepticons of this era. Galvatron is sent out to locate a mysterious substence called Amalagous (I think?) Energy. Meanwhile Magmatron continues to use his political power to undermine both Maximal and Predacon counsils. Hell, even without IDW Universe this would still work as a new Beast Wars continuity. |
