First up is the awesome Armored Spider Man!

Armored Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2016 Wave 2 Photo Shoot - The Toyark - News

juggernaut209 05-26-2016 08:38 PM

At first I was shocked that a Marvel Legends armored Spider-Man had come out of nowhere. Then I realized it was a 4" figure. Most companies fight brand confusion, Hasbro revels in it.

donmeca2020 05-26-2016 08:41 PM

boooooooo 4 inch.... i was hoping it was the 6 inch line. yet again disappointed, first a house of M spidey, then spider-an Noir, now this ??? damn the 4 inch line.

snake5289 05-26-2016 09:06 PM

Hope I can find one. The Armored Spidey was always one of my favorite Spider-Mans when I was little.

kylactus 05-26-2016 10:32 PM

Remember the amazing spidey issue with the spider armor foil pressed cover? Or maybe it was a hologram? I just remember seeing it for like 200$ in a comic shop in the 90's, then last year in a flea market for less than cover price... Not the best investment those foil covers.

This line is dying so show it some respect! If it weren't for the success and awesomeness of Hasbro's 4" MU line then the 6" Legends line may very well have never come back, but now they treat us MU collectors to under-articulated yet more expensive offerings. For shame Hasbro, for shame.

snake5289 05-26-2016 11:08 PM

^^ What he said.

Never! :p

Dolemite 05-27-2016 07:53 AM

The article should be updated to reflect that this is from the 4-inch line. I had to figure it out for myself (which, admittedly, wasn't hard, but Hasbro is already confusing people enough as it is).

CoolToysOnly 05-27-2016 11:43 AM

I thought this was the 6 inch line, marvel legends 3/4 figures are lame

DinahBoredom 05-27-2016 12:37 PM

I think we should all agree to call these "Marvel Universe" figures regardless of what Hasbro stamps on the package.

Marvel Universe figures are 3 3/4 inches. Marvel Legends are 6 inches. This should be the immutable law of Marvel action figures.

Universe 05-27-2016 12:58 PM

Hell, I would take one decent Marvel Universe wave per year then to have these cheap knockoffs.

DESTRO 05-27-2016 08:04 PM

Next up is Rage! Sleeper hit for me.

Is it though? They're still coming out with new sought after figures. The new Rogue looks great.

I whole heartily agree with everything written here.
HASBRO, stop trying to confuse grandmothers shopping online!!!

Phantomcrow 05-28-2016 08:50 AM

Just put the SIZE first and foremost when you post about Marvel Legends. Please and Thank You. It would keep these 2 lines from being confused.

Mike Decay 05-28-2016 10:43 AM

Is it just me or does Rage's bio sound an awful lot like the Toxic Avenger? Gets doused in a hazardous chemical and with in no time, becomes a full grown man with superhuman strength.

Tell that to the Hasbro team next time you bump into them.

snake5289 05-28-2016 11:44 AM

Doesn't really matter what they're called these days I still call the MU.

scarecrow 05-28-2016 11:56 AM

I never knew Rage's backstory (I have a heroclix figure of him, my first intro to the character). While his backstory is hilariously dumb, it has all the great traits of a goofy golden age origin. For that reason, I love it. I think I need to read about this guy, now.

Honestly I think the hair on the upcoming Rogue is atrocious, it hardly resembles what it's supposed to because they made the white part stick up like a mohawk while the rest looks shaved down. I say the line is dying because this is now literally the only 3.75" line even though we used to get movie lines to compliment it, the articulation and overall quality dropped, the price went up, and we've gotten way less waves per year since the rebranding. Meanwhile the 6" line has seen improvements in quality as well as an increase in figure output.

Next up is Living Laser.

The backstories for Rage and Living Laser are hilarious.

I really like how well Living Laser came out especially since more villains are almost always appreciated but his bio on the back might as well be like one of those knock-off toys, "super-villain bad man control energy."

House of M Spidey was a touched-up repack from eons ago.

I don't know what you're so upset about though. We get shafted hard in almost every way possible, all the time. Let us have something good from time to time. Six inch has the best selection and the best bang for your buck and they eventually get better versions of every figure we get. I mean when I do see 4" they're $12-15 and 6" is $16.

I don't understand why this needs to be said in pretty much every news topic on 4 inch figures. I don't want 6 inch to stop existing or stop having cool stuff, I only want us to have the cool stuff as well. It seems 6 inch only fans could tell us to lie in the sand for all they care though. Makes me sad. We're all here because we love toys and we shouldn't crap on things others like.
