It's a reuse of the Clown figure from Three Jokers with different colors and a new head sculpt.

Description

Once a small-time crook, The Joker fell into a vat of chemicals that turned his skin white, his hair green, and his lips red—like a crazed clown. His crimes always involve pranks and jokes ending with twisted punchlines that are only funny to The Joker. He may look like he’s clowning around, but this guy is bad news for Batman and Gotham City! After having his face cut off a year earlier, The Joker returns with said face morbidly and haphazardly reattached. Kidnapping the entire Batman Family, he fully intends to destroy Batman by forcing him to see the demise of his adopted family. Recommended for children ages 12+.

Incredibly detailed 7” scale figure based off the DC Multiverse

Designed with Ultra Articulation with up to 22 moving parts for full range of posing and play

Joker is featured in his look from Death of the Family

Joker comes with an Axe and a base

Included collectible art card with figure photography on the front, and character biography on the back

Right?! I think someone at mcfartlame needs to up their lens perscription

IzzyTipsy 02-07-2022 06:49 AM

So at this point McFarlane is basically giving every character side eye so they can do ONE pose.

Dude might as well just do what he really wants and remove articulation and make statues again.

I feel like at this point it is deliberate, maybe because side eye is harder to screw up in the factory than trying to get it centered? Wonky eyes are some QC issues that happen fairly often in this business.

Cyclopswc 02-07-2022 08:24 AM

"We have problem with wonky eyes? No problem! Let's make them all wonky eyes!"

TheBlueMarvel 02-07-2022 08:41 AM

The side-long glance is less jarring than the Depends he seems to be hiding underneath those custom tailored and unusually baggy tuxedo slacks. His tailor was either preparing the clown prince for geriatric transitioning or providing room for him to shit his pants during his encounters with the Bat.

Pretty much yeah. It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Alterclark 02-07-2022 09:54 AM

No. Bad dog, bad!

It took me a few months of collecting the line, but I've thankfully arrived at the conclusion that Mcfarlane has some of the lowest quality action figures I've ever owned. It's astonishing that they've managed to hold onto their license for DC.

I mean their figures are far from perfect, and at times it seems like they purposely make design decisions just to annoy collectors, but they're far from the worst toys out there!

He's probably one of those people comparing $20 mass market action figures to 1/6-scale Hot Toys / Star Ace / Phicen.

I haven't collected any of the line, but developed a sense for exactly this based on pictures here on the Ark. And not the recent spate of broken limb photos, but rather the glam shots meant to showcase these figures.

I liked Mcfar's figs back in the day as much as anyone, but it'd be disingenuous if I didn't acknowledge the numerous turds 'interesting' sculpts tricked me into buying back then. Mcfar is hit or miss in his artistic sensibilities. Imo he either nails it or it looks pretty bad and that was also my take on his art growing up. Equal parts inspiration and banality.

Designincase 02-07-2022 11:50 AM

I don't feel like the WB is that protective over licensing the figure. Promote Batman and collect that licensing check. It's a philosophy that carries over into their animation and film division.

Todd Mcfarlane doesn't make these figures. He's not the one digitally sculpting all these figures. His name is on the box but he's not the artist. But he is the final say on what designs go into production.

Sculpt wise - Mcfarlane(the company) does well with bodies. Many of the faces should never have passed prototyping much less hit the 3D printers.
I think they get game models which is why a lot of them look 1 to 1. But original stuff is hit or miss. They've made some great og faces(John Stewart) but then it's like no one gets Batman wear a cowl on top of a human head. Then likeness to real people.............

Articulation - They've been converting statues into figures. They have not being designing figures with the articulation cuts in mind.

They refuse to address the torso and the aesthetics of the joints. Their articulation system needs a total revamp.

The the anti consumer release practices with the variant heads.

For the price point it's a decent figure. With some simple tweaks it could be a great figure. With a little bit of work now, it could be a definitive one.

Decent: Generally most have some good things and some very obvious problems. Say a great sculpt but no torso articulation/no accessories/side eye

Great: Address the articulation system under the hood. As it's sculpted parts over a standardized articulation system can could be replaced. No more side eye, stronger sculpting for the face. A set of alt hands

Definitive: On top of the previous, add in some more paint, accessories(like alt heads and gear), a totally revamped articulation and sculpting design philosophy.

Would you really need multiple Batmen if a basic suit design came with multiple heads?

Heck an accessory pack would address for much. Alt heads and hands to swap out on most of the bodies.

Is that Batman's axe? Because it's shaped like a bat. So Joker used Batman's own axe against him? And why did Batman bring a Bataxe?!? Intriguing!

Well, he was able to kidnap the entire Batfamily, including Bruce. This Joker really got the upper hand on everyone.

Cyclopswc 02-08-2022 02:14 PM

But still. A Bataxe! I mean, this is not Medieval Batman, this is modern day Batman and he actually axe people/things enough to have an axe custom made to shaped like a bat!

snake5289 02-08-2022 02:16 PM

They're also fighting in the Batcave so Joker had access to all of Bruce's stuff.

Bat-shaped items usually make sense ... except for one time when an artist drew Batwoman having a bat-shaped monitor. Not decoration around the monitor, but the actual monitor itself. Made me shake my head, lol.

Not gonna lie. That would drive me... crazy (ah, I was gonna say batty but didn't haa). I mean I get annoyed if I've left a lil figurine above on the TV cabinet and it's little head is overlapping the bottom of the TV screen even just an inch. Like it's a tall person sat in some row in front of you at the cinema. lol
