What big names are missing 1/1 8th lines?

I was surfing earlier and came across someone hoping for a Bond line aimed at collectors and then one at rumored 1/18th ST figures from Hasbro.

It made me think what lines could actually work in 1/18th scale and waht would seem like a great idea but turn out like Indiana Jones. Great Theroy, a line everyone said they wanted right up until they had it.

My take is 007 would sell a lot of 1 figure. And a lot of figures would pegwarm. The Aston Martin set would sell but the Moonraker shuttle would be an undersized piece of junk.....Okay Jaws would sell too.

Star Trek could really work. It's made for 1/18th figures and there are enough major charecters and history to explore. As they point out in the other forum I was reading on Rebelscum the really only need a male buck and and female buck for each series (TOS, TNG, VOY, DS9) and in 2013 you have movie support. It'll be interesting to see what Hasbro brings to the table at sdcc.

I disagree with Star Trek....Think Hasbro is making a mistake by producing this...IMO its boring...

Things I think COULD work would be:

MOTU
MASK
DCU** If done right...(in scale and as much Artic as MU)

A 007 line would be sick if they made figures for every single movie. I agree that ST is boring.

Here is why I think Star Trek is boring...

Star Wars is 50x cooler than Star Trek will ever be...and Star Wars toys (for the most part, dont get me wrong there are some gems in there) are now BORING...thus making Star Trek toys 50X more boring than the existing boring Star Wars toys...

The Walking Dead. The McFarlane line is awful and who wouldn't love tons of 1:18 zombies and civilians?

Doctor Who. I'd army build the shit out of Daleks and Cybermen.

I'd also like an indie comics line. The Maxx, Scud: The Disposable Assassin, Invincible, Grendel, Madman, etc. ToyBiz tried it with their Legends scale. And Shocker Toys does it for the 6" stuff too.

M.A.S.K. and Robotech.

DAMN...Great call!

One series that I would love to see as a toy line (but never got one) would be Die Hard. But maybe I can make my own John McClane when Retaliation toys hit my area next week (read: year).

While I stand firmly on the side of Star Wars when it comes to picking one or the other, I am a fan of Star Trek as well.

I don't consider either franchise boring. The only reason SW toys are boring is because between Kenner and Hasbro, they have done just about every single character in that universe.

At least with Star Trek, they haven't fully tapped that universe yet. It has 4 more movies than SW, more written fiction and more TV series. Part of the reason for that untapped potential is that the toys that have been released for it are by-and-large crap (the Mego figures were good for their time).

PS: by the way, in coming down on Star Trek, you do realize you open yourself up to attacks from Trekkies/Trekkers, right? ;)

Of course, the same thing would happen if you went in the opposite direction.

I would personally LOVE a Mad Max/Road Warrior line of 3 3/4" figures with vehicles. That would kick all kinds of ass.

I am sure 007 Bond line toys will be widely purchased by people.Star war toys or the ones from star trek series are less interesting among children.Hoping to know about other such kind of toys from wonderful guys like you.
