New fighting game "DC Injustice"

Fresh off the success of last year's new Mortal Kombat game, Nether Realm studios is ready to unveil their latest project...

A DC comics inspired fighting game, without mortal kombat characters, just strictly DC heroes and villains.

Check out the trailer below and chime in with your concerns, expectations and hopes for characters you'd like to see make the roster.

TheSymbiote 05-31-2012 03:48 PM

YES! As long as it plays like Mortal Kombat its already bought.

Exodus 05-31-2012 03:55 PM

Looks sick, love the graphics, too bad Marvel will probably never go this route. Hopefully they have a variant Wonder Woman outfit, the pants got to go:p

xhavoc86 05-31-2012 04:05 PM

If it's anything like the current Mortal Kombat game, I'm stoked!!!

I hope it has all my favorites (which is impossible cause that would be over 9000 characters lol) but i hope the character list is thoughtful... including both a good amount of fan favorite characters with current relevant ones, as well as some obscure characters.

kdawg01970 05-31-2012 04:09 PM

Im sold on this one already!!!

Greenskar 05-31-2012 04:41 PM

After seeing how great the recent mk played I have good expectations for the game play at least versus the not so great mk vs DC game.

I actually want to play as Solomon Grundy for some reason, lol. He might be my hulk character for this game.

Greenskar 05-31-2012 05:01 PM

Ok I have to give my first gripe after re-watching that trailer.

@1:17 I swear Batman just flying kicked Solomon Grundy and sent him flying like he was just punched by Superman. Wtf?

and this is the problem ith this type of game. innovation is the way bats evens the odds not soley brawl and they can't convey that with kind of game

xhavoc86 05-31-2012 06:08 PM

Batkick. that is all. lol

Barefootabe 05-31-2012 07:30 PM

lol

i liked it too, i dont know why people hate it so much! in truth, the format laid the foundation for the current MK game, which hopefully will lay the foundation for how the Injustice game will be.

Barefootabe 05-31-2012 08:41 PM

think how awesome it will be this time with all the focus on DC characters and after all they did in the with the last MK game

Greenskar 05-31-2012 09:28 PM

Wait...do they all get fatalities now that they've (heroes) become "our greatest threat"?

Lol, nahhhhh. Who am I kidding. DC would never allow that and I certainly don't want any lame brutalities like the last game they were in. I'd more than welcome some awesome X-ray equivalent supers though! Actually...

...@ 1:27, where Superman punches the Flash out of Earth's atmosphere and then flys up really fast and punches him back to the ground, that was cool as fuck to me. If this is an example of some type of Super or finisher, I'm cool with that one.

What do you guys think?

Crazy Jetty 05-31-2012 09:46 PM

If it comes out on Wii, and not being Mortal Kombat means it might, I'm in.
Would prefer Capcom though. I always *hated* the MK games and the way they handle.

We never thought that the superman/flash scene was anything other then a super move

We only played the 1hour trial so we can't form an opinion yet.

Well its coming out on the new Wii U...but not the regular Wii. And i can't express enough how the only fighting game I've ever wanted was a Marvel vs DC made by Capcom.

Crazy Jetty 06-01-2012 12:26 AM

Well, I plan on getting a Wii U (eventually), so it's all the same to me.
And soooo agreed.
I almost think Capcom *tried* to get DC just for that, and made the unusual and unlikely Marvel vs Capcom when that failed.
It would be the most epic fighting game ever.

warmachine6 06-01-2012 12:28 AM

i wouldnt mind it although cant get it, i = PC gamer (downside sometimes but the good games are i find always avaiable on pc)

xhavoc86 06-01-2012 08:51 AM

after the bomb that was sfxt, im not so sure if they could do a successful marvel vs dc although i would love to have that...

If capcom was able to hold both the DC and Marvel license for just one game it could easily be done for them. They already have a tried and true 2d fighting game formula locked down. They just need freedom to use the characters.

Better actually if they worked together, capcom and MK, if you mix those 2 together than you'll get an ultimate fighting game that'll go down in history!

I disagree with this. Street fighter vs Tekken was nothing special because the things that made them great as individual fighting franchises with their respective fighting mechanics, had to be compromised so that they could coexist together in one game cohesively.

Mk and SF are on two opposite ends of the genre. Its been proven with the MK vs DC game that mk just isn't the same without copious amounts of blood and gore. Try to mix up how that game plays with how SF plays and you end up with a convoluted mess. One would have to conform to the other and suffer for it. It would go down in history alright. As the best idea expected to turn out bad that was actually worse than expected. That's my opinion at least and I'm sticking with it.

Ah didn't know that about SFvsT, since I never played it.

Snailbot 06-01-2012 11:49 AM

I really enjoyed DC vs MK, but I'm not into this game. At least not yet. I don't want to play Batman as a Demigod; I want Batman as Batman. It's early, so I'll keep watching the updates on this game, but why can't they just put a bunch of DC characters in great backgrounds and say, "go!"? Thanks for posting this, Greenskar.
